Giichi Matsuburi was tired of this. He'd been charged with 43 counts of serial murder, and was currently being transferred from one of the marine depots in the dead zone of Manila, in the Phillipines, to an unmarked facility in southern California. Now while 43 sounds bad, that count of murder would normally not be taken so seriously(at least in the dead zones), but all his target had been incredibly high profile, ranging senators to presidents of some countries, CEOs, etc. All who were supposed to have the best protection on hand.

Giichi always hated long ass flights before, but having to sit through one with his hands restricted behind his back was a new low. They didn't even give him any sort of entertainment, so he'd just been looking at the ceiling for hours on end, imagining new ways he'd kill all the guards stationed outside his cell. He'd slice the brown haired one's neck, before moving on to wail on the blonde one, breaking his face apart with his fists. The brown one had been the one to catch him, actually beating him in hand to hand combat, he couldn't afford to tassle with him again, no matter how fun it'd be. Not if he was trying to escape. Then he'd use the blonde one's signature to get his way into the pilots cabin, he'd kill him after of course, as his usefulness would have been fulfilled.

A knock could be heard on the door, the glass turning from a thick opaque to crystal clear. The brown haired one looked at him with a knowing smile, the smile of someone who knew they could taunt and gloat however much they wanted without fear of any retribution. Giichi would make him drown in his own blood, and see how his smile looked then.

"We're coming up on San Diego, you might want to take a look, it'll be the last time you'll ever see a city again." The outer wall of his cell also turned clear then, giving Giichi a view of the towering city in all its glory, the last remnants of light reflecting off the buildings as the sun had just set.

Giichi knew that if he didn't escape this transport, he was likely going to be executed or jailed for life at the next depot. Since he was fit they might even draft him into one of the manual labor camps after a couple years.

"You know you're lucky that the higher ups wanted that rock at the same time we got you." he gestured to the cell adjacent to Giichi. "Yeah some of them wanted to meet you, but we still would have executed you on the spot given your record if we didn't also have to transport this asteroid."The brown haired one continued to yap on, but Giichi would use this to his advantage, run through all his options.

His cell, made of unbreakable glass, with AI watching his every move, ready to blare the alarms if he did anything suspicious. No way to trick his way out with the bathroom or food, as the bathroom manifested itself in the corner of his room whenever he asked for it, but the mechanism didn't activate unless he was on the other side of the room, and he couldn't see a way to exploit it. His food also didn't slide through the small slot that would appear unless he had his back against the wall, but it was small enough he wouldn't be able to grab the guard's arm through it anyway. Things were not looking good. But Giichi would not give up, there was a way out of this, he'd always been able to either think or muscle his way through every problem that had ever been presented to him, this time is no different.

But just when all hope seemed to be lost, Giichi started to feel a power well up inside of him. Like a reservoir, no, an entire ocean of energy, begging to be used. He gave into the power, and it was intoxicating.

His body lengthened and tore the cell apart as his body grew to an enormous size. The airship exploded apart as he gave in to this new energy. He looked down at his sleek black body, the monstrous serpentine makeup with blood red edges. There were gold rings trailing along the side of his sleek form, and even though his new form felt so alien to him, he felt suggestions, instincts, from deep within him, giving him clues on how to move. He experimentally floated around in the air, and everything felt... right. His body tore through the air at whatever speeds he needed, he felt like he could do anything, the reservoir of energy at his bidding seemed endless.

Giichi looked down at the remnants of the airship in distaste, even hundreds of meters above it, he could hear the screams of distress from aboard the ship, his newfound senses able to hear over the roaring of the wind. Probably the blond one, the brown haired one was too composed to scream. Not that it would help him now.

All he needed was one word, destroy, to cross his mind, and the power in him gave him the answer he needed. He felt energy coalescing at his mouth, a beautiful golden hue, expanding to a ball. He looked back down at the ship, and released. The hyper beam was thick enough that it encompassed the entire ship, drowning it with light. When his attack ended, there weren't even ashes left to fall to the ground, the beam of energy wiping the entire airship from existence.

Giichi had never felt so good before. This power, was everything he'd ever wanted. He didn't feel like there was a limit to his power, but he wanted to test it. See just what he could do in this new form. He turned back to San Diego, seeing chaos ensue in the streets as flashes of light erupted all around the city. He'd free them from the chaos, from the pain of existence. He would liberate all of their souls from the Earth, just like they had planned to do to him.

