The funny thing about lasts is that they're usually forevers.

Mulan's last kiss was with the same man who'll kiss her for the rest of her life.

Shang's last kiss was with his phone, but it was meant for the woman whose face was glowing up at him from the other side of the country. The woman who was coming home in three weeks.

Three bachelor weeks that passed as slowly as mercury particles being pulled from blood. Three weeks that felt like forever.

Then she's home, and in his arms, and he swears it's the last time they're ever going to be apart for the rest of their lives.

Mulan lets Shang into the last stronghold of her heart as she clings to him and tethers herself to him, but there's something she desperately wants to know.

'Did you think about what I said?' she asks before they make it in the front door. 'Do you want to start trying for a baby?'
