Summary: Naruto Miraculous AU but make it Male Sakura with Fem Sasuke.
"Another successful mission," Byakugou smiled at his teammate, she gave a small smile in return until her earrings started to beep.
"Ah, time to go. I need to meet up with a friend anyway." Byakugou quickly caught on to her wrist before she left.
"Uh, wait… listen before you go. There's going to be a concert happening soon and well… I was wondering if maybe you would like to go?" Amaterasu blinked, unused to the shy/awkward boy. He was usually so full of confidence in asking her out for dates.
"I mean obviously not in like our civilian forms but maybe we can meet on a rooftop and enjoy it elsewhere?" Rubbing the back of his head shyly, she looked away feeling slightly uneasy.
"That's sweet, but I told you before. There's someone else I like. I don't think it would be appropriate for us to go together." He slouched but expected the rejection.
"Right yeah, of course." His own ring beeped causing him to drop her wrist. "Looks like I need to go too, see you later."
For some reason, it felt painful to watch him walk away. But still, it was better to be honest than lead him on. How could she accept his offer when she was still in love with someone else?
Sakura sighed as he walked along the pavement, it was getting harder to face Amaterasu with every rejection. He was falling harder and stronger for the girl yet it's obvious she had her eyes set on someone else. Of course, she would, she was smart, beautiful, kind and did he mention smart?
"Hey Saks, did you see where Amaterasu and Byakugou went? I need to get their autograph." His friend Ino ran up to him, probably trying to catch up to their superhero forms.
"Sorry Ino, but I think you missed them."
"Seriously? That's the tenth time, ah well eleventh time's the charm hey," Sakura rolled his eyes. He wished he could be as positive as Ino right now.
"What's up with you by the way?" And of course, he would notice something is wrong with his best friend. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Right, you look… depressed. This isn't like you." Well, considering I just got rejected by the love of my life, yeah I'm feeling fantastic. But of course, he couldn't just say that. If Ino found anything about him having a crush, he would want to know who and that could not happen.
As the two continued talking with Ino trying to prod as to the reason for Sakura being so upset. They weren't aware of a pair of eyes spying on them.
"Well, now's your chance Sasu-Chan." Naruko pointed out the pink-haired boy but Sasuke just sighed.
"This was meant to be for his Birthday… it's July now."
"And whose fault is that? You're the one who wanted to give him a handmade bracelet." Sasuke said nothing but glared at her friend. Wasn't she supposed to be supportive?
"Besides, we both know Sakura won't overthink the gift. He'll appreciate it." That was true, Sakura wasn't the type of guy to let things get to his head. Not like something she could say about other boys.
"Fine," well here goes nothing.
"I'm telling you, it's just stress that's all."
"Hmm, I know you overwork yourself with studying but you love it so it's hard for me to imagine that's the cause with that face." The two continued to bicker and Sasuke stood there awkwardly behind Ino, they couldn't see her and she wasn't one for knowing how to enter such a discussion. Unlike her friend.
"Oi," Naruko barked out. "The lady has something to say." And she hid behind the building where she and Sasuke were. This had their attention and the two looked in the direction before spotting Sasuke.
"Oh sorry Sasu-Chan," Sakura smiled and Sasuke felt her heart flutter. Damn
This is why she couldn't accept Byakugou's confession.
"I apologise for my friend," she glared at the direction Naruko had come from, understanding Sakura nodded looking at Ino. "I know just what you mean." Feeling offended, the blonde shrugged and excused himself.
"Well, I know where I'm not wanted. I'll catch you later though Saks," implying that this wasn't the end of their conversation. However, he was also aware of Sasuke's feelings so decided to spare her and give the two some alone time.
That didn't mean he couldn't snoop on them with Naruko though.
Sakura shrugged and turned his attention towards the girl.
"What's up?"
"I… wanted to give you your Birthday present. I know it's late, really late but it wasn't ready so..." She handed the small wrapped gift, face flushed but hopefully he wouldn't notice that.
Needless to say, Sakura was speechless. In the box was a lovely red bracelet mixed in with green to match his eye colour. There was even a cute cherry blossom stamp on it.
"Uh…"
"You don't like it?"
"Oh no, it's not that. I've just never had such a gift before from a girl, and it's my type too. How did you know?"
"I may have had some little help." She mumbled remembering all the rambling Ino gave her. Sakura nodded, smiling. "Thanks, this is just what I needed to cheer me up."
"You're upset?" That caught her off guard, Sakura was always the cheery/happy type and nothing would get his mood down. Or at least she thought.
"I suppose, it's not something I can really talk about." Looking away with a sad expression, she knew all too well about that feeling. No one said being a superhero was easy, but to protect their loved ones. Sasuke wouldn't have it any other way. "But this cheered me right up so thanks Sasu-Chan."
For a moment, a second Sasuke thought she saw her teammate but threw away that thought immediately. I mean they were complete opposites. Byakagou was a flirt, had way too much confidence and thought too much of himself. Sakura was kind, a gentleman and way too awkward when it came to flirting (she witnessed it first hand and found it adorable)
"It's no trouble…" She blushed looking away. "I'm here if you want to talk, you know. If you have enough with your blonde friend."
Hearing that caught him off guard, since when was she so sassy? Not that he didn't like it but the thought of Amaterasu came to mind. Sakura quickly put that thought away.
No way, they were too different. Amaterasu was sassy and talkative as they come whilst Sasuke liked to keep to herself and distant. Although when she got to know someone, she was quite open. Even so, it's hard to imagine the two being the same person.
I'm just being silly.
"Thanks, I would appreciate that."
"Those two are something else." Naruko pointed out.
"Yeah, I can't quite put my finger on it. But there's definitely something."
Another prompt done. Aaah, I can't believe how far I am with SasuSaku Month.
Still got a bit of days to go, but I'm slowly getting there^^
