Chapter Sixteen – Card Sharks
The Sandbox
After much debate, the Ortons agreed to let Rebecca Michelle and RJ Orton bring their newborn baby girl back to the Sandbox instead of to their apartment in Manhattan. Since Seth was taking Abiyah to Aruba with Roman, the nursery on the North wing of the Sandbox was available.
"Don't worry about all the blue and masculine toys, Seth and Sasha will be outta here at the end of the month, then Shawn and I can have this whole nursery re-decorated in soft pink and green," Hunter said and the Ortons looked at him strangely.
"Why green?" Randy asked Hunter.
"For DX, duh," Hunter replied like Randy had asked the dumbest question on the planet. "This is our home, we have to have some kind of representation. I mean ideally, I would have preferred if Remi had a boy,"
"Hey!" Remi said offended.
"What, there are way too many girls in this family," Hunter said and his daughters looked at him shaking their heads.
"We know you love us Daddy, it's your ex-wife you're mad at, not us," LC Helmsley said whle the other Helmsley Girls gathered around Remi and RJ.
"You alright there man?" Seth asked RJ Orton who was a little nervous about living at the Sandbox with Shawn and Hunter.
"Yeah, this is the happiest day of my life! I'm just a little anxious about being under the same roof as DX. The last time Remi and I were here, we kinda got into an argument about you and Sasha," RJ said and Seth tried not to let his unpleasant feelings for his wife show on his face.
"Why don't you focus on the latest addition to the Orton family? I'm sure your beautiful baby girl will be more than enough to occupy your time while you're here," Seth said and RJ shrugged.
"Not really, don't get me wrong she's beautiful but she's a newborn. The cool stuff won't start to happen for months, in the mean time, I'd much rather keep tabs on what God is saying about you and Sasha," the young prophet said.
"That won't be necessary RJ, I've got four amazing women, plus Faith Star, looking out for us. We don't need another person telling us how to Bayley-proof our marriage," Seth said.
RJ furrowed his brow at Seth, "Why are you being so defensive?" he asked the Prayer Warrior.
"I'm not being defensive, I just don't want this day to be about me and Sasha. It's time for someone else to be in the spotlight and it should be you, Remi and your baby. What's her name?" Seth asked changing the subject.
"We've decided to call her Rogan," RJ said and Becky Lynch's ears perked up at RJ's response to Seth's question.
"Rogan is a boy's name kid; it's Irish, it means "red-head," she said.
"I love it, I mean sure she's a girl but the name is proof that she should have been a boy. Now she'll have something to live up to her whole life," Hunter said.
"I don't know, giving a girl a boy's name, sounds a little confusing to me," Chyna said.
"No it's okay," Rebecca Michelle said. "Her official name will be Rebecca Rogan but we wanted to take the attention off the fact that Rebecca was the name of Uncle Shawn's first wife,"
"It's also my real name so, win-win!" Becky Lynch said and she reached out for the baby, "Can I hold Double R for a second?"
"Of course you can Bex, from one goregous red-head to another," Rebecca Michelle said and Becky gushed.
"Oh bless you Remi," Becky said as she held the newborn in her protective arms.
Seth watched Becky cautiously, "Don't get too attached to the baby Lynch, we all know what happens when you get close to other people's children. Your maternal instincts kick in and you're about as much use to me as headache without aspirin,"
"Hey it's not my fault Beth Hardy went to the dark side okay? I just hope we can bring her back before it's too late," Becky said and she smiled down at Rebecca Rogan, "I pray your Ma will never turn you against me," she said to Double R and Seth took the baby from her.
"Okay that's enough Bex, I can see you're eyes are starting to water. Why don't you go punch something and re-focus?" he said giving Rebecca Rogan to Shawn Michaels, her grandfather.
"I love the name guys and in the tradition of all Michaels children, she is going to be a heart-breaker," he said proudly and the God girls reviewed the Michaels side of the DX family and nodded in agreement that they were certainly a bunch of good-looking people.
Hunter took issue with Shawn's side of the family being held in such high regard over his side.
"I strongly disagree with that statement, if Rebecca's good looks come from anyone, it'll be the Stratus-Orton side of the family," Hunter said and the Ortons looked at him like he was crazy.
"Don't spoil the moment Hunter, why don't you all go make us some ice tea while we put the baby down upstairs?" Trish said and Hunter stormed off to do just that while complaining that everyone was taking him for granted.
The rest of the guests accompanied Remi and RJ to the North wing while Seth stayed downstairs with the God girls.
"Roman's waiting for me at the airport, we'll be leaving for Aruba tonight," he said to Bianca, Bliss, Becky and Charlotte.
"You're not taking Shawl?" Alexa asked him.
"I'm taking Shawl with me but I'm not gonna fly to Aruba on Shawl, Roman has this annoying habit of falling asleep on him and Shawl just wasn't designed to carry that much weight," Seth said. "It was hard enough when Sasha was pregnant,"
"So what's the plan? Are you going to confront Bayley?" Charlotte asked Seth.
"Actually, I think Roman and I are going to play it cool, you know, act like we're in Aruba by total coincidence and let Bayley fall into her own trap," Seth said and the God girls furrowed their collective brows.
"Why would you be in Aruba other than to see Bayley?" Becky asked not convinced by Seth's plan.
"Well I'm going with the story that Roman and I just wanted to take a guy's trip and I wanted him to spend some time with Abiyah outside of the United States, before Sasha and I leave for Saudi Arabia," Seth said but the God girls still looked unconvinced by his plan.
"So, you're going to arrive in Aruba and not make any effort to contact Bayley, hoping that she will just come to you on her own?" Alexa said.
"She's Bayley, of course she'll come to me on her own. The minute she finds out I'm staying at the same hotel as her and Rocky, she won't be able to stay away from me," Seth said confidently.
"That's True," Bianca said. "I like the plan, I say go for it, plus you got Roman there to watch your back and it'll be Abiyah's first time out of the country. Aruba has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, you should take him to see the starfish!"
"It's not a real vacation moron," Becky said rebuking Bianca and she turned back to Seth. "I gotta say Seth, I have a real problem you being anywhere near Bayley after what happened at the BayRock wedding reception,"
"Relax Bex, this is one interaction between me and Bayley that will not end in a kiss," Seth said with certainty.
"No but it will end with Sasha yelling at you for not telling her why you went to Aruba with Roman and Abiyah," Alexa Bliss said. "Are you sure you don't want to tell her what you're really doing before you go? It could make things worse if you keep this from her,"
"I told you Bliss, if I tell her, she'll try to stop me. Bayley's got her totally deceived, this is a risk I have to take. I have seven days guys, just hold up your end of the bargain and keep my wife occupied while I'm gone," Seth said.
"You got it Seth," Bianca said and the other God girls nodded in agreement.
"Okay now let's pray before I go," Seth said and the God girls prayed over him before he left to meet Roman at the airport with Abiyah. Hunter watched them in the foyer from the DX kitchen, he overheard everything they said and was furious that once again, Seth and the God girls were keeping him in the dark.
"Bayley and Rocky are going to be in for more than just one surprise," he said to himself and he went to his tablet and booked a first class flight to Aruba, with the intention of cutting Roman and Seth's trip to Aruba very short.
