More from the Miraculous AU. This isn't a continuation of the previous one. I thought I write some fluff with each of the ships like the show has. So these are a few quick snippets
Ship includes Male Sakura/Fem Sasuke
Hero Sakura: Byakugou
Hero Sasuke: Amaterasu
Amaterasu/Byakugou
"So what's the plan?" Byakugou asked as he handed Amaterasu a red rose.
"Flowers again really?"
"Hey, don't diss the flowers, each flower has a symbol. For example, this rose means I love you."
Amaterasu gave an unimpressed look. "That is the corniest thing I've heard." He gave a huff.
"Well it's true, you know most ladies would swoon at such a handsome man giving them flowers."
"You, handsome?" Byakugou pouted, "Well with these good looking green eyes and fabulous hair how can anyone resist me?"
"And yet here you are trying to flirt with the one that does resist you."
"Ouch, that was mean."
"Anyway in case you've forgotten. We're in the middle of an attack. Less ogling, more action."
"Aww but we always win anyway."
"What on earth is wrong with you?" Amaterasu screamed, throwing her yoyo against his head. He scowled, crossing his arms. "Nothing, I just don't like that guy." The said guy was a face Sakura was familiar with, he had red hair along with glasses and Sasuke suggested they could give him one of the Miraculous just as they had done previously with other people.
Sakura thought it was a great idea at the time until it looked as though the two were flirting. What happened to the I was in love with someone else? Unless…
"Mr Uzumaki? He helped us and was more useful than you."
"Oh, I'm sorry to be such a disappointment then." Unless he was that someone else. She did seem more familiar to him, almost like they weren't strangers. Maybe he was the person she liked. With that thought Sakura jumped away, they won the fight so as far as he was concerned they were no longer needed and he really didn't want to be in her presence any longer.
Sure he had no right to be jealous, but emotions couldn't be controlled. Amaterasu just stared at the spot he stood. Maybe she was too harsh.
"I think I can be you for the day," Byakugou spoke as he swished the yoyo around and around. Amaterasu just glared. "It's not that easy, you know?" Because of the mix up the two ended up using the other's kwami and as such had each other's power.
They didn't have a choice considering the villain was about to make its escape.
"You think my job is any easier, imagine trying to compete being with you. Everyone loves Amaterasu."
"This isn't a competition, and yes I'll have you know I can be you better than you." She smirked, causing him to scowl, of course, she could.
"This is some weird way of flirting." The villain in front of them spoke. Amaterasu growled, "we are NOT flirting!"
"See, even the villains can see it."
Ever since Byakugou ran away from their last mission, things have been tense between them. Both feeling guilty about what happened. Byakugou knowing he had no right to be jealous and have more faith in his partner and Amaterasu feeling like she could have made more of an effort and be less cold. That was something Naruko mentioned repeatedly as well.
'One of the reasons why you don't have a boyfriend is because you're always so cold. Do you think any guy is going to have an interest in you with that attitude? Even Sakura?'
Sure they had a fight at the time but she did make a point. Sasuke wasn't a social person, being in her hero form allowed her to refresh and start again. It was also why she had a heavy crush on her pink-haired classmate. Despite being so awkward, he knew she didn't mean anything by it and taught her to be more social and outgoing.
She sat next to him on the roof handing him a purple hyacinth. He looked at it then at her expectedly wondering why she gave him this flower.
"I asked someone what flower meant I'm sorry seeing as it's your thing and all. They suggested this." She blushed looking away, apologies never did come easy.
"Eh, ah I'm flattered but I should apologise. I was jealous and I had no right to be."
"You were jealous?" That didn't seem like him, and what would he be jealous of?
"I saw how well you worked with Uzumaki and like you said I was useless. Of course, I know I have no right to be, but still wouldn't it be better if you had a different partner? Someone who would work and fight with you equally?" Amaterasu sat frozen in place, was this really how she made him feel? Heh, she did it again. Naruko was right, no guy would like her. Tears spilt her eyes before she could stop and Amaterasu stood up looking down at him shaking.
"Of course not, look I get I've been too harsh. All my friends tell me how cold I am, that I'm the Queen of Ice. I've been told that number of times-" before Sakura had any time to object she continued.
