One shot, Marinette is a Nerd and Adrien is the popular boy. Adrien in school is flirty and never really talks to Marinette. In real life, Adrien is a sweet boy and only shows this side to his best friend, Nino. Marinette is shy, and her only friend is Alya. She always wears dark clothes, so she wouldn't stand out. But, that all changes when she goes to Adrien's house for a pair project….

Marinette walked up the steps of her school and sighed. She really didn't want to deal with people today. Usually she would want to see Alya, but even now she was in no mood to talk to her best friend. There was just some kind of heavy air today. Like, something really bad was going to happen.

She straightened her black sweater that matched with her black skirt. Some black flats and her hair was in a messy bun. The same colours as she always wore. Marinette silently walked inside the school and quickly made her way towards her locker, without being noticed.

She didn't really need to make much effort since almost no one took a look at her ever. Marinette was always the shy one and only talked to Alya. She was practically invisible. Which was just the way she liked.

Marinette grabbed the stuff she needed for the first period and tucked the rest of her stuff back in her locker. She made it to the classroom as silent as a mouse and sat next to Alya, who was already seated. Alya turned to Marinette and wanted to ask her how she was doing, but when she saw how tired Marinette was she smiled and put a hand on her shoulder.

Marinette noticed the hand and smiled back. Alya knew exactly when she needed a break and would pry. Most students were already seated, but lo and behold, Adrien Agreste came in just as the last bell rang.

Girls sighed as he came in and sat next to Nino. Adrien smiled at those girls and they swooned. Marinette rolled her eyes and focused on grabbing her textbook. It's not that Adrien wasn't handsome, because he was, but Marinette just didn't like his attitude. She didn't like how he treated the girls and was almost certain that he broke all their hearts.

The teacher started the lesson and Marinette took notes. When it was almost time for second period the teacher announced something that made Marinette's worst nightmare come true. A. Pair. Project.

It was fine as long as she was with Alya, but her other partner was Nino(they were the first names that were called). Alya gave Marinette a sympathetic look and she just put her head on the table. As the teacher called the rest of the pairs, Marinette noticed that her name wasn't called yet and she started to panic.

Then as the teacher called out the last names, she just wanted to crawl in a big, black hole. Her partner was Adrien freaking Agreste. The classroom was silent after that and everyone was looking at either Marinette or Adrien.

Adrien didn't mind. He had no hate towards the shy nerd, but it would look bad if he was happy. He always wanted to talk to Marinette and maybe even show her how he really was. That would be amazing. Someone else knowing who he really was, so that he could talk to someone else who didn't really know him as well as Nino.

Marinette was absolutely against that idea. She never wanted to interact with Adrien, seeming as he is the most popular boy in school. That would make her stand out and that was the last of what she wanted! At least that's what she thought. Marinette was also very lonely and could maybe use some more friends, but she wasn't ready yet.

The bell rang and the first one out of the classroom was Marinette. Adrien sighed and turned to Alya.

"Hey, can I ask you something?" Alya raised a brow and folded her arms on her desk.

"If you're asking me to become your girlfriend then it's a no. If you're asking for Marinette's number then I will happily give it to you!" Adrien's eyes widened in surprise as it was like Alya had just read his mind.

He didn't think it was a good idea to talk to Marinette inside school, as he respected her shyness and didn't want to put a lot of attention on her. That's why he was about to ask Alya for her number so they could talk in private. Or, text in private.

"How did you know that?" Adrien asked, grabbing his phone as he felt it buzz.

"Because I know you're a good boy." Alya replied as he put her phone back into her pocket. Adrien turned to Nino, glaring daggers at the DJ. Nino gulped and chuckled nervously. Adrien rolled his eyes and grabbed his bag. He put the number of Marinette's phone in his contacts and texted her.

'Hey, this is Adrien. I wanted to ask if it was okay to do the project at my house today. And don't worry, I'll play nice~ ;)' Adrien internally groaned as he saw what he had sent. Way to start a conversation Agreste. Not too long after she replied.

'Okay.' Adrien stared confused at his phone. Just 'Okay'? No more questions of how he got her number? No complaints about going to his house instead of hers? Marinette was an interesting girl.

Time skip After school, 'cuz I'm lazy…

Marinette waited at her house to get picked up by Adrien. They agreed that they would do it this way, since they would attract too much attention if Marinette stepped into his car in front of the school.

Marinette was pissed. At Alya. She had given her best friend's number to the #1 popular, probably playboy, boy of the school. At first she was freaking out, but she thought, if she just replied short, he wouldn't pry and she was right.

A black car rolled up in front of the bakery and the door was opened by Adrien who was inside. Marinette nervously stepped in and sat as far away from Adrien as possible. Adrien sighed and looked out of the window. No words were spoken.

When they rolled up at Adrien's mansion, Marinette's eyes widened and her mouth slightly opened. She had heard he had a mansion, but didn't think it would be this huge. Adrien chuckled and Marinette snapped out of her trance and blushed.

They made it inside and Adrien quickly ushered her up the stairs to avoid talking to his father. When Marinette stepped into his room she had the same expression on her face when she saw the mansion.

"You should close your mouth or you'll catch flies." Marinette turned to the voice to see Adrien sitting in his desk chair and smirking. Marinette just rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, like there would be flies in here. When do you even get fresh air?" She mumbled and took a seat in the second desk chair. Adrien blinked and laughed. Marinette was taken aback by this and just stared at him in confusion.

"Marinette, you gotta tell me how you came up with that." Adrien managed to get out between his laughs. Marinette stared confused at the blood boy and waited until he stopped laughing.

