Creepy Clown [Overly Affectionate Animatronics – no pairings]
The cacophony of squeaking and scraping grew louder as the hidden bot grew closer to the waiting technician. A loud bang overhead his final warning before a mass of wires tumbled down on top of him, wrapping around his torso, arms, and legs before pulling him up to the ceiling. Looking up into the darkness of the vent, the technician wasn't surprised to see a white mask peering down at him.
"Hello, Ennard."
Illuminated blue eyes blinked at the casual response from the human. No screaming? No flailing in panic? Interesting. "Hello, Eggs Benedict." Wires shifted all around him as the animatronic leaned in, nose nearly brushing the human's. "Or should I call you Eli?"
Well-accustomed to having the animatronics push into his personal space, Eli shrugged, or tried to anyway. "Whichever you prefer."
Humming, Ennard lowered the technician, dropping him the last few inches to keep the human on his toes. Eli stumbled slightly, but easily regained his footing, turning around just in time to watch Ennard lower himself from the vent. The clown's damaged endoskeleton was largely held together by twisting wires that continually shifted to maintain balance. The bot's self-formed endo was remarkable for something that had been built solely by the AI before him. Self-repair wasn't in any of the animatronics programming, yet here stood one who had rebuilt a body from a torn apart, tangled mess. Still, Eli's fingers itched with the desire to help. He could see places where welding or rewiring would greatly help Ennard's mobility and comfort, but it would require a delicate touch. Something that only a human technician could do.
Ennard stared down at the technician, standing at his full height he was surprised at how small the man was. Sure, he'd just had him in his grip and he'd seen him working with the others for weeks, but it was so much more apparent when they were standing together.
So was the staring. "Am I as scary as they say?"
Realizing what he'd been doing, Eli felt his cheeks burn. "No! Oh- no. You're not scary at all! I was just admiring your work and thinking about what I could do to help."
Ennard stared down at the human that was now smiling up at him. He certainly wasn't like the other technicians. Coming to a decision, he placed a hand on the human's shoulder, pleased when he didn't flinch or become nervous. Eli's now curious expression was a breath of fresh air in this stagnate place.
"My sister and the others seem to like you. So I guess I'll give you a chance."