"I didn't mean to make you feel this way but I promise I'll work harder, just… give me another chance. For us to work out." Sakura hadn't expected such an outburst, it made his heartache to see her cry like this. But he stood up putting his hands on her shoulders encouraging her to look at him.
"Well, for one thing, I don't think you're cold. It's such a cruel thing to call someone and please know that I never thought of you as such. Second, well maybe we can both work on this. We're not perfect and that's okay, we'll just improve together." He smiled, she sniffled, nodding feeling a little better.
"And thirdly?"
"Eh, oh uh there isn't one but I did want you to have this." Naturally, he gave her another flower, only this one seemed different from the Roses.
"What's this?"
"A geranium, it means stupidity. That stupidity being me so would you forgive this idiot?" Sasuke let out a genuine laugh, sure they clashed from time to time but his partner was certainly one of a kind.
Sakura/Sasuke
"I'm so tired." Sakura yawned, class hadn't even started yet.
"That's what you get forehead for being up so late." Ah, of course. He should have let the villains burn everything down. But he bit his tongue and nodded along.
"It's not my fault the game kept me up so late." He glanced around the classroom, everyone else was talking to one another and wide-awake. Oh, how he envied them.
But then I am the one who spends time with Amaterasu, he thinks and finds himself in a love daze. Ino coughed and he blushed at being caught. "Thinking about your secret crush again?"
"Shut up," he looked anywhere but Ino and noticed that Sasuke was sleeping. Even with Naruko's poking, he'd hoped she would wake up soon otherwise she would miss class.
"Alright, all to your seats now." Kakashi had called, ah too late.
Sasuke was startled in alarm hearing the lunch bell.
Shit, I slept in again. She cussed and banged her head on the table. This has been happening a lot recently. It wasn't her fault she had to save the day. Maybe Naruko had written some notes? Hah, who was she kidding? That girl couldn't even get a decent grade.
She dreaded asking Kakashi for the notes… again. He gave her a weird look the first time she did, as she was never one to miss or sleep in class. Now though, well nobody said being a hero would be easy.
"Here," someone placed a sheet of paper in front of her and of course, it was Sakura.
"I've been pretty tired myself lately, so I thought I'd copy my notes and let you sleep in. You looked so peaceful." She blushed at the comment, hopefully, he didn't notice. "Anyway, let me know if you need more, I'm sure I can give Ino an earful." She again nodded unsure how to respond.
Maybe slacking off had its perks.
"Hey what's wrong?" Everyone had left class now, and Sasuke was by herself. Well rather, they were now by themselves since he stood there. He noticed she hadn't seen herself so he thought he might as well ask her.
"Nothing," she lied, wiping the tears off her face.
"Well if it was nothing you wouldn't be crying. Come on, I thought we said we could talk to each other about these things." Taking a seat in front of hers and giving a small smile. Sakura didn't think he'd ever seen Sasuke cry before. Usually, he was the cry-baby, well that's how they first met. Her meeting him cry, to say it was embarrassing was an understatement. Sure Sakura understood now that there was nothing wrong with a man crying but at the time, there was a lot of toxic masculinity and 'real men don't cry.'
"You know I won't leave till you tell me so you might as well." Pouting at the insistent but she sighed, maybe getting an outsider perspective would help.
"What do you do if you've upset someone?"
"Eh, you kind of need to be more… specific. There are many ways to upset someone." Sasuke frowned at the thought, it wasn't like Sakura could know exactly what happened. They had to keep their identities a secret so they tried to find a roundabout way on how they could get the same advice.
"I mean, like if you offended someone. You see my friend acted out in a certain way, out of character I guess you could say and… I feel like what I said may have been too much."
"Hmm, well if your friend acted out of character maybe they're part of the blame too. So I wouldn't overthink it too much. But you could just try apologising, I know it may not seem like much but it's worth a shot." She nodded, maybe an apology would do?
"Ah, you know some things about flowers right? Is there one that says how you apologise to someone?"
"Actually there is, and yeah Ino taught me about it. I could show you if you like. I kind of owe someone some flowers too."
