Chapter Three – Mac is Back in Town
Clearwater Baptist Church, Clearwater, Florida
Charlene MacKenzie Helmsley was back from her honeymoon with Hayworth and she went to visit her father's church in Clearwater, Florida while Hayworth packed up his apartment in New York City. On the ever-reliable counsel of Bianca Belair, the newlyweds decided to move into the Sandbox while Stephanie McMahon was on the rampage.
It certainly took Mac by surprise when she saw Bayley in the church sanctuary with the Rock. They were talking to her father about their wedding ceremony. This struck Mac as weird because Bayley and Rock lived in Los Angeles.
"Hey Dad, I'm back!" Mac said throwing her hands up joyfully and her father Charles MacKenzie spun around at the sound of her voice and ran towards her.
"My baby's back!" he said hugging the new Mrs Helmsley.
Mac looked over her father's strong shoulders at the engaged couple smiling at her from the church altar. It was a good thing she wasn't wearing her DX wedding ring, or Bayley might burn the church down trying to get it from her.
"Did you have a good honeymoon?" Bayley asked Mac and the new Mrs Helmsley approached Bayley and Rocky hoping not to make a scene in her father's church.
"I think you know the answer to that. Stephanie sent officers to our honeymoon suite in Bermuda to get my DX wedding ring," Mac replied.
Bayley gave an indifferent shrug, "That's a shame, I hear Bermuda is lovely this time of year," Bayley said and she turned to the Rock, "Where should we go on our honeymoon?"
Rocky shook his head at Bayley and gave Mac an apologetic look, "I'm sorry Stephanie sent bounty hunters to your honeymoon suite, our honeymoon suite is going to have an electrified fence around it so she won't be able to ruin ours like she did yours,"
"My honeymoon was great, Stephanie didn't ruin anything. Everything else, was perfection," Mac said sweetly her heart swelling with romantic thoughts about Hayworth, "So, what brings you two to Clearwater?"
"Well, Seth is officiating our wedding ceremony in L A and we wanted to ask your Dad for some tips. The wedding is this weekend and I want to have all the preparation I need," Bayley said and Mac laughed.
"I can't believe Seth is officiating your wedding, could you think of a less awful idea?!" MacKenzie said and Bayley furrowed her brow.
"If it wasn't for Seth, we wouldn't even be a couple, why wouldn't he officiate the wedding?" Rocky said.
"Because Bayley is in love with him!" Mac cried out.
"Who isn't?" Rocky replied and Bayley laughed.
"Yeah, relax Mac, I'm not going to do anything stupid. I just want my wedding ceremony to go off without a hitch and it will if Seth is doing the ceremony," Bayley said and Mac shook her head.
"Seth agreed to this?" she asked in disbelief.
"Yeah, he's all in," Bayley replied confidently.
"When will that man ever learn, you cannot be trusted. Something is bound to happen and it won't be something good, it'll be something bad and you know it Bayley. You might be engaged to the Rock but you are still in love with Mr Seth Rollins. He's the love of your life," Mac said and Bayley blew off the comment.
"He's the love of a lot of people's lives, including those creepy God girls he's always hanging out with. If they can hang out with Seth all day and not be accused on making moves on him behind Sasha's back, why can't I? In fact, why don't you and Haywoth come to the wedding? Then you can see for yourself just how over Seth Rollins I am," Bayley said and Mac nodded.
"I'll be there with bells on and a very heavy DX wedding ring on my finger," Mac replied.
Bayley gave her a serious look, "You're wearing your DX wedding ring to the ceremony?" she asked suddenly concerned. "I don't know if you wanna do that Mac, I'm inviting Stephanie to the wedding too. Could you not wear your ring this weekend?"
Mac shook her head sternly, "I will not hide my husband's bond to me because Stephanie's got a thing for rare and beautiful jewelery. If you want to keep things in order, I suggest you talk Stephanie out of making your wedding day all about her and her issues with the DX family," Mac replied and Bayley laughed.
"Wait, you want me to tell Stephanie McMahon to ignore you as you flaunt that DX ring in her face?!" Bayley said. "Just don't wear it, you can put it back on after the wedding's over,"
"Stephanie McMahon will not dictate how I live my life, why don't you try taking control for once Bayley? Maybe then you'll realise how much better life is when someone else isn't running it,"
"I run my own life, what Stephanie and I have is business and that's as far as it goes. All I know is that she really wants that ring, can you please take a stand on another day of the week and just come to the wedding to have a good time?" Bayley said.
"I'm sorry Bayley but my mind's made up; I'm wearing my DX wedding ring to your wedding and if Stephanie's got a problem with that, maybe she's the one who shouldn't come to the ceremony," Mac said and Bayley turned to Rocky.
"This wedding is going to be brutal. When Seth says, "You may now kiss the bride," you better kiss me good so I have something to take my mind off of all the chaos Stephanie is going to bring on Saturday," Bayley said and Rocky sighed.
"I don't want our wedding day to be dramatic, I want it to be romantic. Maybe we can ask Seth and the God girls to intervene like the way they did on HayMac's wedding day," Rocky said and Bayley furrowed her brow again.
"You really think Seth would do that for us?" she asked with uncertainty. "Kinda sounds like a lot to ask, I've really put him and Sasha through Hell. I'm happy that he even agreed to officiate our wedding, we're nowhere near being friends yet though,"
"Just ask him, he's a good dude and he works for God, so he will always put the Father before his own feelings," Rocky said and Bayley thought about it.
"Okay I'll ask him. See you on Saturday Mac," Bayley said and she hugged Pastor MacKenzie before leaving with the Rock. "Thanks for the advice,"
"You're gonna be a great wife Bayley," Pastor Mac said and his daughter's mouth hit the floor at his comments.
"What are you doing Daddy?! You can't counsel Bayley into being a good wife, she's in love with another man, a man who just happens to be her best friend's husband," Mac said and her father smiled at her confidently.
"I see a change in her MacKenzie; there's hope for Bayley yet. I think she'll be an awesome wife one day," Charles MacKenzie said. "Now as for you, do you know what you're getting yourself into with this whole DX weding ring thing?"
"Yes Dad, I do. I want to wear the ring my husband gave me. It represents legacy, love and power, why should I settle for less just because Stephanie McMahon has a bug up her butt about the DX family? The DX family is my famiily now and I want to wear the ring that says just that, regardless of the consequences. I am not afraid of Stephanie McMahon," Mac said and Carla McCool, sister of Lisa Michaels, sent Mac a picture of Charlotte Flair after the attack from Angela Jericho. Charlotte's hair had fallen out and her face was marred like she's been in a fire. Carla added a text along with the picture saying that Stephanie did this to Charlotte and suddenly Pastor Mac's newly wedded daughter wasn't so sure she wasn't afraid of Stephanie McMahon.
"Baby girl what's wrong?" Pastor Mac asked MacKenzie.
"Nothing Daddy, I gotta go to Connecticut. I'm moving into the Sandbox for awhille, I'll call you when I get there okay?" Mac said and she hugged her father who could see that something was clearly wrong.
Pastor Mac shook his head with concern as his only child left for the DX compound in Greenwich, Connecticut.
"I hope you know what you're doing baby girl," he said and he knelt at the church altar and prayed for the safety of his daughter and the entire DX family.
