Chapter 5

*Marinette's POV*

I'm still a little dazed after yesterday's events. After Adrien and I packed away my stuff from the rooftop into my yoyo and flew to our respective homes, I collapsed on my bed, being careful not to make too much noise to attract my parents. It was 8am when I got a phone call from Adrien.

"Hi Adrien," I yawned down the phone.

"Morning Beautiful. Did you fall asleep when you got home?"

"Yeah I did. I was up nearly all night. I think the kwami's are sleeping at the moment so I have to be quiet. What's up?"

"Oh I just rang to tell you that I'm leaving home in an hour. Have you messaged Alya and Nino yet?"

"I'm just about to. Did you talk to your father?"

"Yeah I did. I'll tell you all about it later. One thing, can you ask the others to meet for lunch? I know we spent the whole night together, but I can't wait to have you to myself again!"

"Sure. I agree, I can't wait either. See you in about an hour and a half then?"

"Yes, see you then. I love you."

"Love you too. Bye." I hung up the phone and then quickly texted Alya and Nino to come over for Lunch. I then heard a noise that sounded suspiciously like a bunch of kwami's flying over to hunt for some gossip.

"Morning Marinette. How was last night?" Wayzz asked.

"Morning guys. Last night was amazing. In fact, Adrien's coming over in an hour and a half, with Plagg, so I would appreciate it if you stayed inside the egg today. Tikki and Plagg can catch you up on all the information that you need to know. Got it?"

"Yes master," all the kwami's chanted.

"Cool, now I need to sneak downstairs to the Bakery and make it seem like I just got home from Alya's."

I grabbed my overnight bag and silently climbed down the ladder and then snuck down the stairs to the back door. Phew. I didn't act like my normal clumsy self. Now I can walk into the Bakery kitchen without too many questions asked.

"Hi Mum, how's your morning been?" I greeted, giving her a hug after putting my bag down.

"Morning Sweetie. How was your sleepover," my Mum asked.

"Really good actually," I said, not completely lying.

"Sabine, we just got another order for next weekend," my dad said as he walked into the kitchen from the front of the store. "Oh morning honey. You look happy this morning."

"Thanks dad. I am actually really happy. And that's what I want to talk to you about. Adrien and I confessed our feelings to each other yesterday when we got trapped in the elevator together, and, after a very enlightening conversation, have decided to officially be together."

My parents looked at each other and smiled.

"We knew you and Adrien would one day get over yourselves and finally accept that you're made for each other," My mum exclaimed, sharing a knowing look with my dad.

"Your mum is right, we're so happy for you," my dad added.

"Thanks you guys. Also, he's coming over in an hour and then Alya and Nino are coming over for lunch." I grabbed a wonky bread roll from a pile of discard pastries before picking up my bag and going back upstairs, skipping as I went.

*Third person POV*

Tom and Sabine looked at each other and then burst out laughing.

"It's about time those two finally stopped being in denial!" Sabine laughed, holding onto her husband for support.

"I know right, I don't believe it. I'm so happy for them," Tom gasped as he stopped himself from laughing too hard.

"I can hear you guys!" Marinette shouted from the top of the stairs. "But thanks for being happy for us. When Adrien gets here, can you please send him up, he just messaged, he's on his way. I'm making us some pancakes for when he gets here!"

"Sure honey!" Both Tom and Sabine replied, laughing even harder at Mari's reaction.
