Xiong Hua dusts off his Marines uniform to walk his sister down the aisle. They're about to step out into the Li's backyard, towards a little over three hundred guests, when Mulan tells Xiong to get their mother. 'I want both of you,' she says. 'It's what ba would want.'

Lee Yuan is a teary mess when she loops her arm around her daughter, ready to lead her to Shang Li.

'He'd be so proud,' says Lee Yuan as she places Mulan's hands in Shang's.

The groom is already an emotional wreck before Mulan's mother turns to him. 'Hua ba would have loved you.'
