Chapter 7: Dark Truth

Making her way down the street, looking around anxiously, praying nobody that recognized her would see her, Anna tried to hurry, without making it too obvious.

'If I'm too worked up Tonya will notice it right away and start to get angry, she'll think I'm cheating on her or something and that'll cause her to-'

Anna quickly cut her own thoughts off with a shudder, she couldn't bear to think what would happen if Tonya finally got fed up of her mistakes and acted. Finally she spotted her girlfriend, standing by the edge of the woods, the light breeze fluttering her blonde hair and the hem of the dress she wore, looking like some angelic figure. It would certainly appear she was to an outsider who didn't really know her like Anna did.

Yet it did still stir memories in Anna. 'It's like how things used to be, seeing her like that. It wasn't all bad, we actually had such a great relationship...until six months ago. Why did it change so much?'

Reflecting sadly that she may never know the truth of that, Anna quickly approached Tonya, her nervousness mounting with each step as she feared what Tonya might have to say. For her part Tonya had been rather impatient as she waited, getting more worked up about Anna not being here and not replying to her as promptly as she should, all this despite her outward appearance suggesting otherwise.

She therefore only let it slip, ever so slightly, by narrowing her eyes when she spotted Anna approaching at last, making sure Anna saw her displeasure.

'About damn time, this is getting out of hand, I can't risk her getting away from me and getting ideas.' Tonya reflected. 'Especially after seeing how she can't stop drooling over Peletier despite my warnings.'

Anna stopped in front of Tonya, swallowing nervously. "H-Hi."

"So, you made it, took your sweet time." Tonya remarked. "Hope you weren't getting any ideas about thinking you can sneak around behind my back and-"

"Tonya, I would never-!" Anna protested.

But Tonya cut her off. "Don't lie to me Anna, we've already talked about this, that day in school, when I caught you eyeing Sophia. Then you expect me to believe you're not trying to hook up with her behind my back."

"Why would I?!" Anna countered.

Tonya smirked at that. "Exactly, why would you? You have me, you have someone perfect like me...so why would you even look at that pathetic nerd. Her hair is so messy, she probably doesn't even know how a hairbrush works, same with make-up never wears any and clearly knows nothing about it. She can't even commit to a proper dye-job, seriously who dyes only the tips of their hair these days, to say nothing of how she dresses, it's like she's trying to be boring."

Anna couldn't help but feel angered at everything Tonya was saying about Sophia, especially the unfairness of her saying it without Sophia being able to defend herself due to not being present.

But she couldn't say anything, she couldn't give in to her anger. That would only fuel Tonya's suspicions and besides, it would blow up in her face and she and Tonya both knew that.

She jolted out of her thoughts by Tonya getting in her face. "I mean it Anna, this has to stop. If this keeps going I swear I will have to make sure you stay the hell away from Peletier...Or do I have to use the photos."

"No, please, I promise, there's nothing, just don't-!" Anna cried, desperation filling her.

Seeing her panic stricken eyes, Tonya smirked and nodded, satisfied. It had been easy enough to establish control in their relationship, all she had to do was trick Anna into sending her some nude selfies and just like that she had the perfect tool to ensure Anna never tried to stray from her.

"Good, then you remember, you are mine and no one else can even touch you." She remarked. "Now, no doubt you're needed at home again, run along and we'll make arrangements later for some 'us' time."

Anna nodded and hurried away. Satisfied Tonya turned and, smirking, looked towards the trees.

"Enjoy what you heard, brat?" She taunted.

Alyssa emerged from the trees, eyes wide. "What did you call me you fucking d-"

"Oh, you're gonna use big girl words now, horrible ones too." Tonya mocked. "Even insulting your own sister with them."

Alyssa smirked. "As I care about her, you ought to-"

"Ought to what?" Tonya asked, dropping all pretence, her voice darkening. "Listen you pathetic little brat. I have leverage over Anna as you heard. But thanks to her and how easily I can get her to tell me anything, I know a lot about you. So do you really want to try me?"

Realizing she was faced with someone who couldn't be bullied and who would easily expose her and her parents actions against Anna, a terrified Alyssa quickly backed down and also fled while Tonya smirked, everything was coming together for her, there was no question about that.
