After Annie discovers Paul cheating on her one Halloween night, her life takes a turn she never would've expected, changing it forever.
"Why weren't you just honest? Laurie Strode asked her friend.
"You try being honest when you're stressed," Annie snapped back. "Not to mention the reasons why."
"The babysitting?" Laurie asked.
"I hate going down that neighbourhood alone late at night. It gives me the fucking chills! Tonight of all nights! I'm trying to finish this course too and…"
"And?" Laurie urged. Annie sighed. "Ah fuck! And!" She tossed a leather box on the table in front of Laurie, who opened it and gave a soft whistle. "Then just ask him," she said softly. "It's clear you love each other, so why not? You're not still thinking of Paul, are you?"
"That fucking jerk," Annie muttered. "No I bloody well am not!"
"Then don't let this part at least stress you out," Laurie said, handing back the box. "Just ask him already! What are you so worried about? He'll refuse? What?"
"Ah Jesus! I don't know! But I don't ever want to lose him and I want to prove that to him! Can't believe I said what I did…" Annie put her face in her hands. "What the fuck?"
"He said he'd come back to pick you up when you finish tonight didn't he?"
"He did," Annie sighed. "But that was before I was such a selfish bitch."
"He won't let you down," Laurie said softly. "If I've learnt anything about Michael Myers, it's that. If he said he'd do it, he'll do it. Argument or not."
"If you say so," Annie didn't look convinced. "Quite frankly I don't deserve him too."
"Come on," now Laurie stepped forward and hugged her friend. "He loves you. He's not going to leave you to walk back from there alone at that hour. Trust me."
"Still shouldn't have said that," Annie muttered. "I can't even remember how it started now. I just ended up shouting what did he know about working? His job was killing!" Laurie whistled softly. "Ouch."
"Yeah," Annie sighed, trying desperately not to snap at her friend again. "Tell me about it. He just looked at me then left. Fuck! How could I have said that? I love him! Funny way of showing it."
A little while later Laurie left and Annie headed down the street towards her babysitting job. She didn't look around as she walked, but as it was only seven in the evening it was well lit. Tonight when she walked back however… She shook that thought off. The family she worked for were nice enough, but the neighbourhood, well she hated it. Normally she whistled as she walked, but not tonight. Annie Bracket's heart was breaking. She could hardly believe it when six months in to their relationship, Michael had got a mobile phone purely so she could contact him. Tonight though it'd taken everything she had not to text him, but she didn't dare. What the hell could she say, would she say if she did? Sorry was such a difficult word and if she started she'd just break down. As she walked, she found her mind going back to just over two years ago and how it all started.
Annie left Paul's house, absolutely fuming. There were no tears. Not at that moment anyway. She was sure they'd come later, but right now anger was taking precedence over any other emotion. She could hardly believe what she'd just seen. Paul, her boyfriend of two years had been seen by her through his window, passionately kissing another girl, both of them naked. She'd looked away before she'd had to see anymore. She texted him stating simply, "fuck you, you cheating bastard." Paul hadn't yet replied, of course he hadn't. She figured he probably wouldn't either. Even if he begged, there was no turning back as far as she was concerned. Nope, she and Paul were history. She slowly started walking back towards hers and Laurie's neighbourhood. She needed her friend right now and a damn good cry. Not to mention a drink or two with alcoholic content.
Just as she was about to enter their street, she saw it. A flash of white. What the hell was that? She looked up again and yes. It was indeed a deathly white mask. She saw a tall Shape moving towards her, holding a huge knife. Her instinct was to scream, but perhaps stupidly, anger at Paul's actions had made her reckless. "Want to kill me huh?" She shot at the masked Shape. "Well go on then! Try me! I've had just about enough of men tonight! I really don't give a fuck what you do!"
Inwardly she was shouting at herself, what the fuck are you doing? But now she'd started, it was too late to go back. That much was obvious. Before she could as much as move, The Shape had grabbed her and was dragging her towards a pickup truck. Shit! Annie thought. Shit, shit! What the bloody hell's wrong with you Bracket? The Shape opened the back door and to her shock, lifted her up and in so she didn't have to navigate the high step up herself. Then he joined her, closing and locking the doors. She saw the blacked out windows then. Oh yes, this could be very bad indeed.
