It was 2 weeks later Katara began to get sick. Katara was teaching Kya how to move water.

"What can I do besides make water move?" Asks Kya. "Here, I'll show you, follow me," Says Katara. Katara makes an ice slide down to the beach. "Come on Kya." Says Katara. Kya slides down. "Come on now, follow me Kya." Says Katara. Kya follows Katara to the island shores. Katara bends the ocean waves make a pathway for her and Kya to walk through. "Wow!" Kya says. "Yeah, and as a water bender, not only can you control the waves and the tides, but you can create snow; bend snow, freeze snow and water; bend ice, and so much more, but even water bending has a dark side to it which only happens on a full moon, but that my little snow angel, you will learn about what I am talking about the darkness and burden I carry when you are old enough to know." Says Katara. "What do you mean burden you carry?" Asks Kya. "You will understand when you are older." Says Katara. "How many, years?" Asks Kya. "When you have mastered water bending and how to control your bending when you get upset." Says Katara. "Okay." Says Kya.

"Now come on, baby let's learn about how our water bending works and how our ancestors learned to water bend." Says Katara. "What are ancestors?" Asks Kya as she tries her best to say ancestors. "Ancestors are people distantly related to us from many, many, many, years ago." Says Katara. "Okay." Says Kya. "The legends say the moon was the first water bender. Our ancestors saw how it pushed and pulled the tides and learned how to do it themselves ... Our strength comes from the Spirit of the Moon, our life comes from the Spirit of the Ocean. They work together to keep balance." Says Katara. "Have you or daddy seen a spirit before?" Asks Kya. "Well, yes and infact your Uncle Sokka's first girlfriend, Princess Yue of The Northern Water Tribe became the moon spirit." Says Kya. "Uncle Sokka is crazy!" Says Kya. Katara laughs. "He sure is." Katara says. Kya water bends the water of island shore and creates a 3 foot wave. "Mommy look!" Says Kya. "Good job, it's time to turn in for the day." Says Katara.
