Since Annabeth's morning tirade to Percy a few days ago Calypso hadn't darkened the door of the mansion. Neither had any of his normal girls either. This was the longest she had ever seen the mansion whoreless.
The Fourth of July was quickly approaching and so was the party Percy hosted at the mansion. Annabeth had been busy planning this for the last week. Making final preparations without running anything by Percy. The only thing they spoke to each other about was the weather.
He was steering clear of any topic that might trigger another one of her outbursts. Almost, like he was afraid she would call him out on his bullshit again. He was probably right, she would call him out.
Annabeth had also noticed that Percy had called off the hit on Nico. She didn't know the details just that she had called Nico the next day and he was fine and was still alive. Annabeth hadn't asked Percy about it, yet.
She wasn't as afraid of him anymore.
Although she had been ignoring the better part of her judgement the one that told her to take revenge on him for Luke. To take revenge on him for using her on their honeymoon. But honestly, how could she really take revenge on him for their honeymoon when she had been just as willing.
If not more.
Annabeth couldn't deny they had a spark. They had something between them that she didn't have with Luke.
She had learned over the past couple weeks that Luke had just been a safe haven, a place where she could distract herself from Percy. She had mistook this feeling for something more, when she really just should have kept him as a friend.
It didn't excuse what Percy did to him though.
Now, though she was suspecting that he did it more out of jealousy than anything else. Percy had been jealous of Luke, not that he would ever admit that to her.
All of these newfound revelations had Annabeth reeling. She didn't know where she stood on her feelings so for now, everything was on hold. She just went about her life as normal as possible, living day to day while pushing aside her conflicting emotions.
They were in a precarious state. Annabeth felt like they were waiting on something to tip to the scales, they were waiting on something to move them into one direction or the other. It was hard not knowing where she stood with him. She did know that she hadn't forgotten what it felt like to be with him. She hadn't forgotten what it felt like to run her fingers down his bare chest.
She wanted to do it again, she wanted to feel him against her, but she would never admit that to him. If they ever put themselves in that position again, it would be because of him. It would be because he wanted it, he would have to come to her.
Annabeth watched as party trucks and movers lifted tables, chairs and tents all around the gardens of the mansion. She sat on the terrace overseeing the entire thing. So far it was just heavy things that need to be lifted, when it actually came to place settings and table decor she had called in Katie for help.
The guest list for the party was huge, only the best and most influential people were invited. Of course her mother would be there. No doubt that would give Percy a chance to flaunt his relationship with Annabeth, to make Athena believe that "they" would be a viable option to take over Olympic Industries when the time came.
Annabeth was the heir to Olympic Industries, it didn't matter how much work Malcolm put into it. Athena had made it perfectly clear that when the time came Annabeth would be the one to run the billion dollar corporation. Percy knew this, he knew that when the time came it would be Annabeth's and if they were married, it would be his too.
He could and would manipulate her to do his bidding through her company. It scared her the amount of resources they had, the amount of things he could accomplish through her name. It didn't matter that they were more friendly than usual, Annabeth didn't think anything could stop Percy and his plans.
"Looks like you have everything under control."
Annabeth turned toward the voice and smiled, "It's nothing I can't handle."
Percy chuckled, "I can see that."
Annabeth turned her focus back to the workers as he spoke, "I'm going into the city, I was wondering if you wanted to come with me. I can get Charles to oversee this before Katie arrives."
She stood there, a little stunned before she said anything. After a few seconds she turned toward him, "As long as lunch is involved, I'm starving."
Percy smiled, the same smile she fell for in the Maldives, "Of course it is."
Annabeth nodded, "Let me freshen up, then."
When she made it back to her room she changed, applied a bit more makeup and fluffed her hair. She met him on the back terrace fifteen minutes later, Charles was already standing in the middle of the workers watching them warily. Annabeth laughed, making Percy turn around.
"What?"
Annabeth shrugged, "Does he always wear that begrudging expression?"
Percy nodded, "Yeah."
Annabeth frowned, "He shouldn't he's a handsome man."
Percy raised an eyebrow, a playful glint in his eyes, "Handsome?"
She rolled her eyes, "Are you always this jealous, husband?"
Percy tensed and the playfulness vanished, "We should go."
Annabeth shook her head at his sudden mood change, now that she was aware of his jealous nature it made Percy's dynamic much more clear. She could see what motivated him, she could see what scared him.
