Summary: Sakura discovers the truth of who his father really is.
Another part from my Miraculous AU with Male Sakura and Fem Sasuke.
The first part you can read on Day 14: Jewellery
"Papa… what are you doing?" Sakura looked absolutely horrified, eyes widening in fear. He was shocked, confused, angry and in disbelief. Was his father really… their enemy? Nah, there had to be a logical explanation right? He was just trying on a fancy dress, there wasn't any way he was Renshin. Even if Sakura did walk in on him transforming, his suit was grey and even his hair had turned dark and more spikey. It had to be an illusion.
His father had been shocked to see him there by the door, usually, Sakura would let him be, understanding that he was always busy all the time. But he had wanted to ask if he could go to a friend's Birthday party tomorrow and catch his Dad before he went to his office.
The two just stood there in silence taking it in, Sakura was shaking. Please say it isn't so.
"Sakura, my son, why don't you join me?" Hearing that broke him, it sounded so evil and cold. He took a step back frightened, where was the loveable Dad he once knew? Sure, he changed over time once his mother passed, but this couldn't be him. No, this wasn't happening.
"I am sorry you had to find out like this, but I'm doing this for you. For us, can't you see that?"
No, Sakura did not see that beyond furious now Sakura lashed out.
"You turned my friends into your sick puppets and you say 'I'm sorry you had to find out like this?' How is that okay? What is wrong with you?"
"This will bring your mother back, we just need the Miraculous and-"
"SHUT UP! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO SPEAK HER NAME!"
"But don't you want to see her again?" He was silent for a moment, how could he possibly see her again.
"You can't bring back the dead father."
"With the Miraculous, you can." Shaking his head, no way. Sure it could do the impossible but bringing back the dead was a no go.
"Join me Sakura. We can bring her back together."
"NO!" He screamed and ran off.
The damage was done however, his emotions were all over the place and considering how he had no remorse on using his friends, turning them evil and controlling them. What difference would his son be? If anything it would be a bonus as well, having your son fight alongside you. The mere thought disgusted him, how could he abuse his power like this?
Not to mention the fact Sakura was Byakugou, if he got turned he would hand his ring over.
No
Sakura wouldn't let that happen, but this meant only one thing.
He had to give his ring to Amaterasu, there was no way he would be able to run from the Akuma and with all these intent emotions running through it was only a matter of time.
Besides, when he did turn he would undoubtedly slip his identity to both his father and Amaterasu. Victims couldn't control themselves in what they did or what they said.
It was over, ah well. It's fun while it lasted. Would Amaterasu even be able to stop him though? Sure she's undoubtedly stronger but they were also partners, had it been the other way around he had no idea how he could fight her. Not like it mattered now.
Slamming the bedroom door and holding it down, Katsuyu flew over to him, sensing his distress.
"Sakura, what's wrong?"
"Katsuyu, you know who Amaterasu is right?"
"I do, but you know I can't tell you who she is-"
"Oh, Sakura my boy where have you run off to?" A shiver went down his spine, he sounded so creepy and scary. The Kwami seemed a bit perplexed too having never heard his father speak to him in such a manner.
"My father… he… he's Renshin." Katsuyu's eyes widened at that and her heart broke for him.
"I don't have a lot of time left, I'll stall as much as I can. Runaway, whatever but you need to go to Amaterasu and tell her about this. Tell her I can't be Byakugo anymore and find someone else. Find someone else to fight me to fight him."
"But… we can fight him. You can transform and we can fight together. You're getting really powerful now and-
"Katsuyu." Sakura tried to interrupt but she just kept rambling.
"He may be tough but Amaterasu will come along, you just have to keep thinking positive yeah? That's how it works and then-"
"KATSUYU!" Sakura tried to shout but Katsuyu just shouted back.
"I DON'T WANT TO LOSE YOU! Please, not you too." She sniffled, starting to cry and Sakura got confused at what she meant.
