(A/N: Okay, now we're on Chapter 12! We're making real progress in this fic if we're already at the 12th chapter! Let's get started!)
It was mid-summer in the city of Petropolis. So far, two couples have already given birth to their children. But this chapter isn't going to focus on the ones that haven't had theirs yet. For one thing, it's still not time for their kids to be born!
In this chapter, we're going to focus on Snaptrap and his henchmen. Now why are we focusing on Snaptrap and his henchmen? Well, let's go back to when Kitty was still in her first trimester, after she and Dudley found out that they were expecting triplets.
Dudley and Kitty showed up at a store that Snaptrap and his henchmen were in the process of robbing. Dudley was busy forcing Snaptrap's henchmen into submission, and Kitty was fighting Snaptrap.
"Kitty! Are you crazy?! You shouldn't be fighting! Not when you're pregnant!" Dudley exclaimed.
"Dudley! You're not supposed to say things like that in front of villains! Do you have any idea what they'll do if they find out?!" Kitty shouted. She didn't want any of the bad guys to know she was pregnant. If they knew, they'd target her and try to cause her to lose the babies. But at least Dudley didn't say how many kids she was pregnant with, and she hoped he wouldn't blab that. The last thing she wanted was for a villain to find out she was carrying triplets.
"Wait a minute! You're pregnant?!" Snaptrap exclaimed.
"(sigh) Yes." Kitty said, not really happy that he heard.
"Oh boy. If I knew, I wouldn't have done anything. Sorry." Snaptrap said.
"What do you mean, Snaptrap?" Kitty asked, surprised at Snaptrap's words, but still on her guard.
"Look, I may be a bad guy, but I'd never hurt a kid, and I especially wouldn't try to hurt an unborn child. So I'm going to take a break from crime until after your baby has been safely born." Snaptrap promised.
"Wow... Then again, I recall that when you used kids to avoid getting beat up, you never laid a finger on them... But we still have to put you in jail because of what you tried to do today." Kitty said.
"I know. Still, I promise not to do anything until after your pregnancy is over." said Snaptrap.
"Okay. Thanks, I guess." Kitty said.
Sure enough, for the rest of Kitty's pregnancy, Snaptrap didn't do anything. Other villains (except Dr. Rabies and Madame Catastrophe) caused trouble, but Snaptrap stayed true to his word, since he told his henchmen that he didn't want to do anything bad while Kitty was pregnant. Still, he didn't have to worry, because after that, Kitty started handling paperwork, which was a lot less dangerous than going after bad guys.
I figured that Snaptrap deserved a child of his own for what he promised Kitty. But his henchmen should each get a child, too, so that they wouldn't be left out. Also, Snaptrap is known for being the black sheep of his family, so he really needed a family member who loved him. Since Snaptrap loves kids, why not make that family member a child?
I went right to Mr. Stork and told him what I wanted to do. As I expected, he was not willing to give children to bad guys, but I badgered him until he (very reluctantly) caved in and let me have my way. Once the kids were ready, we made our way to D.O.O.M. H.Q.
Inside their hide-out, Snaptrap and his henchmen were sitting at the table in the main room, playing a game and talking.
"I wonder if Kitty had her baby yet?" Snaptrap said.
"Probably. I can't believe you decided to stop causing trouble when you found out that she was pregnant." Ollie said.
"It's only temporary. I wasn't going to do something that would cause her to lose the baby. I'd never do a thing like that! However, knowing that she was pregnant is making me want a kid of my own. Maybe I should shake down the stork for one." Snaptrap replied.
"No need." a mysterious voice said.
"Who said that?" Larry asked, looking scared.
"I did." the voice said again.
"Nice try, Snaptrap. It's not funny." Larry said, thinking Snaptrap had done it.
"It wasn't me, Larry. If it was, I would have thrown you in the shark tank, which is what I'm thinking of doing." Snaptrap said.
"Yeah, Larry. I was looking at Snaptrap when the voice was talking, and it wasn't coming from him. His mouth was closed the entire time." Francisco said.
"If it wasn't Snaptrap, then who was it?" Ollie asked.
Snaptrap and his henchmen were silent for a few minutes, and then they figured out who that voice might belong to.
"It's a ghost!" Snaptrap screamed, and he and his henchmen ran screaming into another room. Once they were in the room, Snaptrap closed the door and locked it.
"It's dark in here! Turn on the lights!" Larry cried.
So Snaptrap turned on the lights, only to hear a familiar voice say, "Turn the lights off, you reject!"
Snaptrap went pale under his fur at the sound of that voice, and sure enough, he realized that they were in the bathroom, for he looked and saw his mom in the room. She was naked, and ready to hop in the shower!
The villains started screaming in terror once again, and Snaptrap was fumbling with the door lock, trying as hard as he could to unlock the door quickly. When he finally managed to unlock the door, they ran from the room and hid behind a couch, trembling in fear (and his mom slammed the bathroom door shut).
