No, not that one…
Not that one either…
Jhin couldn't decide which one of his precious little planets he wanted to use as his next ammunition.
He chuckled to himself, what futile planet could he destroy next, he thought to himself.
He twiddled his 'bullets' around his fingers like an elegant dance, finally selecting an orb that glowed with a mysterious ocean stared at it for a moment, almost feeling entranced by it, he hummed on the thought for a moment before returning it to the empty space between his knuckles.
"Much too beautiful to waste on something so meaningless…"
In replacement, he chose an orb that was a dull shade of orange and placed it into his pistol.
He arched his shoulder, slowly dragged up his arm and showed no hesitation in pulling the trigger, the 'bullet' collided with a planet a short distance away, left to explode and float through the rest of the emptiness of space.
This was all incredibly entertaining to him, Thresh's demands could wait, besides, it all sounded so droll...
He let out a wicked laugh, one that echoed throughout the galaxy with an unnerving tone, however, he wasn't expecting his laugh to be returned.
He heard a playful giggle in his surroundings, he turned and darted his eye around, he heard another giggle and saw a flash of pale blue out of the corner of his eye.
He stayed very still, prepared in case of a surprise attack but again, all he could hear were playful, innocent chuckles that belonged to a young woman - they sounded so childlike and full of life.
He turned around once more and his eyes met the pale blue he caught before.
He saw its tail and flowing white hair, the pleasant blue of its skin (being what he saw in passing) and charming sounds of humour coming from it.
It was a young lady… a young cosmic lady…
He stared at her, taking in her beauty and he smiled, a horrible and wicked smile.
Perhaps Thresh's plans weren't so dull after all because he was about to make her so much more beautiful…
The snap of a pair of thin, blue fingers were in Nami's face, the loud clicking snapping her back to reality.
"Nami! Pay attention!"
Nami shook her head and looked up to Lux who had a dissatisfied look on her face.
"You said you wanted help with your power, the least you could do is listen to me, Nami" She huffed, crossing her arms and raising her eyebrow at her with the passive-aggressiveness of an old teacher.
"Yeah, of course, my apologies, Lux" She cleared her throat and brought her hand by her chin
Lux took both of Nami's hands and held them in her own, they felt cold but in an oddly comfortable way, she looked into her eyes and found strength and kindness.
"Close your eyes and take a deeeeeep breath… what do you see"
Nami followed her instructions and sat in the dark, staring at nothing, like she expected.
"Um… nothing" she hummed to her, feeling Lux's thumbs rub circles on the top of her hands
"Try and focus on your heart, do you feel it glow? manifest that glowing into your power" She cooed to her, allowing her to relax
Nami focused all of her feelings into her chest and she scrunched her eyebrows.
"Ah-ah! Don't do that, you need to relax."
Nami groaned and let go of Lux's hands, glaring down in frustration.
"We've done this technique a hundred times! It isn't working!" She yelped, feeling the blood rush to her face
"You aren't going to get your power over night! You have to be patient and allow it in, let's try again"
Nami looked at her in annoyance
"Don't sulk at me, try again… c'mon!" She twitched her hands towards Nami's own and encouraged her to hold onto them again, when she did she gave a satisfied sigh and smiled at her
"Okay, again, close your eyes and take a deep breath, feel that energy in your heart"
Nami reluctantly closed her eyes, taking in a deep breath and letting out a gentle sigh.
She focused all of her energy into her chest, trying to focus on her heart like Lux was telling her.
She thought about nothing…
nothing…
. . .
He craves for you and only you
Nami's eyes sprung open and she let out a yelp, bringing a hand to her chest.
Her heart was pounding so hard she felt it in her head, sweat was running down her back, her face turned white - it was like she'd seen a ghost.
"What! What happened?" Lux look horrified, she was almost out of her seat
"It's just… I heard something!" She panted
"You heard something? What did you hear?" Lux asked with urgency in her voice, gliding over to her and gently laying a hand on her shoulder in an effort to calm her down so she could speak clearly.
"A voice… It said… um…" She struggled for a moment
"He craves for you and only you…?"
Lux looked surprised, as if she was expecting to hear something else entirely.
"He… who could 'he' possibly be?..." Lux looked at Nami, as if she was looking straight past her but into her mind simultaneously, she pondered on who this mystery man was.
"Hecarim?" Nami asked, cocking her head slightly
"Maybe he has a crush on me" She giggled with that childish positivity she was known for.
"Your power isn't to find out who has a crush on who, it's much more important than that!" Lux spat at her, she sounded more annoyed than intended leaving Nami sat in shock and without a doubt, her feelings hurt.
"Nami, I'm sorry...I-I didn't mean to yell.." Lux herself even looked shocked at her outburst, she immediately floated over to Nami to hold her in an embrace.
"You know when you ask us what makes you so special? It's this… Nami, you have been given the power of predicting one's destiny, all of our destinies… You have the ability to end the Dark Star once and for all"
Nami gasped, unsure of whether to let go of Lux or not.
All this time she really was important… All this time she really was special.
