Shay looked at Gabby as she smiled "Gabby I would love to marry you. And I can't wait to have kids and I really would love kids with you."

Gabby leans across and kisses Shay passionately, her heart swelling at the thought of there future. It left her torn between the 2 people she loves.

"But Shay...there's so many risks for me to have a child and so are you" Gabby was going to speak more when Shay planted a kiss on her lips.

"Just because we can't carry the baby, doesn't mean we can't have one Gabby."

Gabby and Shay just layed together, holding each other as they both was in thought of all the complications in there life right now.

Gabby was slowly drifting to sleep in Shay's arms when her phone went off. She blinked as tries to look at the called id before answering.

"Hi Matt"

"Hey Gabby. I'm just calling to see how your feeling. I know you wasn't in the best state and I know why but I still worry about you."

"It's such a mess Matt. I want to have kids and it's just been made difficult. Look I'm a bit better than earlier. Shay has kept me company. I'll call you when I want picking up."

"OK Gabby. I love you"

"I love you too bye" Gabby spoke as she ended the call.

Gabby looked over to Shay and signed. "I don't know what to do anymore Shay."

As Shay sat comforting a confused Gabby, they just sat in a comfortable silence.

Gabby ends up stopping over, not able to face Matt that night and when she went home the next day they ended up having a disagreement.

Gabby had told him she wanted to continue trying for a baby even with the risks.

When Matt had shown her the adoption leaflet Gabby had told her she wanted to have her own baby. Unfortunately Matt snapped and told Gabbt she couldn't have one.

This put Gabby in a state where she packed her belongings she needed for a few days and walked out the apartment as she headed to stay with Antonio for the night.

NEXT DAY –

Shay walked into the firehouse giggling with Severide as she saw Gabby speaking with Antonio.

"Hey. Everything is going to be alright sis. I'll see you tonight." Antonio kissed his sisters cheek before heading off, greeting Shay and Severide on the way past.

Shay frowned not knowing what was happening but before she had time to ask everyone was called out on a fire.

As the crew went inside, Gabby was with them clearing when she saw a young child hiding under the table. Gabby manages to get him to come out the hiding place and back to safety of Brett and Shay in the ambulance where she ended up catching a ride due to the boy holding onto dear life.

After the boy was checked over, this lady came over and explained that he was in a Foster home and that his name was Louie. After explaining the background Gabby's mind started doing flips. She said goodbye to Louie before they all headed back to the firehouse.

Once parked up, the 3 paramedics climbed out the ambulance. Brett went inside while Gabby went to take off her gear, Shay following along.

"Hey. Is everything ok with you and Casey?" Shay asked as she leans against the wall as her friend takes her over gear off.

"Not really. We had a big fall out last night. I ended up stopping at Antonio's last night." Gabby answered as she spun to face her friend.

"What's happened?" Shay asked as she pulled Gabby into a hug.

Gabby settled into her friends arm as she went through the events last night.

"How could he say that to you? He knows your struggling right? I'm going to talk to him", Shay said as she tried to move from the hug but Gabby wasn't letting go that easy.

"Shay don't. He's not worth it" Gabby moved her head back enough so she can lean in and kisses Shay on the lips.

Shay held Gabby close as she kisses Gabby back lovingly. "Don't let him get to you. We will find a good solution for you so you can have tour own baby but maybe less of a risk if we can"

Gabby nodded her head "Thanks Shay. I knew you would understand." They had a quick kiss before Brett came round the corner "Gabby sorry I just over heard your looking at having a baby but there's complications. How do you feel about me becoming your surrogate?"

Gabby and Shay was shocked as they was worried to ask. Gabby smiled to Brett "you really would do that for me?"

Brett smiled as she could see Gabby was relieved and happy "Of course. You helped me to where I am on ambo today. The least I can do is try and help. And I know that even though it will be yours longs we're still friends, I'll always be part of the babies life."

Gabby grinned happily "Then I will accept your offer." The 3 ladies smiled widely as they all went into a big bear hug.

"Well if you and Matt book in where ever is required and let me know when I'm needed and we will get this ball rolling." Brett smiled as they all head back through to the common room.

Matt noticed Gabby's attitude had changed a bit as she entered with the 2 paramedics as he walked over to you "Hey. Where did you stop last night you had me worried."

Gabby sighed as she wasn't wanting to have this conversation "Matt you wasn't nice to me last night. I ended up stopping at Antonio's."

Gabby was frustrated and was debating whether they could find a way so Shay would have the other parent as she was starting to fall out of love with Matt.

"Look Gabby I'm sorry I upset you. I didn't want to upset you but we also need to set realistic goals. We could always looking to Foster and adopt Louie." Matt said gently.

Gabby looked over very angry by now "First off Matt the Foster and adoption process is that long we wouldn't have time before Louie is given a family. Number two don't ever bring a child into a argument and number three I already have plans in place for Surrogacy. I'm more determined than ever to have my own child." Gabby spoke firmly.

"I would like to request to be 3rd paramedic on 61 for today. I don't feel like I can run under lieutenant Casey right now." Gabby spoke the last bit to Chief Boden and Matt Casey together.

As the chief looked over at Casey, Casey replied formally "If she thinks that's the best solution to make the team work then I can run a women short today."

Chief Boden nodded his head "Ok Dawson go get changed."

With that Gabby went to the locker room and changed into her Paramedics uniform without arguments.

"Hey. Just ignore him. He will get over it soon" Shay spoke as Shay and Brett came round.

"Thanks. I just couldn't deal with him today." Gabby smiled as she locked her locker back up.

"You're welcome to join us any time" Brett replied with a smile.

The moment is abruptly ended as they get a call as they rush to the ambulance. Brett let Gabby drive as she hopped in the back.
