12. Orderlies

When Mulan walks into the ED at West River Medical Center, still applying ice to her eye, she refuses to be treated before other patients.

Su Sun gives her a significant look. A few of the nurses notice her too. Delun Ling is clocking off when he spots Mulan trying to sink into her chair. The physiotherpaist flops into the chair next to her, pretending he's ordering a Lyft.

'Stay with me,' he says quietly.

Mulan's on the floor in Delun's arms.

She doesn't remember fainting.

'Methinks the lady doth have concussion,' says Delun. 'You know, Harvey would be happy to return that shiner for you.'