"I never told you this but-"
"Sakura, open this door." Too late, his father was on the other side.
"It'll have to wait, I'm sorry."
"No, I can't-"
"GET OUT OF HERE!"
Taken back as this was the first time Sakura had raised his voice at her, she nodded glumly and disappeared. Sighing with relief, Sakura knew it was harsh but holding the door as his father tried to push his way in was difficult enough.
He needed to buy enough time for her. Kizashi punched through the door, just about missing his head. Maybe it was too late, leaping away before his father literally yanked the door open. The two glared at one another.
"Who were you talking to?"
"Why no one father."
"This is no funny business."
"I never said it was." He kept taking a step back every time his father took one forward.
"I don't want to fight, you're my son and I love you very much."
"By forcing me to do your bidding? This isn't love, this is control and abuse and… and… urgh! Please, can't you see what you're doing is wrong?" Kizashi merely scoffed.
"My dear boy, nothing in life is fair as far as I'm concerned. Your mother's passing is proof of that, you have to take things with your own two hands and look out for yourself." Sakura was speechless at his father's selfishness, but he did have a point.
"Your right father, I should." And with that, he jumped out of his bedroom window leaping onto a tree close by. Being a superhero has its perks. Sakura didn't look back, just continued to run and escape.
Sasuke sighed as she relaxed on the bed, no one said spending the day with Naruko was easy with all the chatting and upbeat energy. She earned well-deserved rest.
And here I thought Akumas were bad enough.
Her Kwami Aoda had fallen asleep as soon as she got in. Even though he hadn't done anything.
Lazyass, Sasuke thought. Just as she was about to drift to sleep, a crying Kwami had caught her attention.
"Katsuyu?" Sasuke was confused, why did Katsuyu appear? Had anything happened? The poor Kwami was out of breath and sobbing completely out of it
"It's… it's… Byakugou. He… he can't be Byakugo anymore."
"What?" What did she mean he couldn't be Byakugo anymore? Did he quit? They hadn't had a falling out as far as she knew.
"What do you mean he's quitting? He can't quit!" No, they were partners, how was she supposed to find someone else?
"It's his father, he's… he's Renshin." Crap was the first thought going through Sasuke's head. Now, what were they going to do? Aoda had finally woken up hearing the noise.
"Sasuke, is everything alright in there?" Mikoto knocked on the door.
"It's fine." She shouted back to her mother, hoping she wouldn't come in.
"If you say so," she could hear the footsteps drift away and let out a breath.
"He… he told me to come here and tell you. I… I tried to tell him that we could fight him but he told me to go away and…"
"And he was right to do so," not that it made it any easier. "If he did lose then you'll be handed over, he wants to protect you."
"We can't replace him!" Katsuyu was quick to protest.
"No one can but we need to do something." Sasuke tried to think of something… anything. But nothing came up, no plans, no strategy, nothing.
"Do you know who Renshin is?" Even if she couldn't say Byakugou's real name, she'll be able to get an idea from Renshin right?
"He's… Kizashi Haruno." Sasuke froze upon hearing such a familiar name.
"Haruno? You mean Sakura's Dad?" Katsuyu nodded and Sasuke's emotions were running wild. You mean all this time, Sakura is Byakugou?
"Hello Princess, how are you today?"
"I donut want to glaze over the fact that I love you a hole bunch." He said whilst eating a doughnut. "Are you serious?"
"You add spice to my life."
"Can you please stop with the puns?"
"But I haven't even done this one yet."
"Urugh."
"Have you confessed to him yet?"
"No."
"Then how do you know if he won't feel the same way about you?"
"We need to find him." Katsuyu was caught off guard as Sasuke got her jacket and was about to head out the door.
"Oi, oi, don't let the emotions get the best of you," Aoda warned flying in front of her.
"He's my friend, I have to help."
"Yeah, because this has nothing to do with your own personal feelings." Sasuke just glared.
