Bright flashing lights shone widely from the forefront of the arcade cabinet. It's screen illuminates the 'Game Over: 0 Credits Remaining' text as Matsuri sighed, placing the imitation guns back onto their respective holsters. Another credit would cost about 100 Yen, which she didn't have on her. The pink haired girl slung her headphones onto her ears and began to play some punk rock as her hands entered her maroon hoodie pocket, before exiting the arcade.
It had been a while since she had last seen Yuzu. "Likely being a pervert with her president girlfriend. What am I saying? She's too scared to do that." The girl said to herself with a small chuckle as she began her strut down the street.
The crisp winter air and snow stung the skin of those caught in the storm. Matsuri had hoped that she could take refuge in the Arcade long enough for the storm to blow over, but it appeared it was down for the night.
The girl's black tights kept her somewhat warm as she trekked through the city lanes, passing the still bustling streets as shoppers flocked to stores for bargains on Christmas gifts. Looking up into the sky as the snow fell upon her smooth face, the girl contemplated her plans for the coming week.
"I should buy Yuzu a gift soon, before all the good ones are gone. And I suppose that means I should get that stick in the mud one too." Stopping outside a store, the girl gazed in, her reflection staring back at her as the wonderland behind her was formed of white, dotting the streets.
"I wonder what Mei would even like… a fancy pen? A new journal or calendar?" Shaking her head, she reminisces the stories recounted by her blonde friend regarding her lover. How she cherished the ring's they had that matched, as well as a large stuffed bear.
Sighing, a cloud of white smoke emanated from her mouth. "I guess she may be a bit more normal after all. Still, I don't know what to get her…"
Before long, the short girl had entered a department store. Lavish green tree's decorated with white, red and gold decorated the place with floating reindeer cutouts, which shone bright as they hung from the ceiling.
Matsuri sauntered about the store, first entering the section specifically set forth for Christmas gifts. There, gazing upon the countless sets of perfumes, lotions and creams which were to keep you looking youthful and pretty. The bratty girl laughed a little. "If you told somebody they needed one of these, they would get offended. But not if you buy it for them."
Flipping the box around, her eyes caught the price tag, ¥6500. The girl released another exacerbated sigh. "I could buy this, if Yuzu didn't make me stop my little phone business." The girl alluded to her past misadventures with Men as a Kanojo, something she had even tried to make Mei do in the past to put a divide between her and Yuzu.
It has been a while since that happened, now it causes the mischievous girl to chuckle at all she went through out of the worry her dear Yuzu would leave her. In a way, she got her wish of getting closer to the outgoing girl, gaining more along the way as well. It was only right to get Mei a gift as well.
The girl meandered to the next section of clothes, she had little intention of looking around here long, after all, she wasn't sure of the sizes to buy for anyone but herself. As Matsuri began to leave the store, she passed by a small stand selling keychains and pins as well as other memorabilia.
Picking up one, Matsuri smiled. "This looks similar to what Yuzu got when she went on that school trip. Maybe this is the sort of stuff I should get her." The girl took a mental note before leaving the store.
Stepping out into the blizzard, Matsuri slid her hoodie up as she began to walk home, in an attempt to conquer the slippery streets. The excitement in the air radiated, pouring into all around in a shared euphoria that often comes alongside the winter rush.
The sky was black but peppered with white dots descending from above as they glistened against the neon signs and colored lights. The schoolgirl was in a world of her own as she made her way home.
Entering her apartment, the girl slid her cold wet shoes off and flicked the light switch on before removing her clothes to place them on a drying rack. Flopping down on the sofa, she lamented at the thoughts of completing her homework and doing study for the upcoming winter exam.
It was then an idea hit the girl as a smirk ran across her face and she bolted up from her sprawl. "I could ask Mei for help studying, that way, I can find out what she may like."
The girl withdrew her pink phone with large round animal ears as she began to type a text message. The screen lit up with a 'Yuzu-Chan: Message delivered.' notification. Smiling and content, the girl went about her night, making herself some curry dinner and finishing her schoolwork to keep the Aihara girls happy.
The next day, the girl was prepared to meet Mei Aihara. Student Council President of Aihara Academy, who would be her personal tutor for the night. The pink haired brat counted the seconds to the final bell, when she could leave and meet Mei at the Student Council room.
Sure enough, Matsuri was nearly the first to be out of the classroom as the bell sounded, ringing the school day to a close. The girl confidently strutted to the student council room, where her tutor presumably was already.
Walking in, she was met with a killer glare from Himeko Momokino, the Student Council Vice President. "And what are you doing here, barging in like that? Do you have no respect or courtesy at all? You better be glad the President is not here or~" before the spiral haired girl got to finish, Matsuri had a large smirk on her face, which caught the stuck up girl off guard.
"And what is it that is so amusing Mizusawa?" The uptight girl exclaimed as her hands met her hips. "I'm here on the President's orders Momo, so relax, don't get your panties in a bunch. We are walking home together."
And with that, the sound of a pin dropping would be audible as Himeko attempted to process the information. "Why would the president wish to walk home with her? Is this brat lying?" Before she could speak, the girl of the conversation entered the room.
"Oh, you are here already. Please allow me to just tidy up for a moment, then I will be with you to walk home." The Aihara girl said rather straightforwardly, which also took Himeko off guard.
"Eh? So you're actually walking home with this delinquent?" The Vice President said, stomping over to her superior as she became rather displeased.
"Yes, I am walking home with her, she wishes for me to help her study for the upcoming test and seeing as it was a curriculum we have completed already, I decided it was within reason to help her improve. After all, that is what we want at the student council, no?" In one foul swoop, the girl had shut down any objection Himeko could make regarding the matter, causing her to retreat and accept the circumstance.
Soon, the illustrious president was ready to leave, departing with the pink haired brat in tow towards the Aihara home.
