Shan's in the house, stomping around on Mulan's carpet in his boots and leaving mud all over the floor.
He's screaming about records and recipes and he's taking the fridge.
Mulan's too tired to fight. She's too tired to care. 'Fine,' she says, and watches the staff sergeant rip the linoleum when he rips the fridge from the wall.
Then the trolley falls on the piano, chipping the Fazioli.
'Motherfucker!'
The anger, Mulan realizes, has been gestating in her soul for a long time. She's a ball of raw emotion when she reaches for the fruit bowl and pitches it at Shan's head.
