Shinobu POV

The cold night air burns my lungs as I run through the night. I'll have to find a hiding place soon, the sun is not far from rising. The sound of footsteps comes closer as I look around wildly for a place to hide. Giving up, I decide to pull out my katana. The person comes closer, and I brace myself. Suddenly, I notice that I have shrunk to about the size of an orange. I quickly duck into a nearby bush.

Huh? Kanao?

I grow back to my normal size, rushing to greet her, forgetting that I am now a demon. "Kanao!" "Master?" Kanao asks looking in my direction. She pointed her blade at me.

Kanao POV

Nee-san stood in front of me, alive and uninjured. No. It wasn't possible, she died. But...they never found the body. When she raises her head to look at me, her eyes are demon's eyes, and she has fangs. Nee-san seems to keep her humanity, as she remembers my name.

I pull out my coin to decide whether to bring her back to the butterfly estate or leave her here. Then I remember what Tanjiro told me. To follow my heart. I look at the demon in front of me, choosing to bring her back to the butterfly estate. I grab her hand. She doesn't attack, willingly going along with me. We reached the estate before sunrise.

Nobody's POV

Tanjiro was waiting for Kanao at the butterfly estate. He had come to visit her, knowing that she had been extremely sad and distant after her sister's disappearance. Tanjiro breathed a sigh of relief seeing Kanao emerge. Then he noticed a figure standing next to her. He looked closer. "Shinobu-san?" Walking toward them, the young demon slayer noticed that the butterfly hashira showed demon features; fangs, and demonic eyes. He sniffed the air around her. She had the scent of a demon.

Seeing how Kanao seemed comfortable with a demon next to her, Tanjiro didn't draw his sword. Instead, he called out to Kanao. "Kanao? Who's that?" She walked to him and explained how this demon looked like her missing older sister, and that she doesn't seem to attack people.

He asked if he was allowed to let Nezuko see her, as Nezuko seemed to be able to tell who was a threat and who was not. Kanao agreed, but said they should bring her inside first because the sun was about to rise.

Once in the house, Nezuko walked toward demon Shinobu and gave her a head pat. Shinobu gave her a hug in return. She gave Kanao a hug too. "Moshi Moshi. Did you really think I would attack you?"

Tanjiro and Kanao both shook their heads while Nezuko just stared. Tanjiro spoke first. "Shinobu-san, Tomioka-san was really worried when you went missing. We all thought you died." The next thing he said scared the insect hashira. "Tomioka-san barely ate or slept since you were presumed dead. Everyone's worried about his health, but he won't speak to anyone." Tanjiro said sadly.

SO I ENDED THIS WITH A HORRIBLE CLIFFHANGER. I PROMISE THE NEXT CHAPTER WILL BE MORE INTERESTING.