"What do you mean?" She asked. Adrien shook his head and grabbed his text and notebook out of his bag and Marinette followed.

"Nothing, let's just get started." Marinette nodded and they got started. While working on the project, Marinette noticed that Adrien was kind and comfortable around her. It weirded her out at first, but started to get used to it and showed Adrien how she always acted around Alya.

Adrien was surprised at Marinette as well. He had seen how she acted around Alya from afar and secretly wished she could be like that around him. He really liked it that she had opened up to him. He could tell her how he really was.

After a couple hours they were finished and they both stretched. They had been seated there the entire time. Only to stop to grab some snacks and something to drink. It was around dinner time and Adrien thought he should take a small dare.

"Since we're finished and it's already pretty late, how about you stay the night?" Marinette stiffened and slowly turned to Adrien with a frightened look on her face. Adrien's heart stopped at the look in her eyes and furrowed his brows.

"I-I don't think t-that's a good idea…" She muttered and cast her eyes towards the floor. Then it clicked in Adrien.

"Mari, I'm not gonna do anything to you. I just want to have some company. I-I'm scared of being all alone…" He did it. He had opened up to her. Maybe a little bit more than he first wanted, but he didn't regret it. The softness on Marinette's face when she saw the tears in his eyes, threatening to fall was so beautiful.

"Adrien, I'm sorry I thought like that. I-I wouldn't mind staying here for the night." Adrien's face lit up as he picked up the raven haired girl and hugged her tight.

"Thank you." Adrien whispered in her ear. Marinette was frozen on the spot, but returned the hug after a few seconds and blushed. Maybe Adrien wasn't that bad after all…..

Next Morning..

Okay, I take it back. Adrien is horrible.

"Please, Mari! It would mean the world to me!" Adrien was begging the shy nerd to put on one of his father's designs and go to school with him. "I want to show everyone that you are a lovely, beautiful princess who deserves people's stares." Marinette blushed at the last statement and looked away.

Adrien smiled, knowing she had already given in. "F-flattery won't get you anywhere, Agreste. But, maybe you're right…." Adrien jumped up and hugged her tight. Marinette smiled and gave into the hug.

"You won't regret it, I promise!" Marinette laughed at the enthusiastic boy. She had come to the conclusion that Adrien was a child. They way he pouted when he didn't get what he wanted and they way his eyes sparkled when he did get what he wanted.

Adrien came back with some clothes and Marinette walked to the bathroom. When she was done putting the outfit on she gasped.

This is the outfit, too lazy to explain(in Wattpad you can see the outift under the same name)

When she walked out of the bathroom, Adrien stopped breathing. Marinette was beautiful. He didn't care if he was staring or if his mouth was hanging open. All he could think about was how stunning and beautiful Marinette was.

Adrien was brought back to reality when Marinette's voice rang through the room. "You should close your mouth or you'll catch flies." A smirk was plastered on her face and Adrien could help but smirk back.

"I don't think there are any flies in here." He replied back as he stepped closer to her. When he was right in front of her, he stared into her blue-bell eyes. They were so pretty and full of life. Her eyes were somewhat grey before and looked sad, but now, the life and light had sprung back into them. And it was all thanks to Adrien.

The moment was interrupted when a knock was heard on the door and Nathalie stepped in, telling them that the car was ready to take them to school. Marinette suddenly frowned and started breathing heavier. Adrien slid his hand into hers and squeezed it tight.

"Don't worry, I won't leave you alone today." Adrien smiled and Marinette couldn't help but to smile back. They walked out of the mansion hand in hand, which didn't go unnoticed by a certain cold father.

As they stepped into the car and got closer to the school, Marinette started to get nervous again. Adrien squeezed her hand again, but it didn't seem to help this time so he went for the second option. He kissed her cheek.

Marinette's face turned red in an instant and Adrien slightly chuckled. Somehow, it did calm her nerves, though. She smiled at Adrien again and closed her eyes to calm down a bit more.

As they reached the school, a lot of girls were waiting outside for Adrien to come out of his car. Including Nino and Alya, since Nino was waiting for his bud and Alya was waiting for Marinette.

What they didn't expect however was the following. Adrien stepped out first, which was totally normal. What unexpected was that his hand was intertwined with another and that person was Marinette, who nervously followed Adrien.

The girls all went silent and Alya had swooped out her phone to take pictures of them. Totally expecting this outcome. Adrien didn't let go of Marinette's hand as they walked over to Alya and Nino, who had his jaw on the floor.

"Hey, Nino, Alya. What's up?" Before Nino could say something, Alya had run over to her BFF and engulfed her in a tight hug, which made her let go of Adrien's hand.

"Girl, you look amazing! Where did you get that outfit?" And before Marinette could answer a shilling shriek was heard.

"MARINETTE DUPAIN-CHENG! What the hell were you doing in my Adrikins' car?!" Yep, you guessed it. It was Chloe. Adrien's mood instantly turned down and when Chloe got closer to him, he grabbed Marinette and hugged her from behind.

"Marinette did nothing Chlo. I was the one who invited her to my house last night." Adrien smirked. Marinette blushed and that was enough for Chloe to faint. Marinette and Adrien looked at Chloe on the floor and then at each other. Then they bursted out in laughter.

Alya and Nino quickly followed. After the laughter died down, the entire school was watching them and waiting for an answer. Adrien smirked again and turned Marinette around to face him.

"Let's give them the shock of their lives." Adrien whispered and Marinette smirked, as she caught on what Adrien meant. They turned sideways so that everyone could see them and smashed their lips together.

Gaspes and cries of heartbrakes could be heard, but that didn't matter to the two. They were in their own little world. This was probably the best pair project they had ever done.