Only now, the question was if he was jealous because he liked her or if he was a possessive asshole over all of the things he thought belonged to him. Her money was on the fence, she couldn't figure out which option seemed likely.
Percy opened the passenger door to the Mercedes, keys in hand, "You're driving?" She asked.
He nodded, "I like to drive myself sometimes."
Annabeth smiled and slipped into the passenger seat as he shut the door and walked around the car. She watched him slide in. He wasn't wearing a suit today, instead he had on dark denim jeans and the shirt she had worn on the day of their wedding. The color of the shirt made his eyes stand out even brighter than usual.
"I like that shirt on you." She muttered as he cranked the car up. She realized then it was the first time they had been alone since the Maldives.
He smiled at her, "Thank you."
Annabeth put her seatbelt on as he drove down the long driveway and onto the main highway, "No bodyguards, today?"
Percy shrugged, "I think we'll be fine without them."
Annabeth eyed him, "You don't think I'll scream bloody murder and make everyone think you blackmailed me into marrying you?"
Percy smiled, "You wouldn't pull anything that stupid."
She shrugged, "You're right," She paused and decided to try honesty on for size, "Besides, maybe I want to spend some time alone with you."
He placed his other hand on the steering wheel and clenched his fists along the woodgrain circle. He didn't say anything audible but she thought she heard, "You're not the only one."
She smiled to herself and looked around to her window. A moment later she felt his hand on her knee, she almost twisted her fingers into his but refrained. Instead she looked back out the window and thought, for the first time ever, that maybe there was hope for Percy Jackson after all.

"I should be insanely insulted that I'm not invited to this awesome party."
Annabeth rolled her eyes, "Shut up, Thalia. You know the reason why."
Thalia shot Annabeth a look before looking at the price tag on a pair of shoes, "Right, I'm not famous enough."
Annabeth laughed, "You're not famous at all and I prefer you that way."
Thalia smiled and threw her arm over Annabeth's shoulder, "Awe! Is Annabeth getting sentimental?"
Annabeth shrugged her off, "No, I'm not you smart ass."
Thalia laughed before turning her attention back to the shoes, "I like these, I think they will go perfect with your dress for the party."
Annabeth looked at the shoes, the party was tomorrow, she had realized too late that she didn't have any shoes to match her dress and quickly made plans with Thalia. She hadn't seen her since she came back from her honeymoon.
"I like them." Annabeth commented as she looked around the shoe department of Saks Fifth Avenue one more time. Annabeth didn't see anything else that would match and since it was so last minute she would just have to deal with whatever they found today.
"Let's get them." She said turning back to Thalia.
After the shoes were paid for (on Percy's credit card) they went for coffee since they had already had lunch. Thalia hadn't interrogated her much during lunch, only asked how she was doing and how the honeymoon went. Annabeth quickly changed the course of conversation and Thalia had given her a look but went along with it since they hadn't chatted in a while.
But now, Annabeth could feel the questions on the tip of Thalia's tongue, just waiting to ambush Annabeth as soon as they sat down in the small coffeeshop.
It made Annabeth tense because she didn't want to lie to Thalia anymore than she already has or come up with half truths. Yes, they had sex on their honeymoon- she could be honest about that. But could Annabeth talk about their time in the Maldives without grieving that small fake life she had while there? Could she talk about the person Percy was then without getting sad?
Yeah, he had been a bit better since the morning of Calypso's visit but still, he wasn't the Percy she wanted.
"So, how was the sex?" Thalia said with a smirk so sinful Annabeth's cheeks reddened on instinct.
Thalia laughed, "Could you not be so forward?"
Thalia shook her head, "Hell no, it's one of the many reasons you love me."
Annabeth took a sip of the hot coffee, "That's what you think."
Thalia rolled her eyes, "Stop stalling, tell me something juicy." Annabeth set her coffee down and looked around the small coffee shop, it was relatively empty.
"It was…" Annabeth sighed, deciding that maybe she could tell her best friend about it, "It was unbelievably amazing."
Thalia smiled, "Define amazing."
Annabeth took a sip of her coffee, "How is sex on the honeymoon different from normal sex?" As far as Thalia knew Percy and Annabeth were already having sex way before the honeymoon, which they weren't.
