Rosemary's POV:
After I went around appraising everything in my path, I got to level 4 for appraisal. Some of the things I appraised tried to attack me. I learned how to use my abilities during that time, so they also leveled up. I dragged all the monsters I killed behind me and made my way back to Kumoko's web.
On my way there, I saw Kumoko get chased down by some big ass snake. I decided it was not my problem. I continued to drag the corpses until I got them to Kumoko's web. I laid the corpses down near the web. I suddenly decided that I was hungry and wasn't in the mood to eat the rotting corpses of the creatures I killed.
I managed to remember the giant snake Kumoko was getting chased by. Using my sense of smell, I followed her. I found Kumoko and the snake fighting. I called out to her. "Kumoko! When you've killed the snake, can I eat it? Or you will be my next meal instead!" She looked my way with a shocked expression. "You're not going to help?! I can die!"
I sighed. "I'll assist you a little bit. You're close to leveling up to level 10, so I thought you would want to take on this snake by yourself," I responded. She nodded quickly before dodging the snake's attack. I appraised the snake. "Elroe Baladorado Lv.9. Status Appraisal failed." Huh.
After thinking about it for some time, I decided the best way to kill the Elroe... whatever, I must use Death gate. But I just want to assist, so maybe Heretic Magic? Yeah, sure. Heretic Magic for the win... yay...
"Heretic Magic," I said as I faced the Elroe... What was the name again? I can see that the spell worked because the El... The snake seems to be in pain, but there were no injuries on it other than the wounds from Kumoko's attacks. I kept using Heretic Magic to make it easier to defeat the snake.
"Heretic Magic has reached level 2" the mysterious, yet familiar voice says. I continue to use Heretic Magic, only this time, the snake hissed in pain. Kumoko finished the snake off.
By the time she finished, I was starving. I rushed to the snake and started chomping away at the meat. It tasted horrible. I lifted my head and searched for ways to cook the meat to make it taste better. I heard Kumoko say something about evolving. I couldn't find anything so I just decided to cook the snake using Abyssal breath. It still counts, right?
While I was busy using Abyssal Breath to cook the snake, Kumoko seemed to have passed out. I guess I should also protect her while I'm cooking right? Well, it seems using Abyssal breath to cook was a smart move because I also level it up. By the time I was done cooking, my abyssal breath was at level 6. I decided to go back to grab the corpses from before, so I left for a while. I tried to be decently quick because I don't want Kumoko to wake up and eating all my hard work, and I don't want the corpses to completely rot away before I've started eating them.
I dragged the 7 corpses to where the cooked snake and Kumoko were. I got there on time, it seems, because Kumoko was just starting to wake up. "Did you get a good rest? I just finished dragging the corpses here." I said when she seemed to be fully awake. "Really?! I'm very hungry right now, so thank you!" Kumoko said.
"... did you think all of this was for you? I'm very hungry right now, but I don't know why. I don't remember the last time I ate," I said. "Didn't you say you wanted me to kill the Elroe before you eat it? And of course, you don't remember when the last time you ate was! You don't remember anything!" Kumoko semi-yelled.
"Whatever. These corpses are for you. Find a way to cook it or something. That snake is for me." I said as I walked over to the snake and took a bite. It tastes decent. Why did I cook it again?
"How did you cook all that?" Kumoko asked. "I don't remember. But I think I used Abyssal Breath." I answered. "Can you cook these corpses for me? I did kill the snake for you." Kumoko said. "Fine," I said with a mouth full of snake meat. "Give me a second. Also, while I'm cooking you food, don't take a single bite out of my snake."
I went over to the pile of corpses and started using Abyssal Breath on the bodies. I finished and Kumoko thanked me before eating the creatures. I went back to my own food and continued chomping on the snake.