"Say Saks, do you have anyone to go to prom with?" They were a bit older now, and everyone was getting excited about prom. Everyone except Sakura, he didn't really feel in the mood seeing as he wasn't going to ask the love of his life. What would be the point? Plus he wasn't sure if she would ever feel the same way.
"No, I'll probably give it a pass."
"You can't miss prom! It's like one of the big traditions." Ino looked shocked, well it's fine for him as he had a girlfriend to go with.
"It's fine really, it's not like I have anyone special to go with."
"But-"
"Ino-Kun, we need you." The girls called out squealing, they were still preparing for prom. He sweatdropped but nodded. "I'll be right there. Are you sure?" He asked looking at his friend, he had hoped to help Sasuke out and get them together but he couldn't force his friend to go.
"I'll be fine. Don't worry." Ino nodded and left him to it, Sakura still had one thing to do before he left.
"Hey Sasuke," he knocked on the door to where she and Naruko were working on the decorations.
"Ah hi-" Did he really have to come now right when Naruko was teasing her about him. Said blonde friend grinned and pushed her towards him. With a glare, Sasuke sent her best friend back.
"These are for you," he handed her a bunch of yellow roses catching the raven head off guard.
"But uh, what are these for?" Great now her face was red like a tomato and Naruko was sniggering in the background.
"They're just a way to thank you for everything you've done for me. You know hearing me rant, helping me out at times. I'm not sure if you're a flower girl but this was all I could think of." Rubbing the back of his head smiling sheepishly.
"Anyway, I should get going. I hope you two enjoy prom."
"You're not going?" Of all people missing prom, Sakura wasn't one of them.
"No, I think I'll give it a miss. See ya!" Naruko whispered in her ear. 'This is your chance, you idiot. He clearly doesn't have anyone to go with so why not ask?'
For once, the idiot had a point
"Ah, wait," she caught up to him catching his sleeve.
"There's something I want to say." Feeling Naruko's eyes on her, as well as his own glancing in wonder. Sasuke tried to gather her confidence.
"Uh, the thing is… what I want is… um just… to thank you as well for everything so here." Rather than ask him to prom she bottled it and instead gave a single flower from her batch instead. Naruko face palmed but he let out a small smile.
"Thanks, but you didn't need to."
"Why are you crying?" A little Sasuke asked a pink-haired boy, he sniffed trying to hide his tears.
"I *hiccup* I'm not crying." Well, that's a fat lie but Sasuke shrugged as she sat next to him.
"There isn't anything wrong with crying, my mama told me." He gave a little pout. "Yeah but you're a girl, boys are expected to not cry."
"Well, that isn't fair." The two sat in silence for a while with a few hiccups and sniffling.
"They were making fun of my hair." Sakura finally spoke out thinking he should explain.
"Why?"
"Because it's pink." He soon felt a hand on his hair, ruffling it. "I think it's really cool!" She smiled and Sakura could feel a light blush. "Ah, you think so?"
"Yeah!"
"Sasuke-Chan, we have to go."
"Oh, sorry I need to go now. Bye and remember your hair is cool." She smiled and he smiled back. They never saw each other again, until they went to the same high school.
"Eh, you remember me?"
"Well, it's hard not to recognise such a unique hair colour."
"Haha thanks, you know, your words have been keeping me going throughout the years so I'm really grateful to you." This time it was Sasuke's turn to blush, who thought he grew up so handsome and such a gentleman. "Ah, it's no problem."
"Nee nee Sasuke-Chan why are you blushing?" Naruko teased. "Shut it!"
Sasuke/Byakugou
"Aaaah!" A beam was almost going to hit Sasuke but thankfully Byakugou came just in time much to her relief. Mikoto had been the next person to be akumatized due to the fact that Sasuke wasn't spending much time with her.
"Are you okay?" That had been the first time they met in their other form.
"Ye-yeah, I think I may have offended my mother…"
"Hey, you don't need to explain yourself. We just need to keep you safe."
"Are you trying to take my daughter away from me?" The villain screamed and Byakugou stuck his tongue out. "Yes, I want to sweep her off my feet." And with that, he quickly picked her up jumping on the buildings to escape.