Thalia shrugged, "I don't know… but was it different because you were married? Was it better than before?"
Annabeth shrugged, "It wasn't more romantic if that is what you're asking."
Thalia raised her eyebrows and looked pointedly, "What is that suppose to mean?"
Annabeth blushed again and shook her head, "I guess… because we were gone and away from who we normally are we were able to let loose and do things we would never usually do."
Thalia sighed, "Sounds dirty."
Annabeth sighed and shook her head, "That's all you're getting. It's a honeymoon Thalia, we did the things that people usually do on honeymoon's."
Thalia laughed, "Okay! Okay, I get it." Annabeth smiled and took another sip of her coffee, happy to finally have a change in subject, "I feel like we haven't talked in forever."
Annabeth nodded, "That's because we haven't, I've been so busy with this party since we got back."
"Tell me about Percy, I know you've had this whirlwind romance but… are you guys like a normal couple? Do you want children at all? Is he as much of an asshole as people think?" Annabeth laughed, she guessed she hadn't told Thalia that much about their relationship- or lack there of.
"I guess we're normal, I don't know even know what normal is."
Thalia smiled, "Normal is Nico and I."
Annabeth shrugged, "I think everyone has their own normal."
Thalia nodded, "I guess so."
Annabeth finished off her coffee, "Back to your question, we haven't exactly talked about children yet. We've just been content with being with one another for the time being."
Thalia nodded, "Are you sure you didn't create an oops with all of that honeymoon sex?"
Annabeth rolled her eyes and shook her head, "You are something else, Thalia Grace."
Thalia laughed as they both got up to throw their coffee away, "I'm just teasing."
Annabeth looped her arm through Thalia's as they walked out of the coffee shop and onto the street. It was nice, being with her best friend like this. With everything that had happened in the last four months she had forgotten what it was like to not take herself so seriously.

The party was in full swing.
Anybody who was anybody was there. Annabeth had run into her mother several times already, each time her mother complimenting her on her party planning skills. She couldn't help but feel like it was a dig at Annabeth and her "trophy" wife status. It probably killed Athena that Annabeth wasn't working, but it definitely wasn't by choice.
Annabeth stuck close to Percy all night, his hand on her back, her hand around his waist. Every now and then his fingertips would graze bare skin and Annabeth would push down the itch to be with him again.
She wouldn't put herself out there to be hurt or used by him again. If he wanted to be with her again it would be on her terms, and her terms only.
Annabeth did appreciate the fact that he was kissing her without reservation tonight. Their kisses were no longer forced or wrought with tension. It felt good to kiss his pliant and willing lips, to feel his hands cup her face gently.
It was weird that the last time they were at a public outing like this was three weeks ago at their wedding, my how things had changed since then.
"Champagne, darling?" Percy asked leading them to the bar.
Annabeth smiled and nodded, "Please."
He pulled two flutes from the bar and handed one to her, "You did a wonderful job planning this party." He whispered, kissing her cheek.
Annabeth smiled, that was for him- not for the show, "Thank you." He smiled at her and took a sip of his champagne.
"I'm going to say 'hello' to a few more people, will you be fine on your own?" Percy asked standing in front of her.
Annabeth nodded, "I'll find Piper to accompany me."
Percy leaned forward, he hesitated but then completed the trip to her lips. She smiled when he pulled back from the chaste kiss, "If I didn't know better I'd say that meant something." She whispered.
He smiled and kissed her forehead, "It's a good thing you know better."
Annabeth laughed, "Go away and smooze all of your clientele so that you can make it back to me before the fireworks start." Percy smiled and turned away from her, he glanced over his shoulder a few times before turning away completely.
After their day in the city earlier this week things had been so different between them. There still hadn't been anymore housecalls from any of his girls after Calypso and he hadn't been his usual self either. There was more of the Percy she met in the Maldives coming out. She thought that this was how he acted before his life turned into what it is now. Before it was filled with illegal buying, selling and shipping, before he manipulated people to get what he wanted.
"Fancy seeing you here."
Annabeth stiffened and turned around slowly, her heart beating out of her chest. She would know that voice from anywhere, she'd know that line from anywhere.
"Luke?" She whispered, staring at his face. A face she had wished to see so many times in the last month- since that awful day in the warehouse. He looked so good, his face healed from the bruises and cuts. The only thing he still had from that day in the warehouse was a scar marring his face.
