Hi again, well... welcome to chapter 2. Finally we get to meet the first person... sorry... Pokémon that our Meitantei will ever meet!
Before you get into the story, just want to say, I tried to write the Point Of Views of both of them, not sure how this worked out though. Also, if you're someone who read this on the other place I shared it before, I made a couple of changes.
One other thing, like the game, there are also yes or no options. For this story, I added a choice, so you get to choose a scenario dialogue. I'll leave it at that for now.
Anyway, here is Chapter 2.

Chapter 2: Conflict & Disbelief
"Hey," A voice called out and he grumbled back in response.
"Hey! Are you alright?" Again another bout of mumbling responses back. He was tired, he just wanted to rest his aching head.
"Come on, this isn't the best place to lie down you know, anyone could come and attack... Please say you're okay." He felt the light taps of the worrying person.
Finally, he opened his eyes and slowly sat up. He expected to see the speaker, but in their place was a giant green gecko smiling happily as he arose to his feet.
"Oh good! For a second, I thought you were injured. Glad to see you're only sleeping."
He blinked, still dazed a bit. A green gecko talking? How weird. This headache must have been making him hallucinate. Is this possible? Maybe he needed to clear his vision. Instinctively, he tried to remove his glasses to clean them but found he wasn't wearing any.
'What the?' he thought. 'Where are my glasses? Wait... I wear glasses?'
Another conflicting memory since the first time he woke up. What was he to do?
"Hey, are you okay?" The gecko asked more concerned with him than before.
'Oh right, that gecko... I almost forgot he was there.' Blinking again after rubbing his eyes, the results were the same. Not an illusion, it was clearly a giant green gecko about human child height, really slightly taller than him, male from the sound of his voice, and he was talking in human language.
*Green Gecko's A.K.A. Treeko's Point Of View*
The little guy didn't say a word, simply got up and walked to the pond nearby. The fact that he hadn't responded concerned me, perhaps he was a lost baby who couldn't speak yet. Or maybe he's a new hatchling. It would explain why he was so tiny compared to the Piplup who come for vacation here on the island. I watched him dunk his head completely in the water and emerged to splash himself with more water. It baffled me why this baby was doing this, but even more so when he took his head out of the water. He looked at his reflection again and I finally heard him utter words.
"Wha... What... What am I!?" His screams caused him to expel the move bubble. An attack move that sends bubbles at an opponent. It may be pretty, but when they pop, it can sting causing a Pokémon's movement to slow down since the popping hurts. This only caused the little Piplup to stare silently before going into a panicked frenzy once more. I needed to help the lost baby who didn't even know what he was.
Slowly, I approached the young Pokémon and soothed him, "Shhh... It's okay. You're okay. It's all overwhelming, but let me help you."
The little Piplup looked at me in disbelief, "Help? How can you help me? Wait... I'm dreaming. A dream within a dream. I know! Pinch me!"
I was confused by his statement, "Pinch you?"
"Yes, pinch me! Or give me something to read! I don't know if this is true, but you can't feel pain or read in dreams. Not sure if it is accurate, but do it to me so I can wake up and be human again."
I stared at him for a while. What is he talking about? Dreaming? Being human again? This little Pokémon has quite a strange imagination. Still, I complied with his request and gave him something to read first. It was a Pokéflyer for a half-off sale at the Keckleon shop tomorrow. His face scrunched up as he examined the paper, I'm pretty sure he couldn't read it. I mean, what baby could? Most Pokémon children nowadays go to school to learn to read. So when he gave up, I decided to use a light pound attack on him to possibly knock him back to reality. But it was a little harder than I anticipated, leaving the poor Piplup with a big red mark on his forehead as well as making him nearly faint. Whoops, better get the emergency Oran berry to restore his health and stamina.
*Shinichi/Conan's P.O.V.*
The gecko's attack really hurt, I felt like I was going to faint. Maybe I'll wake up if I do. But a blue fruit was placed near my mouth, for reasons I couldn't even understand and without a second thought, I bit it. As soon as I did, this odd sensation of taste and energy surged through my body. The taste of this strange fruit, getting hurt by the gecko's tail, the strange language on the paper, everything around me should scream dream. It all shouldn't be real. But I felt it all, seen it all, and the taste of the unusual fruit, it's all real. The fruit had energized me and I felt almost healed. No medicine or food back on Earth could do such so incredible feat, instantly at that.