Suddenly, Snaptrap felt a hand on his shoulder, and he screamed as loud as he could, "GHOST!"
"I'm not a ghost!" I said, sounding offended as I removed my hand from his shoulder.
"Oh, it's just Amanda." Francisco said, sounding relieved.
"Yes, it's me." I said.
"Was that your voice we were hearing?" Ollie asked.
"No, that was my good friend, Mr. Stork." I replied, and Mr. Stork flew into view, holding 4 tiny bundles in his bill.
I took 2 of the bundles from him, and we handed one to each of the 4 members of D.O.O.M.
"Mr. Stork! What's he doing here?" Snaptrap asked.
"Trust me, I'm asking myself the same thing right now." Mr. Stork replied.
"You know well why you're here." I told him.
"Because you wouldn't stop badgering me until I did what you wanted me to do." he said.
"That's because it's a good idea and you refuse to believe me." I reminded him.
"It's not a good idea. You're gonna be sorry." he said.
"No, I won't. But anyways, now that you've done your part, you can go so we can resume the story." I told him.
"Good. I'm getting outta here!" said Mr. Stork, and he flew away from D.O.O.M. H.Q. at top speed, eager to get away from there.
"So, what are these things?" Snaptrap asked, holding his bundle.
"Why don't you open them and find out?" I suggested.
So they did, and they were more than surprised to find a baby of their specie in the bundle.
"Look! My own baby! I'm a father!" Snaptrap exclaimed as he picked up his baby and gave it a hug.
"Is it a boy or a girl?" I asked.
"You don't know?" Snaptrap asked.
"No, Mr. Stork didn't tell me the genders of these kids." I replied.
"I'll check." Snaptrap said. He did, and then he said, "It's boy! I've got a son!" He hugged his child again.
"What are you going to name him?" I asked.
Snaptrap thought for a moment and said, "Perhaps I'll name him after my late hamster: Li'l Snappy! However, he's not going to be li'l forever, so we'll call him 'Snappy'."
"Good name." I said. Then I turned to Ollie and asked, "What about yours?"
"The rest of us checked our kids over while you were talking to Snaptrap. Francisco and I have girls, and Larry has a son, like Snaptrap." Ollie told me.
"You got a name for your daughter?" I asked.
"After a bit of thought, I decided to name her Melody." Ollie replied.
"I like that name." I smiled.
"I decided to name my girl Stella." Francisco said, holding his daughter close.
"Another nice name." I replied.
"Guess what I named my baby?" Larry asked.
"I don't have to guess. I already know you named him something stupid." Snaptrap said.
"I did not! For your information, I named him... Murray!" Larry said.
"Why did you have to go and give your kid a stupid name like that?!" Snaptrap yelled.
"Murray's not a stupid name." Larry said.
"It is, too!" Snaptrap yelled.
Unfortunately, Snaptrap had forgotten that you can't yell with babies in the room, because the noise frightens them. And sure enough, Snappy began to cry. It didn't take long for Melody, Stella, and Murray to follow suit.
"Way to go, Snaptrap! See what you did?" Larry asked as he tried to calm his son.
"What I did? You're the one who gave him that name!" Snaptrap reminded him as he and the others started doing their best to calm their children.
"You're the one who yelled." Larry said.
Suddenly, the sound of the "Piranha Plant Lullaby" from "Super Mario 64" filled the room, and it started to calm the children. The crying began to get quiet, and then the crying stopped. By the end of the song, all four babies had stopped crying and fell asleep in the arms of their daddies.
"How did that happen?" Snaptrap asked in a whisper, so as not to wake the children.
"That was my doing. I went on YouTube and found the song, then played it. At the rate you guys were going, those kids would never calm down." I said from upstairs, next to the door that led to the bedroom they shared.
"Oh. Thanks for helping." Larry said.
"Wait a sec! You're up there, and the computer's down here. How did you do that?" Snaptrap asked.
"After I put on the song, I went up here and conjured up a nursery for the kids. It's close to your rooms, so if the kids need something in the middle of the night, you'll be able to get to them quickly." I said.
Snaptrap and his henchmen made their way upstairs and opened the new door. Sure enough, the room did lead to a nursery. The villains placed their children in the crib that was in the room, then thanked me for what I had done.
"Think nothing of it. I was glad to help you guys out. Especially Snaptrap; he deserves at least one family member who doesn't hate him." I said.
"I don't know how I'll be able to repay you for this one." Snaptrap said.
"You don't owe me anything for that." I said.
But the following week, Snaptrap did help me prove to Mr. Stork that giving them kids was a good idea. They reformed for their kids, not wanting them to end up in jail.
"Okay, so you were right." Mr. Stork said, still not happy that I was right and he was wrong.
And so ends the 12th chapter of this story! In the next chapter, we'll rejoin Keswick and Claire, who we haven't seen since Chapter 7! Stay tuned!
