53. Choice

Su is thirty-five weeks along and Mulan still hasn't made a decision. Taking on the position as Chair of Emergency is a lot of responsibility and a lot more time away from home. Her intern would need to pick up all her scheduled appointments and be overseen by the Chair of Orthopaedics. She'd be out of her own surgeries for a year, essentially. All the chest wall reconstructions would need to be transferred to Cedars-Sinai.

'So much sighing,' says Shang as he tugs her into his arms. It's their first lazy morning in bed in months, and Mulan shouldn't be thinking about work, but she is. When a warm, wet kiss is bitten into her throat, Mulan is thinking a lot less.