The Shape grabbed her then, and pulled her top over her head violently. Annie expected to feel fear. But still her recklessness from earlier was in play. Let him. She thought dispassionately. Let him. Paul cheated on me, so why not? Yet again she heard herself shouting in her head about how this made no sense, was she just going to let this masked guy rape her? Thinking fast, she turned to him and spoke softly. She couldn't lie, his tall, imposing frame was kind of sexy, plus the fact he hadn't spoken a word and she somehow already knew he wasn't going to.
"You're Michael Myers aren't you? That guy who escaped from Smith's Grove. I saw it on the news. Listen Sir, I won't tell if you don't," she actually winked at him. "But if you want from me what it looks like you do, I'll give consent, if you just let me go afterwards? Maybe I'm mad, but there it is. My ex-boyfriend was found by me cheating tonight. So right now I'm damn mad! Maybe that's why I'm agreeing to this. I won't tell anyone I've seen you."
The masked Shape of course said nothing, but Annie could hardly believe how gently he lowered her to the floor of the truck. He joined her and his warm hands softly touched her breasts. Annie removed her bra so he had unrestricted access to her skin. Automatically she reached for his own shirt without thinking and stopped herself. But Myers shook his head and nudged her hand back on to it, his silent consent. She gently lifted it up and touched his chest, just as he was touching hers. Tentatively, she pressed her mouth against his latex mask where his lips were concealed. One of his strong arms came around her, pulling her against him. He still didn't remove his mask, but his arm was gentle around her. Annie removed her trousers, as Myers did likewise. He lay atop her as they looked at each other. He was still holding her close even now. Slowly, he moved his hand between her legs and began to softly touch and stroke her clitoris. Annie couldn't help it and again moved automatically, reaching for his zip in turn. Her hand closed around him and she returned his gestures. Both of them were breathing heavily by this point. In unison they both pulled back, just enough for him to slide in to her.
Good God! The man knew what he was doing. Annie felt as if her every nerve ending was on fire from him inside her. He made Paul look like a boy during his first time, even though they'd had sex a lot. Michael Myers knocked spots off Paul's sexual talent. Bloody hell! Annie thought as they had sex once, twice as the hours passed. She's welcome to Paul after this! Holy shit! The Shape still didn't remove his mask or let her kiss him, but she didn't need to. As morning light started to filter in to the sky, Myers kept his end of the deal and released her, completely unharmed.
Annie could hardly believe what happened over the next six months. Myers had voluntarily returned to Smith's Grove. Annie could hardly believe that was to do with her and their amazing sex that Halloween night, but six months later, Myers had been released. Annie couldn't have said why, but most weeks while he was there, she'd gone to visit him. She wanted him to know that'd meant something, both the sex and his releasing her, when she could very well have ended up dead and she wasn't stupid enough not to realise it.
"You know," she said to him once while she stood on the edge of his yellow line in the exercise yard. "Once my anger cooled off, I asked myself if I was mad. I don't know what I was doing. I know how easily I could've ended up dead and I thank you that I'm not. Plus that felt amazing," she said very quietly.
Following Myers's release, he'd come to Annie's house that same night to find her. Annie had just been about to go to bed when she'd heard the loud knocking on her door. She opened it and there he was. "Hello Mr. Myers," Annie smiled at him. Nervously, but genuinely. "Come in." She stepped back to allow him to enter and before she knew it they were having dinner together. After which Myers had shown her his release papers. "Congratulations," she again smiled at him. "What… What changed?"
Totally silently Myers stood up and approached her chair. He was looking at her intensely. She stood up and wasn't surprised to find her legs were shaking. Myers pulled her to him and held her tightly. It really felt like a hug. She returned it and then took his hand as they headed up the stairs.