"Come back here you annoyance."
"Did you really have to make her angry?"
"I can't help it, villains love me." He teased and thought where to put her. He hopped into a small building hoping no one else was about.
"I think this place is clear. You should be safe for now, don't worry Amaterasu will be here soon and then we'll get your mother back."
"Ah, I appreciate it."
He smiled but before he went she stopped him worried.
"Wait, my classmate, Sakura was there too but I hadn't seen him get out. Can you check on him?" Sakura nearly fell there and then. "Don't worry, I'll check and make sure he's safe. What does he look like?"
"Oh well, he has pink hair and green eyes… kind of like you."
I really need to think before I say anything.
"What is this?" Byakugou asked as he was dragged up on stage by Ino.
"This is a blind dating game. All we want is for you to go on a date with this girl."
"Wait what, but my heart belongs to Amaterasu."
"And that's very sweet but come on. It's for fun and charity, you wouldn't want to upset her now would you?" Byakugou glared, of course only Ino could come up with a scheme like this.
"Fine."
"Great, now Byakugou meet Sasuke." He introduced them and they both swallowed feeling awkward.
"You both will be going on a date."
Isn't this terrific, they both thought sarcastically.
"Don't take this the wrong way but you know nothing can happen between us right?" Byakugou told a seething Sasuke who was pissed at having Naruko drag her here.
"You act as though I want this too?"
"I'm just being honest,'' he shrugged, grinning. "But if that's how you feel, we have nothing to worry about."
"Hey!" Byakugou appeared on Sasuke's balcony. Why was Sasuke even here, shouldn't she be at prom with everyone else?
"Byakugou, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be saving people?"
"Hmm, I don't think anyone needs saving, do you? But if you want me to leave I can-"
"No, that's not… I mean sure you can stay, but my parents are up here so it's best to keep it a secret okay?"
"Oh, sure!" He smiled, happy to have some company.
"Can you keep a secret? I'm not really on patrol, I just didn't want to be by myself at home. My parent is quite… busy. So I figured everyone else could use me, but there doesn't seem to be any danger." Now that Sasuke thought of it, she never heard of Byakugou's past. Well, shouldn't really, seeing as they shouldn't know anything about each other.
But it wasn't like he knew who she was.
"Just one parent?" He nodded sadly.
"Yeah, it's just us."
"Sorry," she mumbled, unsure how to respond.
"It's fine, plenty of people do. Besides, you get used to it."
"Well I guess, but I mean… being a single parent. I imagine it's harder to make time for your children." He gave a hum in response, she had a point but sometimes Sakura wondered if his father purposely ignored him.
"Guess what, it's my prom soon but I don't think I'll go. It's not really my thing." Thinking ahead in allowing her to believe he had a different prom night, he hoped it would encourage her to open about why she was there too.
"Actually, my prom is today."
"Eh? Really? Why are you here then? Are you late? I can take you there if you like-"
"NO! I mean that's not necessary… I don't want to go." She gave a depressed sigh.
"So… you're skipping your own prom too?"
"Yeah, I wanted to ask someone but never got around to it. I don't really want to be around all the lovey-dovey couples, you know." Sakura frowned, sure it was one thing for him not to go but Sasuke could still enjoy it. He also didn't realise she had a crush on someone.
Suddenly an idea hit him.
"Ah hey why don't we have a dance?"
"Wh… what? You and me?"
"Why not? Your balcony seems to have enough room. Besides, I'm a superhero, I can't leave a girl by herself on a prom night." He grinned, holding his hand out to her.
"Just one dance, that's all I'm asking." She nodded, a bit dumbly and unsure how to act.
"Actually, could you wait here for a bit?" Byakugou nodded and gazed at the stars, it's a perfect view. A little voice came out ten minutes later. "I'm ready."
"Oh, wow!" He almost blushed looking at her, she did look beautiful in her red dress. "I uh… you look-" He stumbled unsure what to say, well Sakura never did give such compliments to his classmate.
"Speechless huh?" She teased and he gave a small pout. "Well, I didn't expect you to come out like this." Chuckling a little once again Byakugou handed out his hand for her to take. "Shall we?" She nodded, bowing in response. "You may."
