A man dies for unknown reasons and is given the chance to reincarnate into his favorite anime with the power of the system, its very simple at the moment and I don't entirely know what I'm doing, this is the first draft of a first fanfiction but please don't hold back on the criticism its appreciated and id love to see what you have to say, the Content rating may go up over time

1. Chapter 1

Chapter 1: A Whole New World

I'm dead

I'm not sure how it happened, all I know is I was walking down the street after getting some ice cream turned after hearing a loud sound, and then… that's all she wrote. Was it a gunshot? A car crash? I don't know.

I was a pretty average guy, my appearance doesn't matter at this point though so ill just talk about my life, I lived on my own and had a decent relationship, my parents always cared about me though being the middle child always left me in the shadow of my siblings I still got the attention I needed to grow, I ended up dropping out of high school to get my GED and I was going to school to be an engineer, me and my partner were planning on having kids together… my partner… she must be heartbroken…

well anyways I always loved watching anime, reading manga, and manhwa YES THERE IS A DIFFERENCE, sorry old annoyances, the main difference is manhwa is from Korea so I can see how most people would confuse the two my favorite two back from when I was alive were very similar, The Gamer and Solo Leveling, and my favorite anime were Naruto, Bleach, and That Time I got reincarnated as a slime.

Reincarnation… that would be nice, this void is starting to get unsettling, to be honest, I'm pretty sure the only reason I still have a sense of time right now is due to all this inner dialogue… is it inner? I cant tell, I don't have a head anymore so it might be spoken out loud but without ears… or a body for that matter I wouldn't be able to tell.

Oh, I blacked out for a minute there, was it a minute? Or an hour? Maybe a week? I don't know its kinda hard to tell time like this, it'd be nice if something would happen in this void

...that's it, my mind finally broke, there's no way I got chosen for that, and what next you're gonna tell me I'm gonna get reincarnated into an anime universe, I would laugh if I had a voice right now.

[Ah yes I almost forgot, the reason for you getting this chance is due to your death being a bit of a mistake? The guys upstairs were kind of swamped with everything going on in your world at the time, you aren't the only one who was mistakenly taken before their time and many others are receiving similar chances]

so there's a chance I might run into someone from my world?

[Maybe, though I should tell you that there are hundreds of thousands of versions of each of these worlds and there is a very low chance that 2 people will choose the same world and get the same version as each other]

Oh… can I at least ask what happened to my partner after I passed?

[They are doing okay, they miss you greatly and will take a long time to move on, would you like to pass a message to them for when they pass?]

um… will they get the same choice as me?

F-fair enough, so what options do I have?

[You will choose your world first, as depending on the world you choose you will have different options]

Oh right! Hmm… I guess ill choose the Naruto world, id love the others but considering all the options are very… Deadly… 'd like to go with the one where if I do nothing at all I have the least chance of death.

[All right! Now you are going to choose your village first, this will decide what options you have for clans, time periods, and customization options.]

Leaf! Duh, why would I want to be in any other village, plus this way I might be able to be friends with Naruto himself! And maybe even try some of that Ichiraku ramen!

[Okay boss, now, your clan options are as follows]

[Uzumaki] [Uchiha] [Hyuuga] [Inuzuka] [Nara] [Senju] [Akamichi] [Yamanaka] [Etc.]

I think for a moment before asking is it possible to choose a fusion of two or more?

[Yes however some combinations are not possible and others would narrow your options down to nearly none]

oh…

[one of the most popular combinations is the Uchiha/Hyuuga fusion, however, due to the presence of the Uchiha clan it must be pre-massacre, and any combination with the Uzumaki in the leaf will have to be before the fall of Uzu or risk causing an {MDIC}]

What's an MDIC?

[an MDIC is a Major Deviation In Canon, in this case, if you were to choose an Uzumaki fusion post-Uzu fall you might either cause a larger Uzumaki presence in the Leaf or change the Birth Clan of The Fourth Hokage.]

I CAN MAKE THAT BIG OF A DIFFERENCE!?

[Yes however choosing to do something like that would also change the main character Naruto]

o-oh yeah id rather not do that, so I think ill go with the Uchiha/Hyuuga fusion

a box appeared in front of my face showing a kid that sort of looked like a tiny Neji with soft spiky hair and black eyes. Guess I'm starting as a younger kid, after a few simple changes such as the length of hair and height I spoke up asking where in the timeline id be dropped in

[Considering your choices you will be around the same age as Naruto and the rest of the Konoha 9]

so ill be growing up during canon then

[Yes however due to your… unique decision, you will be safe from the Uchiha Massacre now to choose your "Special Trait"]

special trait? Like something that makes me different than other people outside of the clan?

alright! So what are my options?

[Dojutsu Mutation] [Extreme Growth] [Prodigy] [Jinchuruki] [Reincarnation]

Dojutsu Mutation?

[Your Dojutsu will mutate in a unique way, instead of being born with 1 Byakugan and 1 Sharingan you would be born with a sort of Fused Dojutsu with the combined abilities of the 2 Dojutsu]

that seems kind of busted…

[that's the point, the other options are similarly broken, for example, the Jinchuruki option will give you a Tailed Beast that previously did not exist.]

I think I'll just go with Dojutsu Mutation as id rather not completely overshadow the main characters

[Alright I think that all that's left is to choose a name]

hmmm is there a randomize option? I've never been good at naming things and it'd probably be better to get a name the same way as everyone else in that world, make it feel a bit more… real?
