Chapter 4

Morgan had taken Jennifer up to the round table room. The whole team sat around the table as Garcia briefed the team.

"Thank you for your help. I can't ask you to carry on and risk your careers for me. Who do I need to speak to and hand all the evidence in too." She asked standing up to leave

"That would be me, but sit your ass down Ms Jareau." Chief Greenaway told her

"Thanks for coming down so fast." Morgan thanked his old partner

"Jennifer, this is Elle Greenaway, she is with white collar crimes. I have explained everything to her and she is willing to help us." He smiled

"Jennifer please come with me and I will go through the evidence with you." Elle asked

"Your not going to arrest me are you ?" She asked very concerned

"No, don't worry Jennifer." She smiled

Jennifer and Elle arrived at the white collar crimes section of quantico. Elle arrived at her office and indicated for Jennifer to sit on her settee. She took a seat next to her and took her hand.

"Jennifer, the evidence is damning against you. Whom ever has set you up knowns what they are doing and have hidden their tracks very well. I wish, I could keep out of prison but every thing is stacked against you. Do you trust Emily's team?" Elle asked the very pale woman sat on her sofa

With the knowledge she was destined to go to prison she fainted on the settee. Elle quickly moved her feet up onto the settee and waited for the blonde to wake.

"What happened?" Jenifer asked as she opened her eyes

"You passed out, here drink this." Elle passed over a bottle of water.

"I have a plan but your not going to like it." The section Chief told her.

After explains her plan with Hotch now listening in via phone. Jennifer now looked paler, Elle didn't think that was possible.

"I can't keep you out of Federal prison that would look suspicious. I can arrange for you to go to solitary to keep you safe. I have a few friends who work as guards who owe me a few favours." Elle told the Jennifer

"Chief Hotchner, I need someone to keep Emily on the rails. I can't let my troubles get in the way of her recovery. She means too much to me to let her get hurt." Jennifer emotionally asked Hotch

"Jennifer, you have my word. But we need every one to act surprised when we arrest you, I will ask Garcia to stay with Emily. Is that acceptable?" Hotch asked

"Yes that would fine. Thank you for helping me it means a lot to me." She sniffed

Garcia turned on her laptop "According to these files Jennifer found she has defrauded 85 million dollars from Emily Prentiss's accounts. She has routed it all through Roselyn Financial investment group. Jennifer is named as the CEO. The supposed company car was purchased through this shell company." She sighed and continued "The money then goes to five investment companies in Russia where I loose track of it. I have searches running and should hopefully find something, I am not sure how long this is going to take. Whom ever did this was good but no one is as good as me. Emily, I checked on your mother as requested. She has gone to a lot of trouble hiding her bank accounts with layers of security. But nothing stops the might cyber queen. She is now down to her last 4.5 million dollars in all her accounts. Her investment portfolio took a massive loss just over a year ago. She will be bankrupt in one month." Garcia told everyone

Emily looked down at her hands and flung he plastic water bottle at the wall

"Un fucking believable!, stealing my money and setting Jennifer up as a patsy. She would have needed help to do this Hotch, we can't let Jennifer get arrested and imprisoned. She doesn't deserve that, she has only ever had my interests at heart." Announced a determined Emily

The group spend the next few minutes tossing ideas about trying to find something they could use to help Jennifer's case.

"They have stitched her up good and proper. Everything points to her the car and safety deposit box and Roselyn Financial investment group With her as the CEO. I'm not sure we can do anything to keep her out of prison." Announced Morgan .

Elle walks back in supporting Jennifer who looks very pale. Ellie guides her to a vacant seat and sits her down.

"Thank you for trying to help me guys, Elle has told me how screwed I am. Emily please don't revert back once I have gone, I don't think I could take that I have grown very attached to you over the past six months, even when your acting like a petulant child." Sniffed Jennifer. And to Emily's surprise kissed her on the lips.

Elle and Hotch are deep in conversation and suddenly break apart.

"Jennifer Jareau you are under arrest for the embezzlement of 85 million dollars. You have the right to…" Elle reads her rights as she handcuffed Jennifer

Emily jumps up into Hotch's face instantly "what the fuck Hotch?"

"She broke the law Agent Prentiss, the evidence is damming. Since when did the FBI take the word of embezzlers over the evidence. Your too emotional go home." Elle warned Emily

"The FBI have just arrested her for embezzlement, how did they find out?" Elizabeth Prentiss asked Rory Winston worriedly

"I don't know Elizabeth, Everything was secure, it was perfect. There is no way they could know anything about our plan. I am positive we are fine." He told Elizabeth trying to sound confident. Inside he was panicking. He thought he still had 3 months, he hadn't completely tied his loose ends up.

Rory Winston cell rang and frighted him.

"Rory Winston" he answered

"Mr Winston, this is section Chief Greenaway from the white collar division of the FBI. We have arrested one Jenifer Jareau this afternoon. We would like you to return to your offices, we are searching your offices and electronic devices and computers at the moment. We have some questions for you. We have traced back from her supposed company car to a shell company she had set up in her dead sisters name." Elle told the man, she could hear worry in his voice over the phone

"Yes of course I will be right over. I can't believe Jennifer could be capable of stealing so much money. She looks so innocent, it just shows you can't judge a book by its cover." Rory tells Elle and hands up

He ends the call and just smiled to himself. He picked up his coat and car keys and walked to his car humming knowing there was no incriminating evidence at the office.

Hotch watched Winston walk out his apartments main door humming. He got into his car and drove off to his office to meet Elle. Hotch walked through the main door and showed his credentials to the concierge.

"I need to speak to Mr Owens apartment 5-10," smiled Hotch "he is expecting me."

The concierge just waved Hotch through.

Hotch arrived on the 9th floor and skilfully opened Winston apartment door and bypassed his alarm by entering the engineers code. He started to systematically search the apartment for his laptop. Elle had explained he would do all the work away from the office.

"There you are."Hotch smiled

He turned the laptop on and inserted a memory stick into the USB port that cyber crimes had given him. Loading the two programs on the memory stick to the computer one programme was a key stroke recorder that sent the keystrokes out real time over the internet. The second programme sorted through all files on his computer and transfers copies and sends them over the internet in the background unnoticed. Any new files would automatically be sent. Ten minute later Hotch closed the computer down. On his way out he planted three bugs in the apartment Bedroom, lounge and kitchen.

Smiling as he drove back to his house he laughed out aloud "I miss all that sneaky stuff"
