84. Abdication

They've only been married for three months, and they're not willing to live with split shifts. When they email the hospital director, it's done as the team they've become. Shang will only take the position as Chair of Cardiothoracic if Mulan is made Chair of ED and they're both given night shift.

The response is almost immediate. They're emailed their new schedules within a couple of hours.

With their new roles, there's plenty of overlap in their positions.

More than once they find themselves in Shang's consultation room, on his lounge, post shift. A puzzle of perfectly fitting limbs locked together as they get a couple of hours sleep before they head home.
