Since taking the position as Chairs of Cardiothoracic and ED, Mulan and Shang have not once spent the night at home together. They worked the same shifts for a time, then, after one too many social distancing breaches, they were moved onto split shifts. But new schedules put them on the day shifts together.

Everything feels like it's going back to normal. They eat lunch together, when they can, and go home together.

The virus isn't going anywhere, and this new strange way of living is their new normal. Everyone's adapting to it.

By their second wedding anniversary, Shang is certain there's never going to be a good time to start a family. Mulan is being reviewed for the position as assistant director and she's eager for the promotion.
