Warning: Angst ahead
"You know he's going to leave us, right?"
Sakura looked up at the man who supposedly 'raised' her.
"What do you mean?"
"He's with that blonde boy all the time. He's up to something."
"No he wouldn't do that, Sasuke-Kun would never leave us."
"Then where is he and why aren't you with him?"
It was a cruel slap to the face and Sakura wanted to cry.
Sakura and Sasuke were part of a gang, it wasn't like they chose this life. They lost their parents and had nowhere else to turn.
When Sakura first arrived, she was just 5 years of age. She didn't know of right or wrong and taught that all her wrongdoings were right. From stealing to fighting and even propositioning herself at the age of 13.
It was all she knew how to survive, but Sasuke.
He was different.
They were the same age but he knew everything they did was far from legal. He made her realise this, taught her how to read, write, and even maths. He protected her and made sure she was close to him and never left alone with the others.
When Sakura made a mistake that would get the boss angry. He would be the one to take the punishment. She didn't understand and insist she could handle it.
But he never let her.
When given a mission, Sasuke was always with Sakura. He made sure of it.
She considered him a friend and likewise he with her. At least before he did.
Now he would sneak out to hang about with these other people. Sakura didn't know who they were, one was called Naruto?
From what she caught on, she tried to ask him questions but he coldly told her it was none of her business and to stop being annoying.
Sakura had never seen him act this way before.
Then today, Sakura sneaked off and followed him.
What she saw she wished she could unsee, he was smiling, laughing, and being happy. Something he never did now or maybe he never was.
Angst, angst, angst. I do want to make a part 2 to this, I think I have written part of it somewhere so I'll have to look for it.
