A few moments later, the Destiny's Bounty makes landfall in Ninjago's harbor to drop off the Hydrobounty team at the docks.
"Take these." Pixal says, holding out three small devices in front of Cole, Kai, and Jay.
"During previous scans through our systems I've come across a collection of old blueprints." She adds. "Zane and I have made a few minor adjustments but they could be of use during our mission." Pixal states handing Cole a black keyfob, Kai a similar red fob, and finally Jay with the last blue fob.
Excited and intrigued, together they examine the new metallic devices and see the steady red light pulsing on each of their keys.
"Simply activate them by holding the button until the light turns a solid red." Pixal explains.
"Similar to homing beacons, once activated they will launch from the base back at the monastery." She continues. "Based on the color of the light you'll be able to tell the distance. Ranging from red; being the furthest away, orange, yellow, and finally to green as it arrives." She concludes.
Cole, Pixal, and Zane break away as they make their way off the ship to prepare the Hydrobounty.
"Well are you guys ready to go?" Lloyd asks facing Kai and Jay, they both nod in response.
The Destiny's Bounty, with Lloyd manning the helm, lifts off into the sky as it turns towards the sea.
"It'll be some time until we breach the storm." Kai states, looking at Jay. "If you want to go relax for a bit, I'll keep watch for any signs of Nya." He adds.
"Sure, thanks." Jay replies with a relieved tone in his voice as he makes his way underdeck.
Suddenly awakening, Jay finds himself back at the wooden shack along the beach. Staring at the ceiling he can't help but think to himself as he gently rubs his eyes... was that all just a dream?
A blue light begins to seep inbetween the boards of the shack, grabbing Jay's attention as it illuminates parts of the room then quickly begins to fade. Jay opens the door to investigate, but who he sees before him, he can't believe his eyes...it was Nya!
But she was already headed back down towards the water's edge.
"NYA?! W-wait!" Jay pleads, running through the sand, chasing Nya down to the shoreline.
Now knee deep in the water Nya stops and turns to look at Jay. She gives him a gentle loving smile and turns back, continuing to walk deeper into the sea without saying a word.
"NYA!" Jay shouts running over to a small boat, quickly pushing it off the sandbank as he jumps in, grabbing the oars, and begins to paddle out to sea in pursuit.
Nya's light vanishes under the surface as Jay loses sight of her. Desperately scanning the water for any signs of his beloved yang, Jay takes a moment to look at the stern but only notices the beach that was no longer behind him...the entire shoreline has seemingly vanished.
How far did he paddle out? He tries to comprehend.
Startled by a sudden bright flash of lightning Jay looks forward again just as the bow of his boat breaks through a dark wall cloud. The skies quickly grow dark while the water begins to shift causing large waves to form.
Jay's small boat begins to break apart as water violently crashes against each side, plunging him into the sea. Struggling to stay above the massive waves as they continue to push him under, Jay can't stay above the surface long enough to catch a breath. He soon finds himself sinking further and further under the waves, bright flashes of lightning can still be seen illuminating the skies above.
Losing strength he surrenders to the sea turning to face the depths a large silhouette with a pair of bright purple eyes stare back at him. Even larger than the hydrobounty, the shadowed creature charges directly at him, seemingly swallowing him whole.
Jay jolts up into a sitting position as he gasps for air. Placing a hand on his chest to try to calm his rapid breathing he can feel his heart racing.
Taking in his surroundings he realizes he was still aboard the Destiny's Bounty.
"I... I must've fallen asleep..." Jay whispers quietly to himself as he gets up and starts walking towards the stairs just as Kai comes down.
"Jay! You're up!" Kai says. "We're approaching the storm, but it's bigger than we expected." He adds.
"Are you feeling better?" Kai asks while looking at his blue banded brother.
"Actually, Kai... there's been something I've been meaning to ask..." Jay says as his voice cracks.
"Sure, what's up?" Kai replies with concerned glance.
"What happened during the battle against Wojira..." Jay begins as Kai can sense the pain in his voice. "Nya sacrificed herself to save m-"
"Nya saved all of us." Kai hastily interrupts Jay, placing a hand on his shoulder. "And now... it's our turn to save her." He adds. "Don't worry... we'll find her."
Jay's saddened expression seems to melt away with Kai's empowering words as a sliver of hope returns to Jay's eyes.
"But right now, Lloyd needs our help." Kai says leading the way back above deck, Jay following close behind.
Just as they re-emerge onto the deck, Jay looks up at the darkened skies above the Destiny's Bounty as his thoughts begin race back to his dream.
"Jay! Could you help redirect the lightning so it doesn't damage the ship?!" Lloyd shouts from the helm, catching Jay's attention.
"Leave it to me!" Jay replies with a determined voice.
The Destiny's Bounty proceeds further into the storm as the winds start to pick up and slam against the flying vessel.
Lloyd puts all of his strength into keeping the wheel of the ship steady.
Kai works on securing the sails keeping them from collapsing under the winds pressure.
Just as the first strike of lightning comes hurtling towards Jay.