So it had continued for two months. But Myers stayed with her. Annie knew it was just sex but as time passed, she couldn't stop her feelings getting stronger and stronger for him. Finally, she'd told him one night. They'd just made love and were lying close together, holding each other close. Normally Myers eventually released her. That hurt. Annie wished she could cuddle in to him at night, but didn't dare.
"Michael," she murmured very softly. He'd held up a message that first night, telling her not to call him "Mr. Myers" any further. Annie had smiled at him. The killer had looked at her, still holding her. "Michael, I…" She took a deep breath. "I love our sex, but I… I think I want more. I want this to be real, permanent. Michael, I've fallen in love with you."
Once again she could still hardly believe she'd been able to say it as easily as she had. She'd been nervous about telling him for a couple of days, but she had to. There was silence for a moment and then Annie could hardly believe what happened. Myers removed his mask for the first time and she saw his face. Holy hell! He's gorgeous! She thought. Myers pulled her tightly to him as they looked at each other. "Wow," Annie breathed. "You're damn good looking to boot!" She was sure Myers smiled at her before Annie's heart almost stopped. Because Myers lowered his head to hers and they were kissing passionately. Finally, for real, with no latex barrier between them. It wasn't long before they were making love again but to Annie at least, this time felt more intimate than any of the times before, which she supposed made sense.
"I love you Michael," she whispered again. Myers kissed her in response, holding her tightly. "Please," she breathed. "Don't let me go tonight?" Myers simply tightened his embrace and for the first time, Annie Bracket slept in Michael Myers's arms. When she woke up the next morning, he was still there.
The next year had been paradise for Annie. She'd expected her father being the Sheriff to say something against it, but when it came to it and she'd told him, there'd just been a long silence before he finally said "well, it's your life Annie. He's been released after all and if he makes you happy…" Annie had hugged him for a very long time, blinking back tears. "Thanks dad," was all she could say.
After six months, Myers had got a phone so Annie could text him. She could hardly believe her eyes. Did this mean he wanted real just as she did? He'd never told her he loved her yet, but…
So tonight, Annie was feeling terrible about what she'd said. Michael actually had got a job and thinking about it made her feel even worse. As she walked in to the neighbourhood she hated, she looked up and saw a man leering at her from a doorway. She shivered and picked up her pace. Why had she said what she had to Michael? He'd said he'd take her there and pick her up, but after this she didn't blame him for not doing so.
It was then she saw and heard a car driving slowly beside her. How long had it been there? Her lost in her thoughts? Again she picked up her pace, her heart pounding. Shit she was scared, no denying it. She hated this place. That was when her phone buzzed with a text. She pulled it out and her heart went cold with dread when she saw it was indeed Michael. He was probably furious. The text read simply, Annie, stop.
Frowning, she did so and looked over her shoulder as the car stopped beside her. It was Michael's. How had she not recognised it? She couldn't drive yet as hadn't taken her test. Having only just started lessons. Michael wound down the driver's window as she got another message from him. I told you I'd take you Annie. Don't you trust me?
"I don't deserve it," she looked down at the ground. "Not after everything I said to you tonight. I'd have let me walk." She heard him sigh softly from behind his mask. "I'm sorry," Annie said quietly, blinking back tears. "I deserve this. I'll contact Laurie, see if she can pick me up. I… If you do, I'll want to beg you to please come home tonight and I don't have any right to even try to do that. I didn't mean a word I said." Tears streaming down her face, she turned and started to walk away. Seconds later, she received another text. Ok, then you give me no choice.
A second after she'd read it he lovingly grabbed her. She didn't even hear him approach. Just as he'd done two years ago, he led her to a vehicle. But this time, it was by the hand and was a car not a truck. Annie feebly tried to struggle, but it was only half hearted plus she knew she didn't stand a chance. Myers softly pushed her in to the passenger seat. She saw him clock the man who was still leering at Annie and instantly, he disappeared from his window. "Fucking coward," Annie muttered. She then realised Myers had clocked his address. She felt herself shiver, but not with cold. Even though it was freezing tonight and on the verge of rain.
