A little later, back aboard the Destiny's Bounty where Master Wu enters the command room, soon followed by Lloyd, Zane, Pixal, Cole, Kai, and finally Jay... who stops short of the doorway.
His eyes catching a view of the unmanned helm where Nya is usually tasked with piloting the ship. He can feel his heart begin to break all over again as a saddened look quickly grows upon his face.
Kai looks back at his blue banded brother. "We'll begin our search for Nya together, like I promised." He says with a warm tone in his voice, grabbing Jay's attention. He comes to join his friends around a large desk, where a map of Ninjago and the endless sea lies.
Meanwhile a nearby monitor quietly shuffles through the daily reports "Gayle Gossip here, in other news, peace in the city? With crime rates at an all time lo-" Zane reaches for the remote, muting the monitor and silencing the broadcast.
"Where have you already looked?" Kai asks turning towards Jay who is now focused on the map sprawled out on the table.
Jay takes a brief moment, thoroughly investigating the map and it's contents. "Here." He says, pointing to the northern part of the sea. "And South... around here." He adds, moving his hand across the map.
"But... straight west here." He continues, repositioning his hand again. "I haven't been able to check here yet." Jay says as he looks up to the muted monitor.
Headline [Large Storm Developing: expected to make landfall in 2 days]
"A storm?" Kai questions as he follows Jay's gaze to the attention of the headline on the screen.
"This storm... It's not normal." Jay says as to pause for a moment. "The lightning, it feels similar to when we fought Wojira." He adds continuing to look up towards the muted monitor.
Zane walks over to the computer and begins to type away on the keyboard, bringing up past interactive weather radars.
"Jay is right, this storm isn't normal. It doesn't appear to be moving." The nindroid suggests, pointing to the radar showing a singular point of origin.
Zane continues to click through a collection of radars from the past few days. The radar showing the increasing strength of the storm as it spreads across the sea closer towards Ninjago.
"Storms normally move though, right?" Lloyd asks.
"Unless..." Kai says.
"You don't think...?" Cole ponders.
"...the storm amulet?!" Kai adds.
"But we saw Nya destroy Wojira and the amulets." Lloyd mentions.
"Correct." Zane agrees.
"We saw her destroy the amulet of the sea... But the storm amulet, what if it wasn't destroyed?!" Jay exclaims.
Seconds feel like minutes pass as the time ticks away, the room remaining silent. Lloyd quietly breaks away from the group, walking over to a nearby shelf, grabbing a scroll, and returning to the table.
"Thanks to Bentho and the Merlopians..." Lloyd says, finally breaking the silence. "They've provided us with a highly detailed underwater map." He continues while laying the scroll out across the desk. "It includes everything from underwater caverns to poisonous geysers." He adds. "If the amulet is underwater, we will need the Hydrobounty. Pixal, how are the repairs?"
"All major damage has been attended to." Pixal calculates. "However it is currently undergoing a diagnostic scan and will not be operable until completed. Estimating nearly 12 hours until scans are finished." She adds.
"Alright, Zane, Cole, and Pixal can take the Hydrobounty." Lloyd suggests. "Once it's ready to go, take this trench here." He says pointing to a deep crevice on the map. "This should be a safe enough depth to avoid any rough waters caused by the storm." He adds.
"Jay, Kai, and I will take off as soon as we can with the Destiny's Bounty to widen our search to the surface and skies." Lloyd continues. "We're looking for both the storm amulet and for Nya. Try to keep close radio contact, the storm might interfere with our communications."
"Right." Zane agrees looking at Pixal, taking her hand in his.
"As much as I want to assist you in your journey to locate Nya and contain the storm amulet, we can not leave Ninjago unprotected." Master Wu mentions. "I will remain back with Misako, Skylor, and Dareth shall anything arise to threaten the city." He wisely adds as the rest of the ninja nod in agreement.
"Then it's settled. We'll head for the storm!" Lloyd states as everyone scatters to prepare for the mission.
Kai begins to leave the table but notices Jay who doesn't budge, his gaze still fixated on the underwater map.
"Jay? You coming?" Kai asks breaking Jay out of a trance.
"Oh? Yeah sorry, let's get going." Jay replies as he turns his attention to Kai and make their way out of the command room.