Annabeth looked around to make sure no one was watching them, she grabbed him by the wrist and pulled him away from the party, "What are you doing here?" She demanded, "Do you have a death wish?"
Luke laughed, he freaking laughed. Annabeth thought her heart was going to beat out of her chest. If Percy saw him here, oh gods. She didn't even want to know what he would do.
"He won't touch me." Luke said calmly.
Annabeth shook her head, "Just because your father is Hermes doesn't mean anything to him."
Luke shrugged, "I know… but I'm not here with my Dad… I'm here with someone else."
Annabeth scrunched her eyebrows together, "What do you mean?"
Luke raised a hand to her shoulder, "I can't say much but I can tell you to just be patient."
Annabeth opened her mouth to say something but was cut off, "Luke! There you are, I've been looking for you."
Annabeth turned her attention and was suprised her mouth didn't gape open from the sight of Calypso, "My Uncle is looking for you."
Luke nodded and looked at Annabeth, "Duty calls, I'll see you around." Annabeth was stunned to the spot as he walked away, his arm wrapping around Calypso's waist in a very non platonic way.
Annabeth just stared after them, so beyond confused. She needed a moment to gather her wits about her, to gather her thoughts. She walked inside and toward her bedroom. She was passing Percy's office when she heard the hushed and angry voice of her husband. She would know that voice from anywhere.
She shouldn't have stopped, looking back on it. She should have kept walking to her room but she did the only logical thing in her mind at the moment.
Annabeth stood behind the column that was next to Percy's office and stayed quiet, listening.
"What the fuck do you think you're doing here, Kronos? You think after you took out half of my guys on the docks two weeks ago that you were still invited?"
Annabeth heard a chuckle, it sent a shiver up her spine, "Percy, I thought we had a understanding… it's the nature of the business."
She leaned in closer to hear Percy's response, "It might be the way you conduct your business but I own this city Kronos, if it happens again I won't look the other way like the last two times. I will take retribution."
"I understand, Percy… but if I were you I would watch out… just because your father was Poseidon doesn't mean we all have to follow you."
Annabeth heard footsteps and then then something hit the wall, "I have earned my respect… you haven't."
She pushed herself further into the wall, hoping to somehow disappear, "Now, get the fuck out of my house."
She stopped breathing as Percy's office door opened all the way. Annabeth couldn't see a face but she saw the shadow in the dark hallway. Kronos walked passed her hiding spot and looked directly at her and whispered.
"It looks like we have an eavesdropper," He stepped closer to her, "Don't worry I won't tattle on you." Her eyes widened as he continued down the hallway. She closed her eyes as she listened to the footsteps disappear down the hallway.
Annabeth didn't know what to do, she didn't know how to act. Did she continue on her way back to her room? Or make her presence known to Percy. He would probably be pissed she listened in on his conversation. She quickly made a series of taps with her foot to make it seem like she was walking down the hall and then proceeded to her room.
Once inside she locked the door and then went to her bathroom. She stared into the mirror, her eyes were wide and her face pale. Someone was trying to rise up against Percy? She closed her eyes and leaned against the counter. Everything coming together in her mind.
Luke was here with Kronos, Calypso was his niece and they were planning something. No doubt Percy already knew that. She felt something fierce and protective begin to spread through her, slowly. She didn't know why but she wanted to protect Percy, she wanted to protect the person she could see him becoming.
Annabeth freshened up her makeup and hair, the July heat did nothing to help her curls. Once she was finished she grabbed her purse and made her way back to the party. When she passed Percy's office door she noticed it was still open and he was still in it.
She knocked, "Come in."
Annabeth sucked in a sharp breath and walked in, "Hey, fireworks are about to start." He looked up at her from his perch on his desk. He was leaning against it, facing the door. His suit jacket laying over the leather chair in front of him.
"I'll be out in a minute." He said with a smile.
Annabeth nodded, "I can wait on you if you want." He smiled and picked up his jacket, walking over to her. He kissed her lips once, out of habit or appreciation she didn't know.
He took her hand and led her down the long hallway. When they were standing at the entrance to the gardens, he put his jacket back on. Annabeth could hear someone directing everyone to the North lawn for the firework display.
Percy turned to her and grabbed her hand, "Stay close to me for the rest of the night, please."
Annabeth grasped his hand, "Is everything okay?"