Myers got in next to her, closing and locking the doors before he pulled her close and activated the heating. She only now realised how cold she was. He texted her again. Annie, oh, Annie. It's freezing, I told you I'd take you. You're not dressed for this walk either. Where's your jacket?
"In the trunk," she whispered, only realising now her teeth were chattering. "Of this car." Myers got out immediately and handed it to her by gently wrapping it around her shoulders. Then he re-joined her. "Thank you," Annie whispered. "Michael, I… I just…"
But she got no further because Myers pulled her in to his arms and removed his mask, before he was kissing her once, twice. Annie held him as tightly as she could as they kissed over and over again. "I'm so sorry," she sobbed as her tears fell. Myers wiped them away with a tissue. Her phone buzzed again. Shh, shh.
Annie hugged him fiercely. "I love you so much, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean a word I said, I'm just so stressed right now! I hate this neighbourhood! The family are nice enough, but this place it… It gives me the creeps."
This time she was sure she heard Myers say, "shh," as he continued to kiss her, softly stroking her back. "Shh." It made her cry even more. His comfort and love when she didn't deserve any of it. I told you I'd take you there. Why didn't you just wait? Angry or not I'd never let you down Annie. I don't like you walking alone here.
Annie hugged him again, her heart swelling with love at his protective words. "Because like I say, I'd have begged you to come home tonight and…" He silenced her, by taking her mouth back with his. She felt him hold her tighter as he did so, before another text came through. You don't need to beg me Annie. I'd never leave you all night. You don't have to do this job. Tell them you can't do it tonight, or in future if you want to. I know you don't like it here and I don't like you walking it. She read the text and saw him glance out at the address the man had been eying Annie from and then the knife in the driver's door. She shivered again.
"You're not going to," she said weakly. "Are you?"
Myers sighed, holding her tightly. Then he text his reply. Purely because you need me and you are my top priority, no. But I know where he lives and if he even thinks about doing that again… Annie kissed him this time. "Thank you," she whispered. "I really don't want you to have to go back to Smith's Grove."
I know. Michael kissed her again. Come on my love. Annie again felt her heart flip. My love? That was a first. Michael started the engine and pulled away.
They reached the house and Annie got out of the car. Michael was at her side in a second, reaching for her hand. "Are, are you…" She could hardly speak. Myers made no answer as they walked up to the door.
"Hello Annie," Mrs. Thompson said as she opened it after Annie rang the doorbell. "Oh finally! You've brought your charming boyfriend with you! We've heard so much about you," she turned and smiled at Michael. "You're all Annie talks about! I'm so glad to meet you Michael! I'm Ella Thompson! Do come in both of you. Can I get you both something to drink?"
Annie felt herself blushing as Michael raised his eyebrows and texted her again. I'm all you talk about eh? Annie blushed, but nodded and murmured, "because you're my everything, Michael. That's why I…"
Hey, stop. It's alright. We'll talk later if you want, tell me what you're stressed about. I know that's the only reason you'd say it. I'm not angry, it's all good. I'm here for you Annie, always.
They entered the house and the evening was uneventful. The Thompson children were a nice, cute pair of girls. They were good for and seemed to adore Annie. They even smiled at Michael and Annie could hardly believe what she was seeing when he crouched next to them and helped them with a puzzle. Once they'd been put to bed, Annie came back downstairs and sat beside Michael, who again pulled her close to him and kissed her. "I can't thank you enough for staying," she murmured. "You didn't have to." Myers just kissed her again. Annie resisted the urge to talk to him about what was wrong right then. Not here. She wanted to do it in their own home. When the Thompson's finally got back and paid Annie handsomely, the four of them shook hands before she and Michael left. When they got home, Myers carried her in in his arms.
"You're so romantic," Annie couldn't stop a small smile. They sat at the table having a late dinner where Annie told him about how her course was going and how her day doing coursework had been a struggle. How she was going to speak to her tutor about it on Monday, today being a Friday night. Myers nodded and had text don't overdo it, Annie. I know you want to do well, but don't push it. She smiled at him, blinking back tears. "I won't," she said. But when she got his answer, she did cry. Promise me?
