Go to Sleep, Everything's Alright
It was Monday and the graduating students were required to be present at the school grounds for an assessment on how much they have improved and reviewing their past mission assignments. Gojo had dropped off Yuuji at the daycare center before coming to the technical college, well he did made some stops in a couple of shops which made him arrive an hour late. He slid the door open with a bang announcing his arrival only to be met with Masamichi's glare.
"I'm here— Ehh~ where's everyone?" he asked from the doorway but before Yaga could answer someone bumped on to Satoru's back, looking behind he saw Shoko had her head bowed and pressed against his back well rather his infinity.
"Mooove." she groaned. Satoru stepped aside and Shoko slowly walked shakily towards her chair and promptly dropped her head on the desk.
"What's up with you?" Satoru asked peering down on his friend. It took one whiff of her to know that she probably went out drinking and didn't even changed out of her clothes.
"How many times have I told you not to come to school drunk?" their sensei must have smelled the alcohol from her. "and how do you keep getting out of campus when it's curfew."
"Uuggh.. please no more loud noises." she groaned again and Satoru grinned. He took out his phone and played the ringing alarm next to Shoko's ears. The reverse technique user jumped from her chair and slapped the phone off from Gojo's hand. It was quick and unexpected enough that Gojo wasn't able to extend his infinity to the object in his hand and so the phone went flying and hit their Sensei's head. Satoru and Shoko froze and sweated when an angry aura surrounded Masamichi.
When Suguro came back to the classroom after retrieving some of their mission logs from the teachers office that Yaga-sensei had asked him to fetch, he was met with his fellow classmates seated on the floor across Yaga-sensei both sporting heavy bumps on their head. The youngest of the three just shook his head and rolled his eyes before handing the papers to their sensei.
"What did you two do?" he asked as he drag one of the chair closer to them. Shoko let out a pitiful moan before she slumped to the floor, hiding her head from the noises and light that's making her head throb.
"Did she went out drinking again?" Suguro asked though he wasn't surprised at the state of his friend. Satoru just snickered and pulled out his phone to take pictures.
"I knew it was her voice shouting at the background when Utahime drunk called me last night asking me to join them. I might have joined them too if I wasn't caught sneaking out by the dorms matron." Suguro admitted.
"Why wasn't I invited?" Satoru asked indigently. And his friend just gave him a leveled stare.
"You're a lightweight. If we ever have our way— The first and last time you'll ever get to drink was when Mei-senpai took us out for your 18th birthday. Never again." from the floor Shoko shuddered at the memory of what transpired on that day.
"You're all underage will you please stop being irresponsible children." their principal gritted out, temper running short at the audacity of his students admission to their little illegal activities. They just gave him a smile with an air of fake innocence. Clearing his throat he said,
"Let's just get started with today's review."
"Mah~ sensei I don't understand why we even have to do this, we'll be graduating soon, don't you think we'll benefit more if we're out on the field instead of having to listen to you tell us how good we are."
"I agree, we could be out on the street killing off curses." Suguro added and Shoko wiggled on the floor, bringing her hand up for a thumbs up.
"You don't even go out much for missions." Satoru said and Shoko just flipped him off.
Masamichi stared at the three, pinching the bridge of his nose and counting to ten in his mind to calm himself. Why did he have to deal with these brats?
"Shoko, according to this you skipped out on two of your assigned missions to go off hunting for your favorite brand of cigarettes. Which I remind you is something you shouldn't be doing. You'll have additional hours in the morgue as punishment and there'll be constant teachers surveillance on you to confiscate your cigarettes while in college grounds." their teacher started, Shoko shot up from where she laid to protest but winced at the sudden pain in her head, Suguro taking pity grabbed her by her arm and seated her. Satoru wordlessly took of his shades and handed it to Suguro who then placed it over their classmates eyes. Shoko made a sound of appreciation before she slumped down on her desk. Yaga let the exchange happen before turning to Suguro.
"You thrashed a sacred shrine while exorcising a curse and left your auxiliary manager to apologize for the damages you caused." The younger teen just smiled and shrugged.
"It was in the way" he offered.
"According to the managers report as well," Yaga waved the paper in the air, "you also caused physical injuries to a few civilians.
"The monkeys were also in the way."
"That's not the point, you'll be assisting me in teaching some of the first years and babysitting them out on the field for a month" Masamichi grounded out and Suguro made a face at that, "and you—" he glared at Satoru.
"And me?" the white haired teen pointed to himself, his lips curved in to a smile.
"You destroyed one third of a forest and submitted the mission report in drawings, which you also placed at the bottom of past and already reviewed reports." Yaga said as he showed the trio the awful drawing.
'Are those suppose to be trees' Getou thought.
"If it weren't for Ijichi tidying the teachers office, I would have missed this. This was months ago. You also failed to put up a curtain again when you shooed away the manager assigned to put it up last week, and manage to destroy one of the cursed weapon the Zenins has lent the college. What do you have to say for yourself."
"Ehe~" Gojo giggled and stuck out his tongue and boop his head with his knuckles as an answer.
"Not cute at all." Suguro said. "Knock it off, you look like a creep."
"Excuse me I am adorable, you on the other hand looks like a guy with a wet spaghetti dangling on his forehead." the older teen retorted, Getous eyes twitched in annoyance.