He smiled and nodded, "Of course, I would just prefer it if you stayed at my side for the rest of the party." She nodded as they started walking toward the party, she contemplated telling him that Luke was here. He probably already knew that.
"Percy," She whispered when they were on the edge of the North lawn. He turned to her expectantly. Her hands started to sweat but there was no backing out now.
"Luke was here."
Percy pursed his lips, "I know, he should be gone now, the person who he accompanied wasn't welcome at this party but he came anyways."
Annabeth nodded, she knew that much already. The conversation she overheard was still fresh in her mind, she was just trying her hardest to not think too much about it. He pulled her again into the mass of people, shaking hands and talking with people as he passed. It wasn't until the fireworks started that he stopped talking with people.
On the North lawn they had set up an entire area for people to enjoy the fireworks display. Chairs, blankets, benches, outdoor couches- more champagne floating around. It was like a dream, really. Percy sat her down on one of the long outdoor couches as the show began.
He pulled her close as the array of colors lit up the dark night sky. This was the one aspect of the show that Annabeth hadn't planned, Percy took care of this himself. Annabeth noticed the way his eyes kept darting around the entire time of the show, like he was expecting something to jump out and scare him.
She watched the way he tensed with each boom of the fireworks being shot off. He was waiting for something to happen. She leaned deeper into him, he unclasped their fingers and placed an arm around her waist- holding her to him.
As the fireworks kept shooting off into the sky she realized how far deep she was actually in. It hadn't occurred to her until now but… after she figured out about Luke and Kronos planning something- she didn't want to help them. She didn't want to take revenge on Percy anymore. Annabeth didn't wanted Luke to hurt Percy either, even if he had a right to, even if Percy had beaten him to a pulp.
This revelation had her reeling and freaking out on the inside. Annabeth didn't want to get back at Percy anymore, she just wanted to save him from himself and from anyone else who wanted to hurt him.
She wanted him to be someone else, she wanted him to be her Percy. What did this say about her? What did this say about her morals, about who she was as a person? She didn't know when her feelings changed, she just knew that they had. It was a complete turnaround from who she was a month ago.
Annabeth didn't know what this said about her, she only knew that she was in far too deep with Percy and she would do whatever she had to do to protect him. The conviction of this new revelation settled into her heart and made her smile a bit, as much as it scared her it made her smile.
Because she wasn't confused anymore, after weeks and weeks of being confused and hurt and angry she finally knew how she felt.
Annabeth turned to Percy, she pulled on the jacket of his lapel. The fireworks still exploding all around them, the finale of the show. He looked at her, she pulled him into a kiss that she hoped he could feel her resolve in.
Her resolve to do everything to protect him.
He kissed her back, soft, full, gentle- it had desire stirring in the pit of her stomach and rising. Percy deepened the kiss and it wasn't harsh like it had been in the Maldives. Annabeth felt the butterflies in her stomach awaken as his mouth moved in tandem with her own. When she pulled back he looked down at her with a question in his eyes, Annabeth smiled and leaned to whisper into his ear.
"I'm all in."

Her world had shifted completely. It was like how tectonic plates moved before a major earthquake. Everything moving, everything being destroyed in it's wake. That's how she felt, everything was destroyed in her wake. All of her old prejudices, all of her old beliefs about Percy.
After she had told him she was 'all in' he had kissed her again, praising her it felt like. She could feel the thanks on his lips as the firework show ended and people started to leave. Percy stood them up and they said their goodbyes to all of their guests. Some lingered and spoke with Percy, he had asked Travis to escort Annabeth to her room. Which meant he wanted to talk business with these men.
She had kissed him and told him she'd see him in the morning for breakfast. Now, though, as she stood in her closet in her underwear. Her hair fixed, makeup on she didn't know how to act. What if he freaked out and had one of his girls here last night. What if it was all too much for him?
Annabeth still didn't plan on being with him intimately again until he came to her. She knew that if they were intimate now and he decided it was too much her heart would break in half. She cared about his well being that much.
It had her sitting down in her closet and taking deep breaths, scared out of her mind. She knew she was late but she needed a moment to collect herself, she needed a moment to realize the implications of her revelation.
Ten minutes later she was walking out of her bedroom door, dressed and determined. She opened the dining room door and saw that Percy was alone with his newspaper. Annabeth smiled in relief, she realized again (the revelations just kept coming) that she was more worried than she cared to admit that he had sought comfort in someone else.