"And what do you suggest I do, stay here and do nothing?"
"No, but you can't go and tell him who you are. He's protecting you too, just because you know who he is, doesn't mean he has to know who you are." Continuing to glare, how was she supposed to stand there and do nothing?
"This isn't fair, this is not how it's supposed to go."
"No, but what choice do you have?"
"Fine, then I'll transform."
"Wait what, no that's not what I-" But it was too late.
Sakura wasn't able to run much faster, his legs were tired and whilst sure he could probably hide out the next worry was if his father was going to call out a search party. He wouldn't even be able to go to Ino. Unless…
Since he wasn't going to be a hero anymore, maybe it is possible to hide out at Ino's. Just explain the situation, he would understand. The two were best friends and knew each other long enough. However, a familiar figure appeared in front, as though she was searching.
"Amaterasu?" Katsuyu was with her as well.
"There you are, I've been looking everywhere for you." She ran over to him, to where he was between two buildings so they weren't out in the open.
"What are you doing here? You need to find someone else for Byakugou. Better yet, get a whole bunch of superheroes just in case."
"No, no one can replace you!" Taking his hand in hers, she wasn't about to give up on him yet.
"I appreciate it, but we have no choice. If my father catches me that's it." Katsuyu watched the exchange between them, torn on whose side to be on. On one hand, logically the safer option would be to find someone else and even if they weren't able to stop Kizashi they could hopefully take on Sakura. But on another hand, Katsuyu really didn't want to fight him.
"Can't you just transform and we both battle him? We'll get other friends as well, we may be at a disadvantage but he is too. Now that we know who he is."
"And risk him getting Katsuyu? No, you know we can't."
"This is bullshit!" A bit taken aback by her abrupt behaviour. Since when did she cuss or even go ahead without a plan.
"It's not supposed to end this way, we were supposed to beat him together, the two of us and then…" And then?
"We could reveal ourselves. I don't want to give up on you yet, I don't want you to forget me." Sakura flushed at the little confession.
"Oh uh, well this is the longest I've heard you talk." Amaterasu scoffed.
"Can't you take anything seriously?" How were they the same people, it seemed weird to see Sakura be a flirt. He just shook his head lightly, a blush appearing on his cheeks.
"Well, if you defeat us with your new partner. Maybe I won't have to." Although it wasn't exactly as simple as that, being a big if and even then it could possibly be too dangerous for him to remain as Byakugou.
"I don't want to lose you." She just repeated, feeling dejected. She laid her head on his chest fisting his shirt feeling tears brim her eyes. What was it going to take for him to realise that there was only one Byakugou? Fuck the rules, they've been through too much. Sakura put his hand on her back in a comforting manner looking at Katsuyu, sure this wasn't the plan but nothing turned out as expected.
There was a tingling feeling on the back of his neck, shit he'd been caught.
"You really thought you could escape me? Oh and I see you tried to warn Amaterasu as well, perfect then you can make it up to me by giving me her earrings." Sakura clutched his head, pushing her away roughly.
"No, I refuse."
"You can't refuse me, I am your father." Don't remind me
"Sakura…" Both Amaterasu and Katsuyu were looking at him with concern.
"Please... you need to get out of here… both of you."
"No!"
"I can't keep holding on like this."
"Stop being pathetic and give me her earrings, don't you want to see your mother again?"
"You can fight him, I know you can."
"He hurt my friends, he's abusing his power of the Kwamis and he couldn't care less right now if I am suffering. Do you really think I can fight all that? I didn't ask for this." Oh yeah and he wants to bring my dead mother back to life like that's possible.
"It is possible."
Shut up!
"And I know you, sure I can't begin to imagine what you're feeling right now but you're not alone. You have me and you know it. I know you're stronger than this."
"Stop resisting and give in."
"Why can't you just leave? I'm trying to protect you!"
"I can't because… because… I LOVE YOU!"
