ALTERNATE ENDING!: In case you didnt already notice hehe...enjoy!(:

Jasper opened his eyes as he quickly checked the time on his phone. He got up quickly, the dizzyness coming back stronger now than before and hurried into the elevator. He rubbed his throbbing headache as he dreaded the lecture he was sure to get by Ray once he got down there. He rubbed his eyes as he walked into the mancave with feverishly hot blurry vision. He tried his best to walk to the table in a straight line as Ray started off.

"Did I really just see you sleeping on the job? We may not have a lot to do around here when there's no criminal activity going on but I don't pay you to sleep okay?", said Ray.

Jasper didn't really know what to say. He couldn't think straight and didn't know whether to look at the Ray he saw on the left or the right.

Schwoz, Henry and Charlotte stood by silent, not sure if they should bud in or not. Ray looked a little more upset than usual this time so they decided to say nothing.

"I-I'm sorry Ray you're right I just didn't get that much sleep last night.", said Jasper who was proud of himself for being able to come up with a convincing lie through his foggy brain.

Ray didn't really respond but with a slightly annoyed facial expression as he went back to the video game.

Henry looked at Jasper slightly confused. He usually would have explained himself more than that and he looked kind of strange though he couldn't pinpoint how exactly. He lost his train of thought thought as Ray handed him the other controller.

Jasper let his shoulders slouch as his whole body felt heavy and his brain felt so hot he thought he was gonna melt. He coughed harshly causing more red splotches on his sleeve which he really didn't have time to care about. His hope of just getting through the day and crawling in bed was depleting as the black dots danced along in his vision once again. It was getting harder and harder to breathe as Jasper suddenly felt much weaker than before.

His red hot vision then faded completely to black.

Charlotte looked away from her desk as she was about to go to the auto snacker when she saw Jasper slumped over the table. She furrowed her eyebrows in curiosity and confusion as she walked over to him. She almost chuckled at the fact that he'd fallen asleep again till she noticed his pale complexion. His chest seemed to be rising oddly and his breathing sounded too quiet. Charlotte was surprised when she went to shake him awake and she felt immense heat radiating off of his whole body. She put her hand on his forehead under his hair that she now realized was sticking to his head with sweat.

"Schwoz, Come here quickly", she said worried. Schwoz quickly came over as Ray and Henry got up hearing the panic in her voice.

"He's breathing weakly and he's really burning.", said Charlotte as Schwoz looked at Jasper laying on the table.

He quickly started taking Jaspers pulse and listening to his breathing.

"His pulse is weak, Charlotte go get the medical cart.", Schwoz said with urgency.

Henry and Ray watched with worry. They didn't know what to do or how to help as they looked at Jasper.

Charlotte came quickly with the cart as she pulled it up to the table.

"Ray help me get him on the table.", said Schwoz as Ray went over quickly.

They quickly lifted him up onto the table as Schwoz quickly examined him.

"Schwoz look", said Charlotte as she lifted his bloodied sleeve.

Schwoz's expression changed when he saw that and he hurried his pace.

"Charlotte I need your assistance okay? We need to perform surgery right now or we could lose him.", said Schwoz.

Charlotte nodded.

Schwoz started telling Charlotte what to do as they quickly prepped.

Ray and Henry stood back giving them room with confusion and shock.

"I don't understand. How did none of us notice? When did...how..I mean I..", Henry started but wasn't sure how to say what he was thinking.

"That's why he was acting like that today. I thought he was just slacking off. I didn't realize.", said Ray with guilt.

Two hours later the mancave was filled with worry as Schwoz and Charlotte finished up. Charlotte wrapped a bandage around Jaspers bare torso and chest as Schwoz inserted an iv and Henry and Ray approached.

Jasper was a scary shade of white and looked incredibly worn out. There were small tubes in his nose and sweat dripped down his face.