After dinner, Myers carried Annie upstairs to bed. Lifting her in once she was wearing her favourite soft pyjamas, Myers removed his clothes, climbed in next to her and pulled her in to his arms. But that's not everything is it. He texted. There's something else. What's wrong, my love?
"How did you…" Myers simply kissed her. Because I love you, Annie Bracket.
Annie stared at the message, the first time he'd ever said it in so many words. Yes he'd treated her lovingly during the relationship, but this was the first time he'd actually written those three enormous words. Annie hugged him again as her tears fell. This time, Myers kissed them away.
"No Michael," Annie managed eventually. After that, she had to ask him. She had to. "That's not everything. I've been worrying about something else I've wanted to say to you." Michael raised an eyebrow. "Can you look in my trouser pocket?" Annie breathed. "Myers sat up, reached for Annie's jeans and did as she asked, removing the small box. Annie nodded. "Open it, please?" Myers lay back down beside her and did so. She saw him looking at the gold band within it.
"Michael Myers," Annie breathed, cuddling against him. There was nowhere else she realised now she'd rather be when asking him this question. She'd considered romantic restaurants, walks, but nothing seemed right. Now she realised all that had been pointless. This was just perfect. "Will you marry me?" She felt her phone buzz and it took her a minute to pluck up the courage to look at it. When she did, she was confused. It read look at me.
Annie looked up and her heart swelled again to the point she thought it would burst. Myers was looking straight back at her, the ring resting on top of his ring finger. Her hands shaking with emotion, she picked it up and slid it on to his ring finger instead. Myers pulled her close and began to kiss her again, before she got another text. Yes.
Myers made love to her again and again that night. The next day he took her shopping and bought her a stunning engagement ring. When Laurie came over, she was thrilled when Annie told her, talking about wedding plans for hours. Annie was surprised Michael didn't leave as men normally did when girls got talking. But he remained with them, smiling softly as he listened to their excited planning. God she adored him.
A mere week later, she and Michael married in a very quiet ceremony, only Laurie and a few of their friends present, along with her father. Annie smiled when Dr Loomis arrived, shaking Michael's hand and hugging her. The doctor scrubbed up great in a suit and tie, she thought with a smile. "Thank you so much for coming," Annie said to him. "I wasn't sure if you'd get the invite. That's why I rang you via SG."
"I got it," Loomis smiled. "I wouldn't miss this for the world. Michael, you look fabulous, Annie, gorgeous."
Michael did too. Annie was sure he'd never worn a suit and tie before and just like Loomis, it suited him. He looked gorgeous to her eyes, but then he looked gorgeous anyway. It seemed to take ages, but finally the famous line of "you may kiss the bride" had been spoken and Michael pulled her to him and kissed her once, twice. The reception was also quiet, just their small group having a meal in Michael and Annie's favourite restaurant.
Their wedding night was amazing. Laurie and their friends had booked them in to a bridal suite totally without their knowledge. They knew nothing of it right up until the moment their taxi dropped them off, they entered reception and the receptionist had smiled at them and said "you must be Mr. and Mrs. Myers! Congratulations! Please follow me?" Leading them up to the beautiful suite. Inside they'd found a bottle of champagne, small nibbles and flowers, with a beautiful card. Have a great wedding night, love Laurie, dad, Sam and Donna. XXX. Annie couldn't believe her eyes.
In the warm water of the jacuzzi, she and Michael made love for the first time as husband and wife, before doing so again in their marriage bed. Their honeymoon was a two week cruise, they were leaving the next morning. Laurie and the others had helped Annie book it.
Just hours later, they were aboard the cruise ship in their luxurious suite, preparing to leave. Annie had dipped in to her savings and gone all out for it. Hell, it was their honeymoon after all. They were in one of the first class suites on the ship. Spacious, unlimited food and drink, even a free butler for room service. They didn't get off the ship every day, sometimes just stayed aboard, taking room service, making love and enjoying the many varied activities on board. Annie won five hundred dollars in the casino and they used it for a lovely meal in one of the luxurious restaurants that night. All in all, it was the best two weeks of Annie Myers's life.
