They decided to call it a night, it was well past eleven and they had a big day ahead of them. Chris was staying over at Wyatt's again, after movie night, which Piper had no idea meant Bianca was staying over as well; so his room was vacant for his son to use for the night.
"Need anything?"
"I'm OK. Thanks, grams" Evan gave Piper a tight hug.
"Good night, you twerp" Sarah and he made a funny handshake before walking to her parents' old bedroom. Once they went in, Piper pulled out a blanket from the closet and Sarah kept trying to peek out the door. "Just checking if he's really gone to bed" she laughed uncomfortably.
"You sound more like a sister than a cousin" Piper smiled at her sitting on the opposite side of the bed.
"Well… he was born a week after my brother Julian, so to me… he's my little brother"
"Glad to hear our family is as close as they are in this reality" she sat next to her now. "Nice to see some things don't change no matter where we are"
"Absolutely, grandma. See, when it comes to different realities, our fates, our destinies don't really change, they just… happen in a different way"
"How did you get to be so wise?" said Piper lovingly, caressing the hair off her granddaughter's face.
"From mom and dad, you and grandpa, uncle Chris, the list goes on" Sarah hugged her grandma. "I hope me being here helps you with whatever you're looking for"
"I hope so too. So far it's pretty clear to me… both my sons will be proud of their children" Piper put her hand on Sarah's cheek. "Good night, sweetheart"
Sarah was up all night thinking why she would be sent here in the first place. Magic didn't work randomly. There was something she needed to learn from all this as well and she only hoped she could figure it out before she had to go back.
"Morning" she said steering Evan down the stairs as they saw Piper setting plates on the table. Leo's jaw dropped the moment he saw her. Piper had done her best to walk him through the whole thing but it was still all kind of a blur.
"Please, sit down" Leo would have pulled them to their chairs in excitement had Piper not held his arm. "We're making pancakes"
"Lots of them" said Piper pulling her husband to bring some more stuff to the table. Evan and Sarah sat at the table. Sarah noticed the table had been awkwardly restored as Piper came in with a tower of pancakes which brought a smile to Evan's face. Leo came just behind setting the syrup, honey and jams on the table.
"You know I can fix this for you" said Sarah and waved her hand above the table which was instantly restored to its old shape.
"I don't think this table has looked this good in years" said Piper surprised at what her granddaughter could do.
"That's not all she can do" said Evan through a mouthful of pancakes.
"Don't talk with your mouth full" said Leo
"Sorry, pop" said Evan which filled Leo's heart with happiness and pride.
"I bet it isn't" said Piper unsure how much she would like to see.
"Why didn't you get helium for all the balloons?" asked Sarah as she took a bite with blackberry jam.
"Oh, we wanted to, but we forgot to reserve the tank at the party store and we couldn't get a big enough tank for them all" she explained sitting down to watch them eat.
"I can fix that" Sarah waved her hand and all the balloons on the wall floated upwards. Piper and Leo were shocked. Evan was amused.
"Awesome, right?" he said with his mouth full again, Leo stared and he closed his mouth and smiled at him, syrup running down his chin. Piper passed him a napkin as she looked around at all the balloons now filling the ceiling in complete awe.
Wyatt and Sam orbed in, Wyatt holding the usual two diaper bags as Sam held Angie. Meghan and Julian grabbing onto their father's pant legs on either side.
"We on time for breakfast?" he asked. "Party guests so early?" he smiled, not recognizing them, wondering if he had just orbed in front of the wrong people.
"Dad!" Sarah dropped her spoon and ran to hug a very confused Wyatt.
"Spell?" asked Sam every bit as confused.
"Mom!" Sarah hugged her instead, Angie poking her face as she came too close to her mommy. Piper and Leo nodded.
"Wow…it's a… surprise" said Sam. "Which one of our daughters are you?" she tried to smile. Wyatt hung to every word, asking himself that very same question.
"Sorry, mom. I'm Sarah" her smile bright in her face. Sam and Wyatt felt as if a bucket full of ice fell on their heads. Sam's eyes started to tear up and then… "Mom!" she collapsed. Wyatt caught her as Sarah caught Angie. Leo and Piper went to get Meghan and Julian out of the way as Wyatt carried Sam to the couch.
"What'd I say?" Wyatt was caressing Sam's face and held her hand. After a few seconds, he started rummaging on one of the diaper bags he had been carrying and dropped behind him. He checked his wife's sugar levels. They were staggeringly low. Wyatt ran to the kitchen as Sam started to mumble something slowly coming around. "She gonna be OK?" Wyatt came running back with a glucose shot and injected her right on her thigh. After throwing it aside, he tried lifting her up to a sitting position against him.
"It's alright, Sam. I got you" Sarah looked beyond worried, so was Evan for that matter. Leo was holding him by the shoulder as he carried Julian who was sobbing scared. Piper held onto Meghan rocking her to keep her calm. Wyatt nodded to his mother as Sam started to come around, holding on to Wyatt's hand. "Not your fault" he told Sarah. "It's just… Sarah was the name of our first child"
"Wyatt…" said Piper.
"We had chosen a girl's name, but not a boy's. We never got to find out the sex" Wyatt remembered the loss of their first child painfully. Sam's ex had kicked the life out of her and killed the baby in the process. Sarah understood she hadn't even been born in this reality. "I take it from wherever you come from she's not sick" said Wyatt kissing the top of Sam's head and having a very accurate picture of where she might come from. Sarah shook her head still staring at her mother who opened her eyes and stared back at her.
"Thought we might join… what happened?" asked Chris as him and Bianca orbed in.
"It's alright" Wyatt reassured him. A scared Evan ran to hug his dad.
"Woah, you OK, buddy?"
"I got scared, that's all, dad" he said trying to compose himself.
"What did you call me?" Evan stared into Chris' eyes and he couldn't help seeing himself reflected in them. "Oh my…God" everybody in the room was still in a bit of a shock.
"Maybe I should come back later" said Bianca.
"Mom, don't leave" said Evan which brought a new wave of shock about the room. Wyatt and Sam exchanged looks. They were the only ones in the room that knew Chris would have a son with Bianca. Piper, however, needed to sit down. She looked down and sat on an armchair.
"You OK, mom?" asked Chris, still eyeing his son.
"Yeah, I'm alright" said Piper turning to look at them both and then quickly tuning away. Whatever was that was going on between Chris and Bianca, it was destined to be and now she knew.