"Are you sure it's okay for me to hang out here?" Byakugou was currently in Sasuke's room. It was nice and clean and nothing too girly as expected from Sasuke. Although he did note she still had the flowers he gave her as Sakura earlier from prom.
He had a fight with his Dad and really didn't fancy going back anytime soon.
"It's fine, my parents are out so they're unlikely to catch you," she shrugged.
"Heh, thanks by the way this is for you." He gave a single sunflower. "Sunflowers mean friendship and I'm really grateful for our little one. Although I'm sure Amaterasu wouldn't feel the same."
Considering he shouldn't be making friends in his hero form.
"Like I said, it's no trouble and what she won't know won't hurt her." Oh, how little did they know?
Sakura/Amaterasu
"Are you okay sir?" Amaterasu spoke as she was on top of Sakura, he snapped out of his daze. He didn't even realise he was about to walk into a villain attack.
"Uh, yeah I'm fine. Sorry…" He gave out a low mumble.
"You should be more careful but I think it's safer over there." She pointed to the nearest exit out of the building. The pink-haired boy merely nodded thanking her for her help as he sprinted away.
"Good luck, not that you need it." He let out a dazzling smile and as she watched him leave Amaterasu blushed. "I can't believe I sat on top of him."
"Hey, you alright?" It was by chance but Amaterasu was getting stressed from all the hero work she's been doing and completely forgot to detransform. She was sitting on the pavement with her hands on her head.
"I'm fine!" Trying to put on a brave face but it was useless. Sakura knew when someone was upset.
"I don't believe you, don't take this the wrong way but even superheroes should relax." He smiled gently at her. "If you want to vent I'm available now."
She could only nod and let out how stressed and depressed she was with all the work. Sakura was such an easy person to talk to.
"Why don't you talk to Byakugou about this? I'm sure he would help if he knew about this."
"I know but I don't want to worry him. He does enough as it is."
"Your partners aren't you? If I was him, I would want to know how you were really feeling."
"You think so?" Amaterasu wasn't sure but maybe her classmate had a point.
"Instead of it being just you, you should work 50/50. Both of you do so much so it only seems fair right?"
"I guess you have a point. But he's still going to go mad with me not saying anything sooner."
"He's just worried about you."
The two broke the kiss, it wasn't like either had wanted it. They just both happened to be underneath the mistletoe at the party and people around them were chanting kiss, kiss, kiss.
Sakura looked sheepishly at them then back at her.
"It's only a kiss." He said yet to her it felt like so much more.
Once Sakura made his way to the bathroom Katsuyu came out, "that was just an excuse to kiss her wasn't it?" He blushed. "Oh shut up, you know I'm no good with peer pressure like that."
Amaterasu had gone outside trying to cool off and figure out what in the world just happened. She just kissed her crush, in her hero form but he would never be able to realise it was her. If Naruko knew well she'd have a field day.
"I swear it's not what it looks like?" He blushed looking anywhere but her.
She just raised a brow, Amaterasu had only meant to give him some gifts from a secret admirer he had. Not that she wanted to do it, of course, but she was their hero. How could they say no?
"You're an Amaterasu fan?" Looking at his shirt, honestly, it made her feel a little better having what was about to happen next.
"Well… I have both yours and Byakugou as shirts. It's just… kind of embarrassing actually having the hero… see it." That's the excuse but he'll be damned letting Amaterasu know about it.
She giggled in response.
"Actually, I'm flattered. By the way, I'm here to give you this." She handed him some flowers and chocolate. Sakura looked confused at them for a moment.
"It's not from me if that's what you're thinking."
"Oh no, that wasn't it. It's just uh… these flowers mean different things so I don't think they know anything about them." Now that was interesting.
"You see, pink carnation means I'll never forget you, yellow chrysanthemum means slighted love, yellow carnation means disappointment, rejection and lilac means the joy of youth. So it's kind of hard to understand what they're trying to say."
She gave out one of her rare laughs, of course, anyone would pick random flowers that looked pretty together to give to someone but to think a person like Sakura would try to understand what they said by it.
It was pretty amusing.
