Chapter 2

Tiffany and Melinda loved living in the apartment. It was spacious. It also had a wonderful view of the city. Melinda turned her head when Tiffany walked into the family room.

"Hey there, guess your brother made a good decision, huh?" Tiffany remarked as Melinda smiled.

"Yeah, I'm guessing he did." She replied.

"Hey was thinking maybe we should head up to upper state New York to Lake George, what do you think?" Tiffany suggested as Melinda shrugged.

"Guess so, sounds good." She answered.

"So, we'll stay for the weekend, right?" Tiffany remarked.

"Alright," Melinda answered.

They packed up a duffle bag each; and headed to upper state New York. The only problem was the weather had turned seriously bizarre and both girls wondered what was going on. Lightning shot across the sky, however this lightning kept changing from regular color to bright pink.

"What's up with this lightning?" Tiffany asked in a rather upset tone of voice.

"I have no idea but..." Melinda started to say until a pink bolt of lightning hit her car and knocked both girls for a loop.

It was then Melinda saw what looked like a meteor hurling toward the car. She felt her heart beating faster while fear slithered around her heart.

"Jeez, where is your brother when you need him?" Tiffany snapped.

"Ironman can't be everywhere come on we gotta get out of the car and fast." Melinda said as they jumped out of the vehicle.

However, when the meteor hit the car the impact knocked out both girls, and as they laid unconscious the meteor broke into two glowing forms. They walked up toward Melinda and smiled as they watched her.

"She has been chosen as The Guardian let her do her duties swiftly and with heart." He said as he pointed a staff at Melinda.

A warm golden glow started to envelope her body, and when it did they spoke to her in her mind.

"Melinda Stark, you have been chosen to become The Guardian a protector to the innocent." The one said.

"The Avengers protect Earth..." she said.

"That is true but you will have help unlike they have." The other being said.

"What kind of help?" she asked.

"You will be able to talk to animals, insects, birds and be able to get help from trees and planet life." He said. "You will be able to change form into an animal at will as well." He added.

Silence...

"No one else except for your friend must know the truth about what you can do." He replied.

"Tony's not exactly one to keep secrets from," Melinda remarked.

"Perhaps, but you must try," the other being said.

Silence fell over Melinda.

"Alright," she said as they nodded. "How will I know when I'm suppose to help someone?" she asked.

They were smiling then.

"You will get a vision or one of your feline friends will tell you." He explained as Melinda still couldn't believe it.

However, who was she to judge when her brother was Ironman and her one good friend was Scarlet Witch.

Several days later...

Melinda had already told Tiffany about what happened, but she had witnessed things as well. Like the being had said either one of the cats or a vision would be sent into her mind. She had an amazing outfit as well with a mask. She was very excited about this new destiny. She just hoped nothing happened to prevent her from doing it, because she loved it.

She had her own superhero identity just like her brother and the other Avengers and to her it was cool.