'I'm clearly not on Earth, or at least the Earth I remember. But if this isn't where I'm from, then where am I? Also, why am I this strange blue bubble-blowing penguin-like creature? Who's the green gecko next to me? Then there are more important questions about me. Why can't I remember anything aside from the fact I use to be human? I should remember anything myself, friends, family, where I lived? But I can't. All I know is information that I must have obtained from my studies, the two names and different ages from my supposed previous life...'
*General P.O.V*
Lost in thought, Shinichi/Conan continued to ponder on his unrealistic situation. That was until Treeko interrupted him.
"Umm... Hello? Are you listening?"
This jolted him out of his thoughts as he responded, "Huh?"
"I asked if you were okay." Conan/Shinichi nodded slowly.
"That's good. Now that you've calmed down, I have a couple of questions for you. But it's getting dark, so it's best I ask as we walk to town. Sound good?" Again, Shinichi/Conan simply nodded silently, got up, and walked with Treeko.
As they walked along the forest path, Shinichi/Conan - he really had to figure out the right name - learned a couple of things about this gecko. He was about a young teen, so about 15 to 17 in human age. He was called Treeko, treated both as the species name as well the last name. This caused a feeling of familiarity in Conan/Shinichi, of a place which he was certain his roots lie, Nippon a.k.a. Japan. As for Treeko's first name, he never did say.
Simply after he introduced himself, he swiftly went into a round of questions. Treeko asked the basic questions such as who he was, what he remembered last, and if he knew where his parents were. All he could answer was, he basically knew nothing. This was when Shinichi/Conan finally learned what exactly he became. He, like every animal-like creature in this world, is called a Pokémon, his particular species is called Piplup. Their affinity, or "type" as Treeko called it was a Water Type. Piplup are normally found north in the Water or Snow Continents or all the way at the Ice Caps in the far north or south. All this information about his current form interested him a little, but it didn't sate his need for answers as to why he was there in the first place.
Conan/Shinichi bumped into Treeko who had suddenly stopped walking and exclaimed, "Oh, that's right, I remembered something!"
"Huh?" He rubbed his beak a little of the pain from the bump. But what was it that Treeko-san forgot?
"Here, I found these a little always from where you were lying down... I assumed they belonged to you." He held out 2 items, a pair of black glasses and a nice red bowtie.
As he gazed at the items, images flashed rapidly of a little boy wearing these items and left just as fast. Conan/Shinichi soon forgot what he saw, leaving him to shake his head.
'Hmm, if they were found nearby me, I guess I wore glasses after all.'
*Treeko's P.O.V*
"Yes, those are mine. Thank you for finding them, Treeko-san." Immediately the little Piplup wore the glasses and bowtie.
'So, he wears accessories. I guess this definitely confirms he's not a newborn or total baby. But he's still a lost little Piplup. I better take him to "that place" so he can be helped.' Treeko thought, but just to make sure.
"Say, I never did catch your name."
The little Piplup lowered his head in response to that. There was that face again, a face so deep in thought and worry. It didn't look good on any child, especially this Piplup. It made him seem so much older.
He finally replied hesitantly, "Even if I did tell you, I doubt you'd believe me."
"Try me. You've already said some strange things during your frenzy, so how bad could it be? For a baby that is." The last part left unsaid.
The little Piplup took a deep breath, deciding to be honest with me, "Fine, you want the truth? There's only one truth and I'll give it to you. I have two names, but I don't know which is right. I remember being called Shinichi and I also remember being called Conan. Okay!? I want to tell you what's right, but I can't because I don't remember anything else. I can't remember my family, my friends, or even where exactly my home is. But I know I'm not supposed to be here as a Penguin Piplup Polkamon thing that attacks with saliva bubbles!" Piplup vented, heavily breathing as his complaints finished.
He seemed to let out all his frustrations and boy there were plenty. It was quite a lot to take in from a young Pokémon. It could be somehow incredibly real or completely imagined from bedtime stories about humans.

