Lunch was a bit awkward at first, but things started to pick up after Chris started telling anecdotes of things they had done together. It was hard to miss how blissfully happy he was, which worried Piper more altogether, but also made her try even harder to be somewhat okay with it. Bianca tried to win them over by talking about her family without mentioning the Phoenix code or anything remotely related to her assassinations which was a hard thing to do considering it had consumed most of her life and only now, because of Chris, she had opened herself to a whole different world of possibilities. It seemed to work to some extent. Piper tried addressing her as politely as she could asking questions about her family as she mentioned them in conversation, but couldn't help picturing Phoebe and how Cole had almost taken her down with him. She wouldn't bear her son getting anywhere that close to be lost completely to evil.

Angie's and Melinda's birthdays were only a few days apart so they decided to do a double party at the manor and invite the whole family. Everybody was excited. They hadn't had a proper party in a while. They were going all out on this one. Cake, games, candy, balloons, a piñata, the works.

Grandpa Samuel would be orbed in for the day; even Phoebe's daughter Bianca was coming with her boyfriend, which had everybody in suspense since they hadn't actually met him yet.

A day before the party, Piper was finishing the decoration around the ground floor late at night, helped by Phoebe and Paige. She put the last banner up and stared at it for a moment before turning to Phoebe who was taping her last balloon to the wall. Phoebe hugged her sideways and stared at the overly decorated house. "Boy, have we come a long way" said Phoebe. Piper held her closer to her. "What's wrong, honey?"

"I can't help but worry for Chris" she confessed. She had already told her sister about Bianca, but they had decided to give her a chance and keep a close eye on her just the same until Chris figured out his feeling for her. As far as they knew he could fall out of it any day.

"Why you pouting?" Paige came over, speaking in a helium voice, throwing some streamers on their heads. "Your daughter and your granddaughter are turning one, what could be more perfect than that?"

"My son not falling for a demon"

"She's not a demon. We've read about her kind and she has made her choice"

"For now. What if her killing instincts kick in again?"

"What killer instincts? Her killer instincts are no different from yours or mine and I've seen you smile when you burst a demon's head" Paige said accusingly.

"Still, she's been assassinating good and evil targets for a long time to just quit cold turkey"

"Can't judge her for what she's done. Everybody deserves a second chance. I know I had mine when I was younger" said Phoebe

"Just the one?" asked Paige. Phoebe stuck out her tongue to her younger sister.

"If you're this upset maybe we could do something to clear our doubts" suggested Paige. "No more glimpses of what might have been though, last time I ended up six feet under"

"She's right, Piper. Maybe we could try and get some answers"

They went to the attic to look for a spell in the BOS. Phoebe perused the pages, saying things like Nope; Too complicated; Major fail…

"There's a clarity spell. We could modify that one" said Paige stopping Phoebe on a particular page. Piper went over and wrote some of it on a notepad and then changed the last couple lines. Piper gulped and chanted.

Powers in our ancestors dwell,

Powers forever gentle and fair

Allow my sight to see the signs

Where my son's future is shared.

There was a bright light filling the room as two people appeared in front of them. The first was a girl apparently in her early twenty's; red curly hair, hazel eyes, which seemed disturbingly familiar somehow. The second a teenage boy probably round fifteen, green eyes, messy brown hair who looked very pleased with himself.

"Who are you?" asked a shocked Piper.

"Grandma?" the girl asked hesitantly.

"Oh, oh" said Phoebe and Paige at unison.

"Umh… who again…?" said Piper stunned.

"Grandma Piper" the young lady clarified. "I'm guessing it wasn't me whom you wanted to summon" she smiled.

"I… I wasn't trying to summon anybody. I asked for clarity, not more…. Umh… who are you exactly?"

"I'm your granddaughter. We both are"

"No, sweetie. She means your name" Phoebe said closing the book, wide eyed as Piper kept rubbing her hands uncomfortably.

"Oh, I'm Sarah"

"OK. So not born yet" Paige said matter-of-factly.

"Never been summoned to before I was born. It's kinda cool actually"

"Have I been born yet?" asked the young boy excitedly.

"How could you, you twerp?"

"Don't talk to your brother that way" reprimanded Paige.

"Oh, he's not my brother. Thank, God" he stared at her.

"What's your name, honey?" Phoebe asked him.

"I'm Evan. Christopher Evan" he imitated a James Bond accent. They smiled as they understood this was Chris' boy. Piper took a moment to see into his eyes and her fear started to die away as she saw his son would have a future after all. "Got any cookies?" Piper smiled.

"As a matter of fact, I think we might still have some left" she led them out of the attic and down the stairs.

"Wow, whose party is it?" asked Sarah.

"Your sister Angie's and Melinda's first birthday of course. Something wrong?" Everybody stopped on their tracks.

"That's… impossible"

"What is?" asked Phoebe.

"My sister Angie is two years older than Melinda is" They exchanged equally confused glances. "Evan, go get the cookies"

"But…"

"Do as I say" Evan left with a look of disappointment.

"How can you come from the future and…?" asked Paige puzzled, but she was interrupted.

"I don't think it's the future I come from" Sarah walked to the parlor and sat on the couch. "I've read about it in the BOS but I never thought…"

"Wanna fill us in?" asked Piper sitting next to her.

"Uhm, OK… it's possible that you might have summoned me accidentally from another plane" a lot of confused stares around. "Let's call it another reality. One where we were born at different times"

"Is that even possible?'

"Theoretically yes. Never actually seen it before, let alone jump outta my own"

"Well, we sort of have been to another dimension ourselves" said Paige. "Remember we went to a dark dimension of some sort?"

"Yeah, but we needed a portal for that. Summoning someone right outta one, sounds like quite a stretch" said Phoebe

"Well… that all may very well be what happened, but I'm guessing as soon as you do whatever it is you're here to do, you'll be able to go back" said Piper knowledgeably based on past experiences. "We'll figure it out. We have to" she added thinking how this would hit her sons. Wyatt and Sam had recently had to deal with the unpleasant outcome of their last daughter traveling back from the future; and Chris had just started dating a witch with no sense of morals. Things were pretty complicated as it was to add anything else to it.

"Found the cookies, huh?" said Sarah smiling to Evan who came still biting on one.

"Yeah" he said with his mouth full. Piper smiled at him.

"Well, you can have as many as you want"

"Oh, rest assured they might already be all gone" said Sarah to her grandmother.
