Shang is checking the fridge one last time. The fact that he's using a spreadsheet to keep track of everything amuses Mulan. He's also audited the wine fridge three times since getting home, disappearing once to buy pinot grigio and moscato, then once more to get an extra case of beer.

'I just want it to be perfect,' he tells Mulan. 'It's our first family dinner.'

When Shang isn't anxiously staring into the fridge, he's toddler proofing the house for his sister's kids.

They'll be entertaining thirteen, not including themselves. Four were under seven and three were octogenarians. And Mulan hadn't officially met any of Shang's family yet.