Energy coalased in front of his mouth at an alarming rate, the ball formed in front of him growing exponentially larger than before. He started to feel his body shake from the energy flowing through him, his very atoms screaming as they started to feel like they were being torn apart. But Giichi held on. More. More. The ball in front of him was blinding, citizens looked to the sky as a new sun blossomed in front of the black and gold sky serpent. Just when he felt like he couldn't take any more, he released, the beam as thick around as the largest skyscraper, tore its way into the middle of the city.

The ground erupted as the world seemed to still, before the shockwave vaporized people and debris alike. The sound of every glass pane in the city shattering was overshadowed by the massive explosion. The skyscrapers nearest the epicenter of the attack were obliterated, exploding apart all over the city as the beam tore into the earth. The ear shattering explosion continued out, reaching the ends of the city, obliterating anything and everything in its wake.

Giichi looked at the aftermath, the chaos ridden city from seconds ago now completely quiet, with the occasional collapse of a building. The serene silence, nothing had ever been so beautiful to his ears. The light crackling of fire and smell of burnt flesh was therapeutic. He could look at this scene all day. He was a little more tired than before, the nuclear level attack actually putting a dent in his reservoir of energy. He felt it refilling at an insane rate, but he could tell it would be a while before he could let loose like that again. He willed his body to move, his form snaking through the air, shattering the sound barrier as he pushed himself more and more. He was coated with a purplish energy as he tried to go as fast as possible, the air being shredded at the atomic level as his lithe form ripped through the air. Before he knew it, he was staring at the black expanse of space.

What?

He looked down, the gorgeous blue orb that was Earth splayed out before him. He'd made it out into Earth's atmosphere in mere moments. He was so shocked, it took him minutes of staring at Earth before realising he didn't have to breathe. The world was in his hands, he'd broken through the atmosphere and into orbit, after destroying an entire city, and he barely felt winded. This, this is what he'd been waiting for. This was the power he'd always wanted. He'd always been able to get the job done with what he had, but now he could do something more. This is what he'd been meant for. All that work before, finally paying off as he felt his newfound power writhing beneath his fingertips, ready to tear the world asunder at his command.

"AAAAAHHHH", I tried to move forward with everything I had, but my tiny body seemed incapable of movement. I tried to scrunch my body up and lengthen it, to move like a caterpillar, but I only seemed to be moving a millimeter at a time. I could see Greens breathing getting more haggard, weakening with every pained gasp. Her blood continued to spill on the pavement.

I need my legs, I need to MOVE, I need my body back. I willed myself to move with everything I had when I felt power, all around me. My body seemed to be telling me to pull it towards me, but I ignored it in favor of trying to get to Green. I was making shit progress though, having barely moved a foot in all this time. I NEED MY BODY BACK.

Green light erupted from all around me, being drawn to my form as I felt entities being absorbed into my form, growing and growing until I stood back at my normal height. I looked down, my arms and legs green, my skin scaled. All of my clothes were still missing.

I didn't have time to think about it anymore as I rushed to Greens side, her body heaving as she coughed up blood. Oh god oh god. I reached for the saunch root, but it had disappeared along with my clothes. Her eyes seemed to look up at me with recognition, a sad smile being ruined by all the blood on her face.

"I'm here Green I'm here, you're gonna be okay you just need to hold on."

She weakly went to grasp my hand, she looked into my eyes and smiled weakly once more, incapable of any words as the blood welled up in her throat. I held her hand to my chest, watching her as the light in her eyes slowly went out, her weak grasp on my hand falling away as she accepted deaths embrace. I froze, looking at the blood trickle from her lips as I wondered how it had come to this.

The ground shook, almost like an earthquake. I paid it no mind as I closed her eyelids with shaky hands, my empty stare just watching her as I tried to process. Green was dead, Sasha, the girl I had loved for the majority of my life. Someone who I had grown up with, shared all my triumphs, my tragedies, we'd been through high and low together, and now I was alone.

The white light behind me told me otherwise. A flash of light later, and in the place of the mini Deoxys was an infant. I went to pick it up, checking its heartbeat and breathing. It was alive. It seemed the size of a newborn, but Green was only 3 months pregnant. I remembered how Deoxys could shift between forms, maybe it just has an adaptive ability and it forced itself to grow and age in its legendary form to survive? I'd originally thought there was maybe just a rogue rapidash, but the fact that I transformed to means this is something happening all over. It could even affect an unborn fetus?

I looked at Greens body one last time,

"I'll be back to give you a proper burial", I hate to leave her in the streets like this, but she'd understand. This is a city wide, maybe even global threat, and duty comes first. She'd laugh at me for caring about her corpse anyway, in light of a potential extinction level threat.

