Boris Yeltsin: I wouldn't be too sure since most were pretty much minor characters, you know.

Chapter 3: Secrets
Sophia smiled as she finally made the finishing touches to the upcoming campaign and looked up to see that both Carl and Mikey, who had been suspiciously too quiet the whole time, were reading one of her notebooks.
Recognizing which one it was right away, she rolled her eyes. "Oh yeah, just start snooping guys, hope you like the initial concept sketches for the play costumes."
"This is pretty good stuff and this was just the initial sketches?" Carl remarked, looking up at her.
"Well yeah." She laughed. "Everything starts in the concept stage Carl."
Mikey shook his head, taking the book from Carl and handing it over to Sophia.
"Sorry, we saw it lying open and we were curious." He explained.
Sophia shrugged. "No need to explain. Just glad you liked them. Certainly gives me the confidence that our final designs should be more than enough."
"Hey, of course they'll be." Carl said. "Sophia, don't stress, you've got this down perfectly."
"I'm the Stage Manager, I can't help but be stressed, especially as I've also taken on these other duties as you can see. We don't normally have anything to do with costumes." Sophia explained.
"Yeah, usually that's lighting and technical arrangements…" Mikey mused. "So, why are you doing all this extra stuff?"
Sophia sighed and roughly pushed her hair back with both hands, once more inadvertently drawing attention to the dyed blue tips
"Ms. Espinosa is running herself ragged as director, trying to fix everything up. I'm just trying to make it easier for her." She told them.
Carl smiled lightly. "Very admirable, but you gotta remember to take care of yourself too."
Sophia smiled at that and nodded.
At that moment the door opened and Tonya entered, they all recognized her from around the school, but as she wasn't exactly part of their friend group, but part of the play, Sophia was the main member of the current trio who had the most interaction with her.
"Hey guys, Anna's here." She exclaimed, drawing their attention to the shy brunette.
Anna smiled lightly in greeting to them. As she was in fact dating Tonya she was of course the one who knew her best out of their friend group and thus the only one who knew more about her than Sophia.
"Oh Sophia, how's this, I had my mom take it in a little?" Tonya said suddenly.
She was showing off her outfit, which wasn't her usual clothes, but her costume for the school play, The Tempest, her costume being that of her character, Ariel.
Sophia grinned her approval. "Excellent, it's perfect."
Anna smiled. "I thought so."
Sophia glanced over at Anna who's smile widened, clearly pleased that Sophia's approval matched her own. Tonya felt her face heat up and bit her lip before laughing it off.
"Well, I better get changed before class actually starts." Tonya remarked; glancing to the side. "Say Anna, could you come on through with me, I need to talk you in private for a moment."
Anna was all nervous again. "Y-yeah, sure."
She gave a small smile to the others and then followed Tonya towards the changing room. Meanwhile Mikey sighed and stood up, heading off to class himself.
Sophia shrugged and quickly began packing away everything. Carl remained seated, looking towards the door of the changing room, then Sophia, then back. He could feel the tension and sensed something wasn't right. Sophia slung her bag over her shoulder and went towards the door. Then she stopped and glanced towards the changing room, before signally for Carl to come over with her hand. Carl got up and approached; he knew this would happen, out of their whole group he and Sophia had been friends the longest. Since they had been nine and eight respectively and thus knew practically everything about each other. Such as Sophia being lesbian while Carl himself was actually bi.
"What's up?" He asked quietly.
"I'm worried, Carl." She explained. "About Anna...I just wish, there was something I could do, or say."
Carl nodded slowly. "Does she know about you…?"
"Yeah, yeah she does. But, she's already got Tonya and, well, you've seen her." Sophia explained dejectedly. "Next to model material like her, who'd wanna date the nerdy tech girl."
"Hey, that social status stuff is bullshit and don't put yourself down Sophia, you are pretty, okay." Carl explained. "And no, I'm not just saying that."
Sophia laughed lightly. "But we're best friends Carl, admit it, you're biased."
"Maybe a little." He admitted.
Becoming serious again Sophia sighed. "I just can't shake the feeling something's very wrong and not just with her family."
Carl nodded, but knew, as much as Sophia did, that there was nothing they could do about it, not without knowing more and that was unlikely, given Anna's reticence about opening up about herself.
Inside the dressing room, Sophia's worst fears were however coming true. In the midst of changing out of her costume in front of a blushing Anna Tonya looked over at her with narrowed eyes.
"So, what was that?" She asked, her tone completely different, cold even.
"I...I don't know what you-?" Anna stammered.
Tonya turned and got right in her face, practically pinning Anna against the wall without even touching her. Being down to just her rather sexy underwear didn't stop Tonya being intimidating, or help Anna's rampaging emotions in the slightest.
"Don't lie to me, Anna." Tonya said firmly. "I saw you staring at Peletier ever since we walked in the room. You trying to get with her behind my back."
"No, no I swear-"
"Then prove it, meet me at lunch. Or I suppose you'll just have to deal with the consequences." Tonya replied with not the slightest hint of mercy.
Anna nodded frantically, knowing full well what Tonya meant by consequences.
"Remember, you are mine." Tonya told her. "So don't ever let me catch you undressing Peletier with your eyes again, though god knows what you see in her, urgh scrawny little rat. Not to mention the hair, can't even commit to a proper dye job."
Shaking her head Tonya resumed dressing while Anna waited, knowing they'd be leaving together anyway, since they shared their first class. All she could think once again was how much she wished for something else, but in this case she was well and truly trapped, and she knew it.
End of chapter, hope you enjoyed it, read and review please.
