-Fast forwarding-

The Destiny's Bounty begins to descend, gently landing into the shallow depths of a large cove. All of the ninja emerge from within the ship wearing their swimsuits.

Lloyd, Cole, and Pixel venture to the edge of the ship. They all 'ooh' and 'ahhh' as they take in the beautiful sights of their newly found surroundings.

The tall darkened stone cliffs that now surround them on each side, crystal clear water full of an assortment of small colorful fish, and the white sandy beach that appears to be untouched for many years.

"Uh, you guys know I still can't swim - right?" Kai mentions walking up behind the other ninja.
"No worries, we've already thought about that." Cole says with a slight smile upon his face.
"NOW ZANE!" Cole shouts just as Zane sneaks up behind Kai, throwing a large duck floatie around his red banded brother. All of the ninja aside from Kai laugh in delight.

Lloyd is the first to jump into the water soon followed by Zane and Pixal. Master Wu can be seen already relaxing on the beach with a chair and umbrella.

"How did..." Kai asks but is soon interrupted.
"You ready?" Cole asks turning towards Kai.
"N-nono, WAI-" Before Kai could finish his sentence Cole grabs him, duck floatie and all, throwing him overboard.
"CANNONBALL!" Cole shouts as he leaps off the edge of the ship and into the water with a huge splash that also soaks Kai in the process.

Hours fly by as the ninja enjoy each others company wading in the sea, playing in the sand, and relaxing in the shade. Kai eventually decides to take a quiet walk along the the beach to further clear his mind and enjoy the beauty of the cove.

A wind howls through an opening in the rocks, catching Kai's attention. He peaks into the opening and sees that it goes further back.

With his elemental powers, Kai engulfs his hand in fire as to create a make-shift torch to brighten the dark crevice. Several minutes pass as he pushes through the tunnel, at times struggling to traverse through tight spots but eventually finding a light near the end of the tunnel, finding the exit.

Emerging on the other side, Kai's eyes readjust as he's temporarily blinded by the bright sun, he can feel the ground turning from the cold rocky surface of the cave to the soft warm sands of the beach.

Finally his sight is returning, but what he see's shocks him - Nya...? Jay?!

A couple sit together under a red and white umbrella. The guy, wearing blue swim trunks resembling Jay with his brown wavy hair. The girl wearing a black one-piece swimsuit resembling Nya with her dark black hair pulled back into a ponytail. The loving couple sit with their backs facing Kai while they hold hands and look out across the sea.

"Nya! Jay!" Kai excitedly shouts, running towards them as fast as he can in the deep sand. The couple become startled and turn towards Kai, revealing their faces... Kai quickly realizing it wasn't them...

"Oh, sorry! I thought you were someone else." Kai sincerely apologizes to the couple as he turns away in embarrassment. He begins to walk away, his head hanging low with disappointment. "I should probably get back to the cove..." Kai thinks to himself as he proceeds back towards the cave.

[GASP]

"Wow hunny! Look, it's a pod of dolphins!" The lady gasps with excitement pointing out towards the sea.

"There's a small boat out there, that guy better be careful." The man exclaims. "Dolphins can be extremely aggressive." He adds.

Kai averts his attention from the mouth of the cave to the wide blue horizon.

He see's the pod of dolphins, their dorsal fins protruding from the surface as they come up for air. Some of them jumping completely out of the water as they play.

Close to the pod, about a hundred yards from shore, a small wooden craft is approaching the beach. Kai becomes fixated on the young man in the boat, the oddly familiar brown hair again...

"Could it really be him?..." Kai thinks to himself quietly watching as the boat grows ever closer. "Not every guy with brown hair is going to be him..." he thinks again.

"My mind is just playing tricks on me." Kai prepares to head back into the cave, just before catching a glimpse of the man's worn-down blue suit.

Sometimes the one thing you are looking for is the one thing you can not see. Master Wu's wise words repeat again in Kai's mind.

"The sea... his heart... Nya! He's been out here... looking for her this whole time?!" Kai continues thinking as he runs back through the sand towards the shoreline. He meets the boat as it rides up onto the sand, the man jumping out and pulling the vessel further up onto the beach.

"J-Jay?" Kai hesitantly asks. The man's shoulders perk up in shock as he turns, revealing his face. The wavy brown hair, those gentle freckles, and those soft eyes... It was Jay!

"Kai?! What are-" Jay says but can't finish his sentence before Kai wraps arms around him in a hugging embrace.

"You disappeared without a trace." Kai whimpers releasing his hold on Jay. "You even turned your tracker off. You had us so worried!" He added, slightly raising his voice out of concern.

"I'm sorry Kai..." Jay apologizes. "I didn't want to take you all away from protecting Ninjago."

Kai, sensing Jay's heartbreak, lays a hand on his shoulder. "We're a team..." Kai pauses. "No, we're brothers and family sticks together!" He says. "Besides Ninjago has been fine, we've actually been searching the city all week for you."

"But, Nya... she's out there." Jay says turning his head to look out towards the sea. "I can feel it... like she's calling to me."

Kai turns his gaze out to the wide blue horizon, clouds growing ever darker in the distance... a large storm is brewing.

"We'll look for her together." Kai promises grabbing Jays hand, leading him to the cave.

Meanwhile, back at the cove...

Cole catches sight of the fiery beach towel that lays unoccupied in the sand. "Do you know where Kai went?" Cole asks turning to Master Wu who is relaxing under a nearby umbrella.

"As water reflects the face, so one's life reflects the heart." Master Wu replies.

"Looks like footprints lead this way." Lloyd states as he points to the imprints in the sand.

The ninja trace the footprints back to the entrance of the cave just as they see Kai emerging.

"Oh, hey guys!" Kai says walking out of the cave. "Guess who I found?" He adds, stepping to the side revealing Jay behind him.

"JAY!" Lloyd, Cole, Zane, and Pixel all exclaim in unison. Everyone's eyes light up with the reunion of their blue banded brother. Jay gives a gentle loving smile while Kai finally loosens up, like a weight has been lifted off his shoulders.

But now... the search for Nya begins.
