Chapter IX

Going undercover: Part II

"I hope Fox is there already." Kevin said to Krystal, still disguised as Peter Greyson as they drove into the large circle in front of Felon's skyscraper building.

Krystal turned her attention to him, still disguised as his assistant, wearing a long blue dress with a slit on the right side.

"I'm sure he is, darling." She assured him with her hand clasping his, "Let's park somewhere and go inside."

They parked in front of the building and got out, allowing a valvet to park their car somewhere nearby. They entered the building and began to look for Fox. The entire place was packed with many rich guests, alot of them were talking. Blue and pink neon lights flashed all around the large room. They founded both Fox and Fara at the bar, not knowing Felon was watching them from a balcony high above them.

"Think you can fool me, dhampir." He said to himself as his head of security appeared to him in black mist. "Sorry, your disguises dont fool me. Guess I was wrong about how many they were coming."

"What are your orders, sir?" The younger pale raccoon vampire asked.

"I want you to keep an eye on our friends down there." Felon ordered, pointing to Kevin and his group of friends down on the first floor, "You and Ryan are to follow them if they leave the room. I have to go. I have a speech to give to these mortals."

The younger pale vampire nodded his head in acknowledgement and watched Felon walk down to the main floor.

Under the disguise of a young female husky, Fox poured a patron a small glass of wine.

"You know, you make a really cute girl, Fox." Krystal teased Fox, who gave her a 'knock-it-off' look.

"Come on, you guys." Kevin said to them via telepathy, "Stay alert. Mom is bound to make the distraction sooner or later."

"Right, bud." Fox replied.

"I hope so." Fara added, "This is so boring. Three guys tried to hit on me."

"Peter, this is a surprise." Felon said from behind both Kevin and Krystal. "One of my associates told me you were attacked a little while ago."

"My neck's ok, Felon." Kevin replied, "My doctor told me it's gonna take a while to recover."

Felon smirked at him.

"How delicious." He said to them, "If you'll excuse me, I have to start on my speech."

The group watched him leave.

"Ladies and gentlemen," Kelo said, "If we could have your attention please."

Everyone turned their attention to the two of them. Kevin saw a mysterious hooded figure standing beside them. He was getting nervous.

"Good evening." Felon started to say, "As many of you know, I have always been an active member of our community for many years. Over the past couple of years, I have been making wonderful contributions to many charities all across the Lylat system."

"I don't think the plan is going to work." Kevin said to his teammates via telepathy, "Fara? Krystal? You guys are with me. Fox? Stay here and watch Felon."

"Yes, Kevin." Fox replied

The three of them calmly and quietly left the room. The younger pale vampire began to follow them, while alerting Ryan at the same time.

"But this year," Kelo added, "We at Rubenstein Corporation have decided to do something huge. Something wonderful. After we have purchased and renovating, we had decided to turn the Sargasso Space Station into a station that will give clean air to all of the Lylat system."

A large image of the space station appeared behind them. The crowd applauded.

On the top floor, Fara, Kevin, and Krystal appeared out of black mist and began to head down after transforming back to themselves. It was dark and Kevin used his telekinect ability to deactivate the security system and turn off the lights on the floor. Luckily, they all had night vision ability. Unluckily, Ryan and a group of Felon's vampires were following them.

"Fara, are you sure this is the right floor?" Kevin asked.

"Positive." Fara replied, "That's what Amanda told me."

"Amanda has never lied to anyone before, sweetheart." Krystal told him, "She said it's in a big vault on this floor."

Sure enough, they approached the large doors to the main vault. Kevin remembered Amanda had been working as an intern over the past year.

"Anyone got a key?" Krystal asked.

"Got one right here." Fara said as she began to dig through her purse, but Kevin stopped her when his ears picked up footsteps coming.

"What is it, darl-" Krystal said then stopped.

All three of them dissipated into black mist and teleported into the vault.

"Let's split up and see if we can find any blueprints." Kevin ordered, "We've got to know why Felon bought and renovated the space station."

All three of them split and began to look around the entire room. Fara spotted a red folder with the words "Sargasso Space Station" written on it. She opened it and turned to her teammates.

"Come and look at this." She said to them.

Both Krystal and Kevin walked up to Fara and examined what she found.

"These are blueprints to something called Gas Warefare X." Krystal said while Kevin pulled out his camera and took pictures of all of them.

"Fox," Kevin said to him via telepathy, "You better get up here. We found something you might wanna see."

Fox appeared out of black mist and walked up to them.

"What is it, guys?" He asked

Kevin showed him the blueprints.

"But the question is," Fox said as he returned the blueprints back to him, "What is Gas Warefare X?"

"Out of the vault!" A voice said to them.

All three of them looked up and saw the raccoon vampire, Ryan and a few of his mortal security teammembers, pointing their blasters at them.

"Not good." Fox said

"Take the plans and get out of here." Kevin ordered his teammates.

Without even saying a word, Krystal, Fox, and Fara dissipated into black mist and teleported out of the building with the blueprints in Krystal's hands.

"He's the only one left." Ryan shouted to his crewmembers, "GET HIM!"

All six of them charged at Kevin, who drew his sword out. He threw one guard over his shoulder and stabbed him hard in the back. Another guard tried to attack him from behind, but he dissipated into black mist and appeared behind him, swiping his head clean off with his sword. He was an expert swordsman and hand-to-hand fighter. He ripped the heart out of a third and lit it on fire. He killed the final guard by firing a massive fireball at him and the raccoon vampire.

Kevin smirked at his handywork and noticed Ryan had fled.

"Now, let's find out what Felon and Kelo really have in store for Lylat." He said to himself as he dissipated into black mist and out of the building.