Should I believe him?

"It honestly sounds like a Clafairy tale, but you know what, I decided to believe you."
"What?" Conan/Shinichi's eyes widened in shock. This Teeeko was willing to believe him? Was it really true? His question goes unanswered as Treeko continued to speak.
"Okay, just to clarify, you are were a human now turned Pokémon. You have two names, which either one or both could be correct, but you're unsure. Do I have it right so far?" Piplup nodded in confirmation.
"Also you have no memories of your past, except for the other points I mentioned earlier." Piplup nodded again.
"Then why? Why two names? Either both your names are apart of one long name or..."
Treeko glanced at Shinichi/Conan, expecting him to finish that sentence.
"My best guess is that I had a secret identity in my human life?" He sighed.
"What, were you a super hero or a secret agent or something?" Treeko joked.
"Nuh...no... maybe? I don't know." He crossed his arms and looked away from Treeko-san.
"I'll tell you what, until you remember which is correct, let me give you a temporary new name."

"So, let me get this straight. One, you have two names, but you don't know which is right. Two, you use to be human that somehow turned into a baby Piplup. Finally, three, you have no memories of your past life except the two points I mentioned earlier. Is that correct?"
Shinichi/Conan nodded slowly at the response, looking a little annoyed at Treeko-san's wording of his situation. But internally, he was hoping even just a little that he would believe.
"You're right, I don't believe you. Humans are just fictional characters in bedtime stories told by our parents to either to teach us life lessons or to frighten us with scary stories."
Conan/Shinichi deflated, of course. If Treeko-san didn't believe him, what makes him think any other Polkamon would believe his bizarre situation?
Seeing this little Piplup sad didn't suit him at all, especially since their kind are a playful and at times a proud sort.
"Look, I'll tell you what. Until you remember what's correct, since you truly believe those names, as strange as they sound, are yours, then... I'll give you a temporary new name."

Piplup's eyes raised in surprise, "A new name?"
"Temporary new name, at least until you remember." Treeko crossed his arms and thought about some options. "Hmm... Based on your size and how you don't seem to know too much about the world... I know! From now on, you'll be known as 'Little Pip' or 'Pip' for short!"
Once Shinichi/Conan heard this, he was NOT happy about this new name. For one, it reminded him of his current stature. The Pip part, despite being apart of species name, also had a double meaning. Pip in English could be short for pipsqueak, another way of saying you're little. Being small was something he never liked cause no one took a child seriously, even the second time around was no fun... Wait, a second time? This was his second time being small, with the first being childhood, right? When did he become small a second time? He mentally filed away that thought for later. The second reason he didn't like this new name is that it was going to be a constant reminder of the cre... Uh... Polkamon...? Anyway, it's a constant reminder of what he's become. A water type penguin animal that produced it's own source of water from a move called Bubble attack. This disgusted him a little, it made him think of babies blowing saliva bubbles. But seeing as his two names were strange enough, it was probably best to accept the name to fit into this strange world.
" Fine, I don't like it, but I'll accept the name, under protest." He grumbled a bit.
Treeko smiled, "Well then, it's nice to officially make your acquaintance, Little Pip!"
"Ah, it's nice to properly meet you as well, Treeko-san."
"Oh please, call me [Insert Name Here], it's my given name."

So Shinichi/Conan... I mean... "Little Pip" has now met the first Pokémon, Treeko! Another idea inspired by some fan art of Piplup and Treeko as a team. They would probably balance each other out. I still have to work out his personality though. I also haven't thought of a name for Treeko yet. If you have any suggestions, you can let me know below or I could leave it as a self insert so Treeko can be named with whatever name you choose.
Oh, how was the scenario choice? Did you pick Yes or No? I decided to make these choices from the other character's perspective instead of Pip's. It's a bit interactive as we'll be making the decisions for him through the other characters.
Well, that's it for now, this is now updated with the one on the other site. I'll share the next part soon. Thank-Q for reading!
