CHAPTER 2: BEACH DAY
A couple of hours later, Krissy came out of her and Red's room dressed in a purple bikini ready to go to the beach. Her aunt and uncle rented them a van so they can drive wherever they wanted while in Australia. Red then exited wearing a multi-colored bikini joining her girlfriend. They were waiting on everyone else.
"Hurry up, we're about to leave!" Krissy called out.
"We're comin'!" That was Joey's voice calling out. The first to come out was Charlie Brown, dressed in his swim trunks, followed by Frieda, Linus, Eudora, Peppermint Patty, Franco, Marcie, Franklin, Claudia, Skylar, Jadan, and finally Joey. All were dressed in their swimsuits and ready for a day at the beach.
"How are we going to get passed the dogs?" wondered Marcie.
"You know they'll try to join us at the beach," added Linus.
"We'll just have t' sneak by 'em," said Jadan. "They're in th' backyard with Hops right now. She should keep 'em busy."
"Snoopy's pretty resourceful," said Charlie Brown. "He usually finds a way to join us, even if it means him getting kicked out of somewhere."
"Okay, but let's leave quietly," said Krissy. And everyone crept out the front door and entered the van. Luckily it didn't start loud and they were able to leave without incident. Little did they know, though, that Hops had Snoopy, Gracie, AND Woodstock in her pouch hopping not too far behind them.
In the van, Claudia had a bit of a concern. "The ocean's n-not too loud, is it?" she asked. "I'm afraid the c-c-crashing of the w-waves will be too loud f-for me."
"I know 'bout your sensitive hearin', cuz," said Jadan. "There's nothin' t' worry about. If the beach is crowded with people, then it will be a bit noisy. But usually, th' beach we're goin' to is usually tranquil. The waves ain't that loud."
"I h-hope so," said Claudia. "I have my ear p-protectors just in c-case."
"Crikey, this girl!" groaned Joey.
"Joey!" snapped Krissy.
"Sorry, Kris," said Joey, half-heartedly. He didn't say too much more for the rest of the trip to the beach, which was fine with everyone.
After getting everything out of the van and setting up camp in a spot near the water, Jadan took Claudia up on a hill to let her hear how tranquil this beach was. Outside of a surfing contest, it was mostly locals at the beach than tourists. The tourists had their own beach they frequented.
"Y-You're right, Jadan," said Claudia. "The beach is pr-pretty calm and p-p-peaceful."
"Ah told ya so," said Jadan, smiling. Joey came running up to the girls.
"JADAN! CLAUDIA!" he yelled, startling Claudia. "Krissy wants ya!"
"Oh boy!" sighed Jadan. Both girls went to see what Krissy needed. What they saw was Gracie and Snoopy getting kicked off the beach. Charlie Brown and Frieda were also there.
"I told you you'd get kicked out for being a beagle/Dalmatian hybrid," scolded Krissy to Gracie, who just huffed and pouted.
"Oh boy," sighed Claudia. Meanwhile, Charlie Brown was having his own conversation with Snoopy.
"Head back to the house, Snoopy," he said. "Dogs can't be on this beach." Snoopy and Gracie reluctantly got back in Hops' pouch and headed back to the Grandin house.
"Our dogs, eh, Charles?" said Krissy.
"Tell me about it," sighed Charlie Brown.
