Just some fluff
Sasuke turned his head to the left, right, up and down. Hey, you can't be too careful. Feeling satisfied that none of his fangirls were out here the young Uchiha sat on a pile of grass.
Honestly, the poor boy was only eight and he was running away from girls because… they were crazy. Really crazy. Just as he was about to dig into the food his mother made for him he could hear commotion from around the corner.
"Next time don't talk back to me and maybe you'll actually eat for a change," a bunch of cackling can be heard as well as sniffling.
Curious about what was going on, he peeked around the corner. There were three girls going up against one pink-haired one and her lunch was all over the ground.
"What… what if I tell the teachers that you-"
"That we what, tried to be nice to little Sakura-chan but she threw our food back at our faces." She froze at that looking down.
"Face it pinkie, without money your nothing. None of the teachers will believe you because our parents are important people. Why would we ever do such a thing? Unlike you." The three laughed again and finally left the poor girl alone.
Sakura wanted to cry but by now, she was used to the endless amount of torment. She knew how lucky she was to get into this school, but she didn't think it would be this bad.
A snap was heard and Sakura turned to see a young boy.
They held eye contact for a moment before she turned away to pick up the food that was all over the ground. Sasuke just stared unsure of what to do. On one hand, he disliked girls and found them annoying.
However, he knew better than to let someone starve. Especially when she couldn't even do anything about it. Sasuke may be young but he knew how things worked. Adults with money will always do their best to cover up for their kids, his father told him such people existed and frankly, it made him sick. The Uchiha boy looked back at where his lunch was and turned back to get it.
Chances are she might refuse at first out of embarrassment but she needed to eat.
"Uh…" Sasuke walked up to the pink girl unsure how to start the conversation.
"You can have some of my food if you want. My mom packs me enough."
"Uh, thank you but I'm fine really." Her stomach growled in protest and he just gave her a knowing look.
"I don't mind, really." She blushed at the embarrassment but meekly nodded allowing him to sit next to her. Sasuke put his lunch in-between them and started to eat his food as if it was nothing.
She hesitated at first, he noticed but hunger must have gotten the best as her stomach growled again and she took one of his sandwiches awkwardly nibbling it. Then another and another.
Sasuke felt satisfied seeing her comfortable with eating around him
"Thank you um…"
"Sasuke."
"Thank you, Sasuke-Kun." Her smile almost made him blush.
"Hey mom, can you pack me an extra lunch from now on?"
"Oh? What brought this on?"
"It's… for a friend." Of sorts, at looking at his blushing face Mikoto giggled but agreed.
It was the start of their friendship. Sasuke would sneak away from fangirls and sit with Sakura to make sure she had something to eat for lunch.
Once rumours started spreading, about their friendship, the bullying subsided and as such, Sakura was able to have her own lunch. Although it still didn't stop them from sharing.
At fifteen Sasuke, Sakura and Naruto sat in the canteen eating their lunch.
"Can you please help me with the project Sakura-Chan?"
"Fine, but you have to pay attention. I'm not doing it all like last time"
Sakura reached to take some of Sasuke's food, which Naruto noticed. They tended to do that a lot and it confused him.
"By the way, what's up with you two sharing each other's food? I mean you have your own lunch in front of you."
Both Sakura and Sasuke shrugged.
"It's a habit," Sasuke spoke.
"Eh, then can I have some too?" Sakura rolled her eyes but pushed her plate forward allowing him to take something. Even if it was now a habit, to her it meant something more as it was how she met Sasuke and the start of their friendship.
