Sakura's Rivalry
Sakura and Yang had been sparring in the combat section of the school while Naruto and Ruby are watching them. Although Yang is younger, Sakura is more experienced with her blows and while Yang's gauntlets are ballistic, Sakura's is acidic. Yang would often use her ballistic fists but Sakura wouldn't use her acidic ones.
Yang questioned while parrying Sakura's punch. "Why wouldn't you use your acidic blasters?"
Sakura blocked Yang's punch while answering. "Well, it can be really painful and I doubt anyone, Aura or not, can heal from acidic flesh-melting slime. Trust me on this."
Yang asked again. "And what's your gauntlet's name?"
Sakura countered. "Yours first."
"Ember Celica. Now yours." Yang replied while attempting a knee which Sakura dodged.
"Slug Division. I wanted to name it Shannaro but Naruto thought it was ridiculous." Sakura said while Yang looked at Naruto.
"It IS ridiculous! Nobody would take that name seriously Sakura, I keep telling you that!" Naruto shouted.
"Shut up!" Sakura shouted back.
Yang sweated dropped seeing the two fight but spoke a bit. "Can we continue fighting already?"
"Let's." Sakura answered while throwing a glare at Naruto who smirked.
Punches, slaps, knees, kicks happened to the two. They couldn't connect a single hit to each which was either deflected or parried. In the end they both punched each other in the face, knocking them down.
"Now that's a tie." Ruby declared with Naruto nodding.
"It's a good fight, Sakura." Yang said, standing up with difficulty.
"Likewise. I admit you remind me of myself when I was your age." Sakura replied while standing up too.
Yang smirked while holding out a hand. "I'll get you next time and we'll beat that tie."
Sakura shook it. "I'm counting on it. You say the word and we'll rumble."
The two girls looked and saw a young woman with long platinum blonde hair worn in a ponytail wearing a purple top that exposes her midriff and mesh armor on her legs (Shippuden outfit) talking to Naruto and Ruby with a chubby brown-haired man sporting a red suit with plated armour on his torso, arms, and upper legs. There is also a man with a sticky ponytail and wearing a green flack jacket and green lined mesh armor. (All Shippuden outfits)
Ino Yamanaka said to Naruto. "So I hear this girl's name is Ruby Rose right?" When Naruto nodded, she continued. "I hope you don't mind if I take her off your hands because we would really like someone who knows how to make weapons and Shikamaru can tell that she's a prodigy even though she's a one year."
Naruto replied to her. "That's nice and all but it's not my decision alone to make as you're going to have to deal with her team and my people would like to have her around."
Ino sighed and said. "I know but you have Sasuke as your partner and Hinata with you. There's only three of us and we'd really like a new member for our team. I promise that I'll take good care of Ruby until she wants to go back to her team and buy some flowers for her-"
Ino didn't finish her sentence as she felt a soda can hit her in the head. "OKAY, WHO'S GOT THE BALLS!?" She saw Sakura and knew she was the one who threw the can. "...oh it's you Sakura."
"Mind explaining what you're doing here Ino-Pig. I swear the moment I turn my back, poachers like you would come steal people like Ruby." Sakura angrily said.
"Oh come on. Even though you guys are partnered up with her team, nothing's official yet. I think it's only fair that Ruby gets to see what else is in store besides Team 7. I can be nice to her and Shikamaru can teach her strategy too." Ino replied.
"I appreciate you're trying to help her out. Truly. But I doubt it came out of the kindness of your heart. Besides do you really think Ruby would like to join your team? If I remember correctly, my team completely destroyed YOUR team in our last sparring match. I see no reason for Ruby to downgrade when it comes to teammates." Sakura sniped.
"DOWNGRADE!? You got some nerve saying that to me, Forehead!" Ino yelled, face flushed red with anger. "Besides your team is far from perfect! When was the last time you guys beat us in test scores? Oh that's right! NEVER!"
"THE TESTS QUESTIONS ARE JUST WAY TOO DIFFICULT THAT'S WHY!" Sakura screamed in argument. "Not to mention we had the misfortune of being dragged down by Naruto!"
"HEY!" Naruto yelled.
Ruby worriedly looked at the two and saw a fight ready to happen but before blows can be done. Shikamaru Nara used his Shadow Semblance to restrain the two and spoke with an annoyed voice. "Can you two stop it, you troublesome girls? We have two first years here."
"SHE STARTED IT!" Sakura and Ino yelled while pointing at each other.
"This is troublesome. You two have to calm down or I'll have to choke you unconscious..."
With some grumbles, Ino and Sakura calmed down and Shikamaru's team had left while Ino looked upset as she followed.
Naruto sighed as she looked at Ruby who looked ready to ask a question. "Sorry you had to see that. That team is our 'rivals' though the rivalry is merely about Sakura and Ino."
Yang chimed in. "I heard something Sakura said about poachers looking to steal Ruby. Care to explain?"
Sakura rubbed her jaw as she explained. "Well, let's just say that Ruby is...a one of kind. I can't explain it but I promise you Yang that when all the teams hear about Ruby's potential, they would give up their weapons just to have Ruby on their team." Naruto nodded.
Yang let out some of her angry semblance and shouted out. "Nobody is stealing Ruby from our team! Not while I and my teammates have a say in it!"
Naruto shrugged. "I don't blame you. Now let's return to our dorm."
