Chapter 2
LAX
Jackson, Angie, and Vince exited the plane into the airport. As they did, loud rock music played. Angie looked at Vince.
"Turn that off," Angie said. "People are staring at us."
"That's the point," Vince said. "We're going to have the BVEITHOTFWOSHMIWD!"
"The what?" Jackson asked.
"The Best Vacation Ever In The History of the Freaking World or So Help Me I Will Die!" Vince cheered.
Angie grabbed Vince's phone and turned off the music.
"Hey!" Vince shouted.
"If you turn that loud music back on," Angie said. "You will be DIAD."
"What does that mean?" Vince asked.
"Dead in a ditch," Angie said.
The three walked to the baggage claim and got their suitcases. They then exited the airport to see Buck waiting for them.
"Evan Buckley!" Vince cheered.
"Vince Callerson!" Buck cheered.
Buck and Vince ran to each other and hugged tightly. Vince then introduced Jackson and Angie.
"This is my cousin Jackson and his girlfriend Angie," Vince said.
"I remember you, Jackson," Buck said. "You know, when the hotel you were staying at caught on fire."
"Yes," Jackson said. "I'm trying to forget about it."
Buck noticed what everyone wore.
"You all look like you're ready for a day at the beach," Buck said.
"I am," Angie said. "I don't care if it's big, small, or nude. Take me to the beach!"
"Yeah," Jackson said. "I'm so ready to get this vacation started."
"Me too," Vince said. "I've decided I'm going to hook up with the hottest guy I meet on the beach."
"Oh," Buck said grinning. "Vacation?"
"Yeah," Vince said. "You invited us here for a vacation to get our minds off of everything we've been through lately."
"Vince," Buck said. "I didn't invite you here for a vacation."
"Oh," Vince said. "Look, Evan. You are hot, but you are so not my type. I prefer blonde men."
Vince leaned over and whispered into Buck's ear.
"But if you want to hook up, we can," Vince whispered.
"Vince," Buck said. "I don't want to hook up."
"Oh," Vince said.
"So if this isn't a vacation," Angie said. "Why did you invite us here?"
"I'm putting you three to work," Buck replied.
"Work?" Angie and Jackson asked.
LAPD
Angie and Athena Grant walked down the hallway of the LAPD.
"I have to say, Angie," Athena said. "I was a little skeptical when Buck asked me to team up with an Oklahoma City officer, but then he told me about that drug bust. I'm looking forward to working with you this week."
"I'm going to kill Vince," Angie said.
9-1-1 CALL CENTER- LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA
Sue Belvins led Jackson to a desk.
"Here's your area, Jackson," Sue said. "I am so happy that you came all the way from Oklahoma to help us out. Thank you so much."
"You're welcome," Jackson said. "But I'm so going to kill Vince."
STATION 118
Buck and Vince entered the 118 and Vince looked around with amazement.
"This is so much bigger than Station 37 back in Oklahoma!" Vince cheered. "I'm so going to love working here!"
Bobby, Eddie, Hen, and Chimney came downstairs.
"Guys," Buck said. "This is Vince. He's our new member for this week."
Bobby walked over to Vince and patted him on the shoulder.
"Hello, Vince," Bobby said. "I'm Captain Robert Nash, but you can call me Bobby."
"Hello, Bobby," Vince said.
Chimney came over to Vince.
"I'm Howard," Chimney said. "But everyone calls me Chimney."
"Why?" Vince asked.
"It's a long story," Chimney replied.
"I'm Henrietta," Hen said, introducing herself. "But everyone calls me Hen."
Eddie walked over to Vince.
"Hello, Vince," Eddie said. "I'm Eddie."
Vince's mouth dropped open.
"Are you okay?" Eddie asked.
"Can I feel your biceps?" Vince asked.
"Excuse me?" Eddie asked.
"I mean, nice to meet you, Eddie," Vince said.
"You too," Eddie said.
Everyone started walking upstairs. Buck looked at Vince.
"He's not gay," Buck said.
"Aw man!" Vince said. "The good ones are always straight!"