I ran through my mind, checking my priorities. It's not limited to people who've been in the lab, since I've never seen that middle aged woman before. I need to find out who and why people are being affected. Who would have orchestrated this, and how?

The only answer I can come up with is EDEN, we are the only company working with pokemon, and the only ones with the capability to do anything on this scale. I still have no idea how these transformations are being made, but EDEN could have figured it out. And clearly someone went and mapped the rest of the pokedex, since Zygarde is not from Kanto. Okay, so I need to find out who is getting changed, what they're being changed into, and why. I have a feeling that in all this chaos, power grids and the like might be destroyed, so I need to make use of them now if I want to.

My anger and despair slowly drained out of me as I assessed the situation, calming my mind. I felt a change come about as the green energy drained from me, and a flash of white later, I was back. I looked down, and human skin and limbs greeted me.

The first thing I noticed was how much more of a mess my mind was now. It was so much harder to think, the sounds all around me nearly overwhelming, the stench of death and charred flesh nearly making me vomit. That means my mental faculties were enhanced in that other form. I could barely think with the despair of losing Sasha, but I tried to organize my thoughts.

I carried the infant out of the alley, Leo, that's what Green and I were going to call our kid if we had a boy. I don't even know if this is our kid at this point, but I'm not just going to leave a baby on the ground.

I called up the AI I have in service in my house, letting him know what to do as I explained the situation.

"Look at security feeds globally, look for who is being changed and what they're being changed into, cross reference the data with what the databases have on their entire lives, analyze for patterns." The only people with access to violate people's security like this would be the Professor or me. I wouldn't normally abuse this power, but I need to find out what's going on.

I was only a couple streets away from the Tritech building, but there was chaos going on all around me. I see people dead on the ground, their bodies shriveled and empty, alongside pokemon duking it out on the streets. An ambipom swung from street lamp to street lamp, before getting shot down by a flamethrower from a bloodthirsty magmar. I saw others just trying to run away or protect themselves, a Glameow dodging between people and pokemon alike as it flitted away, a rhydon raising the asphalt in front of it to block a rogue flamethrower from the aforementioned magmar.

The ambipom, after being bathed in flames, flashed white and left a kid, looking to be in his teens, lying on the ground with severe burns, his clothes still on fire. I didn't need to look twice to know he was already dead.

So people change back when they die, and I was seemingly able to change back after calming myself. Are the transformations caused by a certain adrenaline threshold? Or is it a one time use thing where you either stay a pokemon until you die or I can learn to shift back and forth. If it's an adrenaline threshold I would just need to get sufficiently angry or excited, but there's time to test all of this later.

I tried my best to go unnoticed as I slipped along the sidewalk, trying not to draw attention to myself as I headed towards the Tritech building. I made sure that I walked along the magmar's blindspots, it was clearly out for blood. The buildings all around me had varying degrees of damage, I could see gauges where it looked like something had torn through the granite, the steel of some buildings melted in some places. As the Tritech building finally came into view, I noticed that it had suffered no damage.

The magmar blew past me in what looked like a flare blitz as it noticed the same thing. It almost seemed offended that a building stood untouched. As it was about to collide with the front entrance, a massive muscled grey arm swatted it back into the street. A machamp rose from behind the columns of the entrance, standing at eight and half feet tall. The magmar rose back to its feet quickly, smiling at the challenge. But it never stood a chance, as the machamp crouched down, and exploded forward. The concrete cracked beneath its feet as it launched itself towards the magmar, bringing its upper arms down and hammering them into the magmars shoulders. Its lower arms grabbed the magmars arms in the same motion, ensuring no escape as its arms hammered down. The magmar didn't even have time to scream as the machamp rained blow after blow into the magmar, pummeling its face until it was unrecognizable. A flash of white later and a 30 year old skinny white man in a wifebeater collapsed onto the ground. The machamp let the body collapse to the ground before stomping on it, smiling sadistically as the body burst like a water balloon. I ducked back into an alley before it could notice me.

Hell no I am not trying to get past that thing to get into Tritech. At least not now, not while I have this baby. And especially not if I am just a lowly human. Maybe once I figure out if this is a power I can use.

And why the hell is that thing guarding Tritech anyway. Clearly whoever orchestrated this is still at Tritech, or deem Tritech valuable enough to be guarded, so they still have use for it.

Whatever, there's nothing more I can do right now, I need to get back home and see if Geralt(my friendly AI butler) has got any results for me.

Taking one last look at the Tritech building; the machamp had seemed to go back to its hiding spot behind one of the pillars, I sighed as I knew life was going to really suck now. I started my trek back to my apartment.
