It was 3 days later, everyone had arrived to help keep an eye on Katara.
Katara wanted to get up and move around but Aang insisted having Katara stay in bed just incase the baby came because it was unpredictable what time of the day the baby will come. The only way Aang could get Katara to say in bed was for Aang to lay there next to her and grab her snacks.
As Aang went to grab Katara some pickles. But suddenly Katara felt painful quickening and kicks from the baby. "Aahhh!" Katara shouts quietly. No one heard her. Katara felt wet like as if she wetted her pants then as she tired to feel it it was wet. Then she saw blood. Katara screams for help. "Aang, Suki, Xing Yang, Dad! Aahhhhh somebody help me!" Katara shouts. Bumi hears Katara. "Mom?" Bumi asks. "Bumi?!" Katara asks. "Oh my mother, are you okay?" Asks Bumi. "Bumi, thank goodness you are here, go find you grandfather, father, Aunt Suki, and Xing Yang, the baby is coming." Says Katara. Bumi hurries, he finds Aang.
"Dad." Bumi says as he looks into Aang's eyes with worry. Aang drops the bowl of pickles as he hurries to Katara. Bumi then hurries to look for Suki and Hakoda.
As Aang rushes to Katara Xing Yang sees Aang in hurry. "Aang, what is the matter?" Asks Xing Yang. "It's Katara, the baby." Says Aang quickly. Xing Yang follows Aang. Hakoda was with Suki, Sokka, Bumi, Izumi, Zuko, Kya, and Toph. "Grandpa, Aunt Suki, Mom needs you." Bumi says anxiously. Hakoda and Suki rush to Katara.
Bumi says with everyone else. "Bumi, bud come here." Zuko says. "Yeah." Bumi says. "I dare you to steal Sokka's boomerang." Zuko whispers to Bumi. Sokka was snoring, and was asleep. "What are you two planning?" Toph asks quietly. "Uncle Zuko dared me to steal Uncle Sokka's boomerang." Bumi says quietly. "I have twice the better plan." Toph whispers. "We're listening." Zuko says. "Hold on I need to grab someone." Toph says. Toph finds Kya, tapping on her shoulder. "Auntie Toph?!" Kya shouts. "Shhh... come with me." Toph whispers. Toph leads Kya to Zuko and Bumi. "So here is the plan..." Toph says quietly. "What are you talking about Auntie Toph?" Asks Kya. "So, Kya and Bumi when you mother, father, Uncle Sokka, Uncle Zuko, Aunt Suki, and I were teens, some of us except for Suki and Katara would mess with or prank Sokka." Toph says. "You mean, you and sometimes Aang?" Asks Zuko, correcting Toph. "Yeah whatever, sometimes you would too, Zuko." Says Toph. "Aren't you going to finish the plan?" Zuko quietly asks. "Oh yeah, so anyways Sokka was always the target during practices and training with Aang or Katara and I arguing, plus like Zuko said, 'Sokka hates it when someone steals Sokka's boomerang.' " Says Toph, quietly. "I see what you are saying, you want Kya to pour water over Sokka, using her bending." Says Zuko. "Yep, but fist Bumi has to take boomerang." Says Toph. Sokka was still asleep, and snoring. Toph and Zuko tell Bumi and Kya the plan.