"Well it was rough. He has a severe case of pneumonia. He had a collapsed lung and has pretty bad lung damage. He's running a really high fever and we're trying to get it down but it's aggressive. The surgery for his lung went well but he's not out of the woods yet until his fever starts to drop. If it gets any higher he's at risk for a seizure. I want you guys to find the big bin in the back with my teleron accelerator in it. Take the accelerator out and fill the bucket with all the ice from the freezer and the auto snacker. Then bring it out here okay?", said Schwoz.

Henry and Ray both left without a word to follow Schwoz's directions.

Charlotte stroked Jaspers hair as he began stirring in his feverish sleep. She dabbed his forehead with a wet rag as he got worse. Jasper opened his bloodshot eyes in pain as Charlotte tried to calm him down.

"Jasper it's okay, it's alright relax.", she said in a calming tone as she grabbed his hand.

He was breathing heavily and had an unfocused glazed look in his eyes. She stroked his forehead as his breathing slowed. He had a painful exhausted expression on his face and Charlotte couldn't help it when her eyes welled up with tears.

Suddenly she felt his grip tighten as he started to convulse. Charlotte panicked as she stepped back with fear. Schwoz was there in a second as he held him down. He quickly looked at the screen that showed his fever had spiked to 105.7 degrees.

"Ray! Henry! I need that ice right now!", yelled Schwoz.

The two of them came running out of the back room carrying the large bin as they saw Jasper seizing.

Ray helped Schwoz pick up Jasper as they quickly lowered him into the ice.

The seizure ended as quickly as it started and the group watched with fear.

They could only wait with hope as he stirred feverishly from the clearly unbearable and overwhelming heat.

"Schwoz?", said Henry asking if it was working.

"It seems to be slowly working. His temperature is going down about 0.6 degrees a minute.

Jasper slowly stopped stirring as his temperature slowly dropped.

Henry pulled a shaking Charlotte into his arms.

Four hours later, Charlotte and Henry sat asleep in chairs by his side. Charlotte held his hand and Schwoz and Ray took shifts staying awake to watch Jasper.

Ray had his head resting in his hand as he started to involuntarily nod off. Suddenly he heard a cough. He looked up surprised to see Jasper cracking open his eyes.

"Schwoz", said Ray as he shook him awake.

Schwoz woke up along with Henry and Charlotte.

Seeing Jasper waking up Schwoz quickly checked his vitals and poured him a glass of water.

Jasper coughed as he somewhat shakily took the water and drank it heartily. He looked around confused, proceeding to rub his eyes.

"Jasper? How do you feel?", asked Charlotte.

"I'm not sure. Kinda like I've run a marathon, and kinda like I've been asleep for a year.", replied Jasper who was surprised at the tired hoarse voice that just came out of him.

They chuckled at that thinking how true that must be.

"Well it's only been about a day but you probably feel like that because of the sedatives.", said Charlotte.

"How is the pain Jasper?", asked Schwoz.

"Ok I guess, I've got a throbbing headace though.", he said tiredly.

He coughed sorely into his arm before speaking his main thought. "What happened?".

"You have pnemonia.", said Schwoz as he adjustee the iv.

"After you came downstairs and we..uh exchanged words you went to the table. Charlotte was the first one to see you had passed out and realized something was wrong. Schwoz had to do emergency surgery after your lung collapsed.", started Ray.

"Don't worry though the surgery went well. But although it went well you still had a pretty high fever. It was so high at one point that you'd started to seize. We had to get you into a big bucket of ice. That seemed to help right away much to our relief.", said Charlotte who choked back tears from the terrifying memory.

"Your fever is down to 101.2 now which is good. Now you really need rest.", said Schwoz.

"No argument here.", said Jasper who's eyelids had grown very heavy.

"Hey Jasper. I'm...I'm sorry I didn't notice there was something wrong.", began Henry. The others felt the same as they avoided eye contact with shame.

"I'm your best friend I'm supposed to know if-", Henry started as Jasper cut him off.

"No Henry it isn't your fault. You were doing your own thing and I should never have come to work in the first place. I should be saying sorry to you all.", he said quietly with exhaustion.

They all felt a little better after those words and all sat down as they saw Jaspers eyes droop closed.

"Good night Jasper.", said Ray quietly.
