The Nightingale's Song

Mulan is vaguely conscious of the fact she's been on the dance floor with Shang for four songs, but it's so nice to be wrapped up by him and near him and not doing anything. No inane conversations about patients or body fluids. No rushing to markets to buy something to cook at home. No synchronized alarms so they can cuddle before going their separate ways. No impassioned kisses as they fight the agony of being separated for a few hours.
Shang's got one hand wrapped around her hand, holding it to his heart. The other hand is low on her waist as her own fingers busy themselves in his hair.
'Thank you,' Mulan whispers as she settles her head against Shang's shoulder. 'Tonight's been incredible.'
