A couple of days later, Cinderella was holding an engagement party for Ashlynn and Hunter at the castle, and most of Ever After High had come.
"My mother has really gone overboard this time," said Ashlynn as she stood with Hunter looking at the decorated ballroom and all of the guests who were scattered around. The media was even there waiting to get an interview with the two of them.
"She's just showing her support, and it's actually the best party I've ever been to," said Hunter as he stood with his arm wrapped around her shoulder.
"I won't take that personally," said Briar as she and Apple walked up to the two of them.
"You shouldn't, your parties are amazing, it's just that this one is bigger than any of those that I've been to," said Hunter.
"Congratulations on your engagement, you two," said Apple.
"We were surprised to hear about it, but you two are good together and I kind of had a feeling that this may happen," said Briar.
"Thanks girls," said Ashlynn as she hugged them.
"You're lucky to be able to have an engagement party, Daring and I will only have our wedding party after we graduate," said Apple with a disappointed sigh while thinking of this. Raven had been standing nearby by herself and once she heard this she started to leave without anyone but Ashlynn noticing.
"Hexcuse me for a second, I need to go get something from my room," said Ashlynn before leaving. Out in the hallway, Raven was walking toward an exit when Ashlynn caught up.
"Raven, did something happen?" asked Ashlynn as she cut the witch's escape off by rushing in front of her.
"I'm just not feeling alright so I was going to head back to the school," said Raven with the most forced smile that Ashlynn had ever seen.
"I know that we don't hang out a lot, but I can tell that you're not feeling sick or anything, so what's really the problem?" asked Ashlynn.
"Alright, but can we talk somewhere else, I don't want anyone overhearing this conversation," said Raven.
"Follow me," said Ashlynn before leading the witch down another hallway.