She felt an ache form in her chest and she began to sob.
She doubted her Queen and her siblings for making her feel like less but all this time, she was so incredibly valuable.
Oh, how naive she truly was… The Queen was right, she was just a child.
She cried into Lux's shoulder for what felt like an eternity, she felt her comforting touch on her back and a pleasant coo in her ear, but she didn't try to calm her down, instead she was allowing her to let all her feelings come pouring out.
She finally felt like she understood; why nobody told her, why she had to follow so many rules and why everyone was so clueless when she asked them questions.
It was to protect her…
She slowly let go of Lux and looked up to her with sore eyes.
"You're telling me, I can predict everyone's destiny?" She asked, little sobs interrupting her
Lux gave her a warm smile and gently nodded.
"We wanted to tell you for so long, but this kind of power is incredibly strong and can be used recklessly, we wanted to make sure you were old enough" She dragged her fingers through her flowing white hair.
"and now you are" She hummed, looking at the grin appearing on her younger sibling's face.
"I am?" She asked, hope returning to her voice
"You still have a lot to learn though so don't get too ambitious!" She giggled, bringing her hands to Nami's face and cupping them gently, she brought her forehead to hers and sighed happily
"I am so proud of you, little sister…"
Nami sniffed and smiled so hard she couldn't feel her cheeks, she yearned to bond like this with her siblings and now she finally could.
Her life felt so bland and meaningless before this but now she understood everything, she had love for her family and court like she always wanted.
Now they could be one big happy family...
"We should tell Queen Ashe…"
Lux sprung up, causing Nami to yelp in surprise.
"You're right! We need to tell her immediately!" She grabbed Nami's hand and rushed her through the many glistening halls of the court.
They arrived at the throne room, entering without a knock, something Lux could do considering her status.
"Lux, I trust that you bring important news?" The Queen asked across the room, her leg crossed over the other, her eyes looking as intimidating as usual.
"Yes, my Queen, very important indeed" Lux's tone had changed immediately, she was the most dedicated and efficient person for the job as the Queen's right hand, it almost disturbed Nami how easily she could switch off her personality.
"Nami had her first vision from our training together"
The Queen's regal expression dropped for the first time that Nami was aware of, her eyes met the Queen's and she saw the realisation in her eyes.
She immediately stood up and approached Nami.
"Nami… What was your vision?" She asked with seriousness in her voice, this definitely wasn't the conversation to be wasting any time on.
"I heard a voice, it said to me 'he craves for you and only you'"
The Queen's face twisted in confusion, she almost looked angry.
"He? He who?"
"I don't know, that's all I heard" Nami began to feel her body freeze.
"What did it sound like? Was the voice familiar?"
"Uhm…?"
"This is really important, Nami, did you recognise the voice at all" The Queen sounded much more demanding this time.
She shook her head quickly and felt her lip quiver, The Queen and her right hand exchanged glances and nodded to each other.
"Nami, will you please excuse me and Lux, we must have an important conversation, I will call for you later"
"but, My Queen, I-" Nami stammered, fighting so hard to stay
"Now!" The Queen interrupted, her sharp finger pointing to the door, it shook with impatience.
"Yes, your grace..." She bowed her head in defeat and turned to leave, as she was swimming out of the throne room, she couldn't help but feel a deep pain sink into her heart.
Her Queen wasn't proud of her…
She entered the foyer with her head held low and her chest feeling tight, she couldn't hold back her urge to cry.
She let out small whimpers that turned into full blown sobs, she brought her hands to her face to try and conceal her sadness.
"Nami, are you okay?"
She looked up with puffy eyes and saw one of her older siblings, Yi.
He stood as gracefully as ever but as always, she could sense his empathy.
It got annoying eventually...
"Y'know what… No! I'm not okay, when have I ever been okay!" She yelped, running out of the foyer doors, her sobs trailing behind her.
She heard the pleas of her older brother demanding that she return but she was too far to consider turning back.
She was too preoccupied by her anguish, she thought she had finally gotten somewhere but once again, she was left disappointed.
All she ever wanted was to be treated like the rest of the court; to have respect, to be listened to and not treat like such an idiotic child.
"I'm not special! Just lies after lies after lies! I want someone to take me seriously!" She howled, swimming away from the court as fast as she could.
Such under-appreciated beauty...
A power ring sounded in Nami's head, it caused her to halt to a stop and yelp out in pain, bringing her hands to her head in an attempt to ease the discomfort.
You are truly remarkable…
"Get out of my head!" She screamed, the visions pounding into her brain like a boulder rolling down a hill.
Don't close your eyes, I want you to see!...
...and everything started to fade, dizziness consumed her body.
Her head felt like waves crashing against each other during a storm, her vision blurred and she felt like she was falling deeper and deeper into a murky lake.
By instinct, she shakingly spread out her arm to reach out, desperate to hold onto something, anything.
She began to see a tall and dark man walk towards her, sightings of him began to appear and reappear right in front of her, she stopped breathing, all she could see was a piercing, violet eye.
