'Incoming. Stabbing at Men's Central. Victim was a visitor.'

Gracie Ting is about to scream her frustration when she sees the victim the EMTs are wheeling in. Whatever Mulan Hua had done in her past life, the woman was a magnet for trouble.

'I think it's penetrated the spleen,' says Mulan. She's conscious, stable, and holding the foreign object in place. 'I tried calling Shang, but I can't get through to him.'

'Your husband's in the OR,' says Gracie. 'We'll let him know when he's done. Shang isn't going to focus on anything if he knows you've been stabbed.'