"Says the guy with an old mans hair."
"Oh yeah?" Satoru stood up from where he was seated and Suguro followed suit.
"Yeah?" but before the duo could get going a fist landed on their heads and both yelped in pain.
"Ahh what was that for, you're a teacher. You shouldn't go around hitting your students in the head." Gojo complained.
"Keep this up and I'll have you repeat a year." their teacher threatened.
"You can't do that." muttered Suguro.
"I can and I will. NOW, Gojo Satoru,"
"That's me~"
"Your grounded."
"Ehhhh~"
"No missions for a month however you'll be on desk duty for the whole duration."
"I'm the heir of the Gojo clan you can't just ground me like a five year old—"
"You sure do act one" Suguro said and Satoru stuck his tongue out. The younger teen just gestured his hand at a 'see my point' motion.
"What will you guys do with your strongest sorcerer benched, you'll be helpless, you—" he was cut off when a stack of paper was dropped on his flailing arms.
"Enough, here have this all signed by the end of the day. There's more of it in my desk on the teachers office."
"Good luck" Getou waved goodbye as Masamichi dragged the pouting teen away.
"Suguro, you come with. Review tomorrows lesson plan." Satoru sent a smirk at his classmate and Getou clicked his tongue before following them out. Shoko was left dozing in the classroom.
"Man why do I have to do this" Satoru said loudly in the empty teachers office. It was nearing three in the afternoon and his hands are getting numb from all the papers he'd been filling up. He glared at the stack of paper seated in front of him, wishing to set it on fire.
"Y—you're almost finish with most of it anyway Gojou-senpai." Ijichi said as he placed another set of paper on the desk.
"Ah! Ijichi, just the person I wanted to see. So, how's the things I asked for doing?
"Oh uh I might have found a lea—" Gojou gestured the younger man to lean down, whispering 'shhh'. Ijichi followed before he continued in a hush tone.
"I might have found a lead but I'm not quite sure if it'll result to anything yet. I'll be following on it up soon. A lot of his records, extending to his relatives are gone and that in it is odd, Itadori-san might have had it erased but the name Itadori Jin did came up in a few of my searches so I'm sure I'm in the correct path." Gojou was quiet for a while before he grinned and sprung up from his chair.
"Gojou-senpai?"
"Nah~ Ijichi finish the rest up for me will 'ya?" Satoru said before dashing out of the office leaving his poor kohai to finish off his work.
Gojou skipped through the halls of the college, heading towards the teachers dorms but he stopped first in their classroom to collect the shopping bags he brought with him that got left behind when Yaga-sensei dragged him off. Shoko was no longer in the room though his sunglass was laid neatly on the desk with a note saying thanks underneath it. He immediately wore it and then went to find Yaga.
One of the teachers dorm room had been converted in to a children's room and that's were he found his sensei seated on the floor reading a story book for a sleeping kid panda. Yaga upon noticing his students presence sighed before gently adjusting the teddy bear in the Panda's arms.
"What are you doing here, don't you have paperworks to finish."
"Already done, plus I have a gift for baby Panda over there." Gojo said as he handed Yaga a bag of bamboo shoots.
"He doesn't like bamboos."
"Ehh~ shouldn't Panda's like, well bamboos?"
"He's not an ordinary Panda."
"I can see that, you went full on designing his room with cute kidsie stuffs. Neh~ why'd you make him? Even if he's a Panda he's still a kid. Aren't kids supposed to be a handful and all that."
"This ain't my first rodeo but raising kids, well theres something special about it. You don't do it because you'll get something out of it." Yaga paused. Gojou waited for the man to continue but Yaga didn't add anything.
"aaand?" Satoru prompted. Yaga glanced at him before turning his attention to the slumbering fluffy figure on the floor. "I can't explain it into words you'll just have to find the wonders off parenthood on your own." Gojou made a face at that. "God help the kid that's going to have you for a parent."
"Hey I'm a good parental figure— I mean if I ever did get a kid I'm sure I'll be the best at it too."
"That'll be a sight to see."
"Uhhg I don't want to talk nor think about any of that stuff." he already has Yuuji and the small time he has spent with the boy has been both a challenging and a wonderful experience. He kinda understood what Yaga was saying, there's nothing in it for him in the long run —taking care of Yuuji that is— but he'll do anything he can to keep the boys smile and remaining innocence intact.
"Are you just here to drop this off?" Yaga asked shaking the packet but Gojou Shook his head.
"Actually Suguro, Shoko and I, mainly me thou, decided to get you this. A present for your promotion. Next school year you'll be the colleges next principal. Thought you'll be more scary with this." Satoru laughed as he handed a small rectangular box to Masamichi who carefully took it with a raised brow. He opened it to see a pair if expensive looking shades.
"So so what'd you think? Shoko picked the design, I paid for it. Suguro just tagged along when we got this. So if you think it's ugly blame it on Shoko. Anyway, gotta go, bye~." Yaga let Satoru make his exit and briefly for a second look at the box fondly before shaking his head, features returning to its default stern appearance. He gently placed it on the table and sat back down besides Panda who was stirring in its sleep. Masamichi gently patted and stroke Panda's head who snuggled its head to his hand and let out a content sigh. A small smile crept up Masamichi's face.