While they were teasing Sokka, Katara was in pain trying to give birth to her and Aang's third child. "Ahh!!!" Katara shouts heavily in pain. "Katara, sweetheart, don't forget to breathe and relax." Says Hakoda. "Xing Yang towels, Aang water, and you your fire bending to water the water up, but very carefully." Suki asks. "On it!" Aang shouts. Aang grabs a large bowl and fills it up with water from the fountain and carefully heats it up with his fire bending, the temperature was perfect. Aang then carefully hurries with the water to the bed. "I've got the towels." Xing Yang says. "I got the hot water." Says Aang. "Okay, Xing Yang place the towels below Katara." Says Suki. Xing Yang does as Suki instructions her. Katara trusted Suki when it came to her taking charge of helping Katara deliver since Kya was born. Aang sits next to Katara on the bed side holding her hand and comforting her and laying beside her. "The baby is at least 3 cm dilated, Katara on three I need you to push for me." Suki says. Katara nods. "Okay." Katara says as she struggles to speak, in pain. "Katara, it's alright, Aang and I are here for you." Says Hakoda with kindness as he gently kisses Katara's forehand. "1...2...3, push!" Suki shouts. "Aaahhhhh!" Katara shouts painfully. "We are almost at 4 cm." Says Suki. "Again." Suki says. "1...2...3, push!" Shouts Suki. "Ahhhh!" Katara shouts.
A couple hours later Katara was fully dilated. "Last push this going to be a big one, so I need you to give it your all." Suki says. Katara was sweating. "Hey Katara, hey look at me," Aang says calmingly. Katara looks at Aang. "Katara, sweetie you have been doing great but after this, it will all be over." Aang says. Aang kisses Katara and Katara kisses him back. "I love you." Katara says. "I do too." Says Aang. "Katara, you ready?" Asks Suki. Katara nods. "1...2...3, push!!!" Suki shouts. "Aahhhh!" Katara shouts. Katara rests her head on Aang's chest as she finished pushing. Suddenly everyone hears a baby cry. Katara begins to sniff after crying. Suki begins to cry. "Congratulations, it's a boy!" Suki shouts chuckling with tears. Aang chuckles with tears on joy. "Aang please carefully warm the water a tad with your fire bending but use steam." Suki says. Aang does as he was instructed. "Xing Yang, place the baby in the bowl of water and clean the blood off him." Suki says. Xing Yang does as she was told and then uses a clean towel to dry the baby off and wrap him up, then hands the baby to Katara.
It was 5 minutes later. Katara still felt like she was having contractions. "Aaahhhh!" Katara shouts. Katara hands the baby to Aang. "Katara, you are not having actual contractions, it's the third stage of labor, the placenta is coming." Suki says. "Katara, 1...2...3, push!" Suki shouts. "Aaahhhh!" Katara screams in pain as she tries to push. It was after nearly 30 painful minutes, Katara delivered the placenta. Xing Yang grabs a bowl. Suki uses the towel to drop the placenta into the bowl. "Aang, set the placenta on fire with your fire bending, but carefully." Suki says. Aang burns the placenta.
"What are you going to name him?" Asks Hakoda. "Aang and I wanted a name that would stand out, but since..." Katara says pausing, waiting for Aang to finish her sentence. "Bumi is named after my late friend, King Bumi of Omashu and..." Aang says so Katara can finish the sentence. "Kya is named after Mom, instead of naming our new son after someone we deeply knew and cared about or lost we wanted our son's name to be unique and stand out, so we chose, Tenzin." Katara says. "I think that is wonderful." Says Suki.
"Katara do you want to changed before you want to seen someone to get everyone else?" Asks Suki. "Yeah, can you help me up?" Asks Katara as she hands Tenzin over to Aang. Suki helps Katara get up out of bed and walk her to the privacy wall in the corner so Katara could change, Katara sat on a bench behind the privacy wall. Suki didn't go to far, she just went to grab Katara a pair of pajamas, from the closet. Suki helps Katara get changed. Xing Yang changes the bed with blood and where it was wet. Suki helps Katara back to the clean bed.
"Dad can you go get everyone please?" Asks Katara. "Sure thing." Says Katara. "Thanks Dad, and thanks for being here." Katara says. "You're welcome Katara, and I didn't want to miss the birth of my 3rd grandchild, and you did great, Katara and no matter what you will always be my little girl, love you Katara." Hakoda says, giving Katara a gentle kiss on the forehead. "Love you too." Says Katara. Hakoda leaves to get everyone.