She wanted him to seek comfort in her.
"You're late." Percy said putting the newspaper down.
Annabeth sat down in her chair, "Couldn't find anything to wear."
He raised an eyebrow, "Already? I thought it would take at least six months before you went through the entire closet."
Annabeth laughed and looked at him, "I guess I need to go shopping."
Percy took a sip of his coffee, "You'll be going into the city today, plenty of time to shop this afternoon."
She nodded, she knew she would have to start playing the role of the 'trophy' wife by doing more than just planning her own parties. She would have worm her way into the social lives of the rich and fabulous New York wives. It was like a reality show and she was dreading it, but she had told Percy she was 'all in' the night before.
"Percy, it's Saturday… why don't we take the day off… focus on work Monday."
He raised an eyebrow, "It never stops in this business, Annabeth."
She shrugged, "I know, but you can."
He smiled slightly, "And what do you suggest we do?"
Annabeth took a sip of her coffee, "Take a walk in central park, wear a pair of jeans, take me shopping, eat lunch at a hot dog stand. I don't know…. be normal."
"Normal?" He asked but Annabeth could see the spark in his eyes, he was okay with the plan.
"Yeah, normal… is that such a foreign concept to you?" She teased.
He scrunched his eyebrows together and took a sip of his orange juice, "I haven't had normal in a long time."
She frowned, "Well today you are… finish breakfast and change out of that suit. Wear a pair of shorts and t-shirt… do something you've never done before."
Percy laughed, it made her smile, "You know I can't say 'no' to a proposal like that."
She smiled, her mind going back to their honeymoon in the Maldives. His carefree laugh and smile. His body moving above hers, his lips on her lips- his hips thrusting into her. Desire rolled through her like a wave, she looked away from him and took a sip of her coffee.
Annabeth was sure he could see it, he could tell what she was thinking about. He could see the blush rising in her cheeks. He chuckled, low and dark. She had to shake her head, no sex until he came to her- it would be on her terms.
"Let's finish up and then change, I'll have Charles bring the car around." Annabeth smiled over at him and started eating the breakfast in front of her.
When they were in the car, Percy in a pair of shorts and a white t-shirt that clung to him in a delicious way- Annabeth in a sundress, they talked about how well the party went last night. Annabeth didn't dare mention that she overheard the conversation in his office.
They were almost to the city when Percy asked, "Did Luke try to talk to you last night?"
Annabeth looked over at him and nodded, "Yeah."
Percy frowned, "Did he say anything?"
Annabeth shrugged, "Nothing that made actual sense…. I asked him if he had a death wish, he said you wouldn't touch him while he was at the party." Percy's jaw tensed, "He also… left with Calypso." Annabeth bit her lip as she read the emotions on his face. He chuckled to himself and then ran his hand through his hair.
"That's Calypso for you… always latching onto someone who could give her something in return." Annabeth nodded and looked away from him. The mention of Calypso causing a bitter taste in her mouth.
Then without thinking she looked at him, "Like you."
Percy sighed and nodded, "Yeah, like me." She shook her head because she saw so much more in him, "Don't do that, Annabeth. Don't expect more than I'm willing to give."
"You haven't given me anything to expect, Percy." She countered.
He eyed her, "I can see it in your eyes, Annabeth…. I can see the way you look at me."
She shrugged, trying to seem nonchalant, "And how do I look at you?"
He turned his body and looked straight at her, "Like you want more." Annabeth looked away from him. Did she want more? Yeah, she cared about him. But did she want more than this? Did she want a real marriage with him?
The answer came easily enough, yeah she did want more.
"So." She countered.
"Annabeth look at me."
She turned to his face, reluctantly, knowing what he was going to say, "I can't give you more."
Annabeth rolled her eyes, "You don't know that."
Percy steeled his gaze, "Yes, I do."
Annabeth looked away from him, anger flaring in her chest. She took a couple deep breaths, "Can we just enjoy today?"
Percy sighed and grabbed her hand, "Yeah."
She looked back at him and saw the resolve in his eyes, he truly believed he wasn't capable of love. He truly thought he wasn't capable of giving her more. A resolve of her own settled deep into her heart, she was determined to figure out the reason why, to figure out why he thought he wasn't worthy of love.
