Chapter 4: Physical Education Zone
As Webroot left the classroom, Void carefully snuck away from the door. He had to make sure that Webroot didn't catch him spying on his conversation with Total AV.
"So... Total AV has returned and he plans to invade every email server in the computer world? I'm unfortunately gonna have to play it safe with Minister Webroot for the time being. If he exposes me to the U.A.V, it's gonna be 30 years in quarantine for me," whispered Void. He quietly exited the hallway and headed towards the gym.
When Void finally arrived at the gym, he opened the doors and saw 20 random robots running around the gym in a circle.
In the middle of the gymnasium was Minister AVG, who was holding a stop watch in his hand.
As AVG continued timing the students on their endurance, Void walked up to him while avoiding the running students as much as possible.
AVG was shocked to see him. "Void Ranger, what an unexpected surprise... Brought someone with you, I see?" said AVG.
Void looked confused from what AVG said. He then turned his head to suddenly find SNT standing next to him smiling.
"SNT? What the heck!! How did you do that?!" Void yelled, looking shocked by her presence.
"Hello again Void, nice to see you again!" she said as she made an adorable smile on her face.
"So mister Void, what brings you here to the gymnasium when you should be in room 101 with Mistress ClamWin?" asked AVG as he crossed his arms looking at him.
"Well Minister AVG, I regret to inform you, but I believe that Mistress ClamWin has insulted your intelligence behind your back during the first period," said Void as he bowed his head in sadness.
"Did that b*h seriously insult me? Is she trying to get me fired from the U.A.V academy after all I've done for this company?!!" asked AVG.
Void then slowly approached AVG and asked him a serious question about his virus definition capabilities.
"Is it true that you never faced the Abraxas 2 Dos virus?"
"That's because I was never part of the U.A.V during the MS-Dos era. I joined the U.A.V during the DoorsXP era; 10 years after MS-Dos." answered AVG.
"In that case, you should report what ClamWin said about you. Her comments of calling you a coward is an insult towards your intelligence." said SNT with a stern look on her face.
"Also, I really hope you don't fall into the same trap that Total AV fell in years ago." said Void, who was worried for AVG's future in the anti-virus industry.
"No need to worry about me children. Unlike Total AV, I would never hold grudges of vendetta against others." said AVG as he placed his hands on Void and SNT's shoulders.
As SNT and Void looked at each other and smiled, they suddenly heard a loud boom coming from outside the gymnasium door.
As the students stopped running and observed, Void and SNT turned around to see the exit door breaking open. The loud booming sounds continued.
Ready to battle, SNT took up her fighting stance while Void drew his sword and turned his head towards the minister.
"Minister AVG, get the students out of here and contact Minister Norton. We have a security breach in this very academy, and some giant worm is trying to destroy us!!!" Shouted Void as he turned his head back towards the beat up exit door with his sword drawn.
Without hesitating, Minister AVG rounded up the students as they ran to the nearest emergency exit door located near the back of the gymnasium.
As the students evacuated the gym, Minister AVG smashed the glass on an alarm panel and pressed the panic button before escaping, causing the alarms to sound.
Once the evacuation was successful, Void and SNT got closer and closer to the door as the thunderous booming sound continued.
SNT got down and prepared to curl into a ball while Void aimed his sword towards the door.
Finally, the gym door broke open causing the door to fly towards our heroes, and a cloud of smoke puffing in front of them.
Both Void and SNT side stepped out of the way to avoid the door hitting them.
When the smoke finally lifted, emerging from the door was the SoBig worm.
The worm slithered towards the pair and growled as it was ready to put up a fight.
It began the fight by slamming its head towards SNT and Void as they ran out of the way to dodge.
The worm then tried to go for quick bites at SNT, but she ran away from the worm and performed a spin dash to attack the worm on it's head.
Meanwhile, Void began swinging his sword everywhere in hopes to intimidate the worm. But the worm wasn't putting up with him.
He grabbed Void's leg with its mouth and hoisted him in the air. The worm then slammed Void up and down multiple times until he was severely injured.
As the SoBig worm then turned his attention towards its next target, SNT immediately went for a homing attack and was able to attack the worm's chest. The worm was down, but it still wasn't out.
SNT then dashed around the gymnasium in circles to confuse the worm. It spun its head around too much until it got dizzy.
Using this trick to her advantage, SNT then took Void's sword and bounced off the wall where she used it to stab the worm's head.
The SoBig worm finally fell to the ground and began to disintegrate into binary coded blood.
As the worm layed dying in the middle of the gymnasium, SNT picked up Void and carried him out where Minister Norton and Mistress ClamWin were waiting for them outside.
"Miss SNT, would you mind explaining to me just what the hell happened here in the gymnasium?" Norton asked looking concerned.
"Minister Norton, Mistress ClamWin, I can explain everything," said SNT as Minister Norton bent down and gave her some tape to bandage up Void, who was still injured from the worm's assault earlier.
Minutes later, inside the U.A.V courtroom, SNT and Void entered where Norton and ClamWin were waiting for them.
Void held his arm in a bandage as he tried to keep it from moving.
Minister Norton approached the podium. "Void Ranger, welcome to your evaluation session. And miss SNT, why are you here before us? Shouldn't you be in class with Mistress ClamWin?" Norton asked.
Void bowed his head in sorrow towards his superior.
"Minister Norton, an attempted assassination was launched minutes ago in the gymnasium. After I stormed out of class after Mistress ClamWin insulted one of your ministers, I went to visit AVG who was teaching P.E at the time. And from there... we were ambushed by the SoBig worm who tried to destroy us," confessed Void.
"Thankfully for Void, I was there when it happened. And with brute force, I managed to delete it from existence," said SNT as she chimed in.
Outraged, Mistress ClamWin stood towards the podium next to Norton and shouted,
"Impossible!!! Viruses, worms and other forms of malware are prohibited from entering the academy!!!"
"But if the academy was breached, who would bring a worm into the school?" SNT wondered.
Minister Norton turned his head towards ClamWin and asked,
"Mistress ClamWin, do you believe that there was a security breach in this very academy?"
"Of course not!" Responded ClamWin who still believed that the security breach in the academy was ridiculous.
"I disagree!" Shouted AVG who suddenly entered the courtroom to join the conversation. AVG approached Norton and gave out his testimony.
"I can vouch for these children. They were with me this entire time when the gymnasium was breached," said AVG as he placed his hands on both SNT and Void's shoulder.
"With that in mind, I wish to push forward my authorization to have Void Ranger take the first exam."
ClamWin was shocked and outraged by AVG's words. "You can't be serious?! Minister, these children have done nothing to be given authorization to participate in the first exam. I recommend for these children to be expelled from the academy and for minister AVG to be stripped of his minister status, while we of the U.A.V investigate this incident!" shouted ClamWin in protest.
But Minister Norton decided to think about the appropriate action as he stared at Mistress ClamWin and Minister AVG for a good 3 minutes.
"Void Ranger, SNT and Minister AVG. We of the united anti-virus movement academy are hereby suspending all classes until further notice. To which time, we will be launching an investigation on this very incident," said Norton as ClamWin grinned, hoping that her request to remove the trio from the school would come to pass.
"Furthermore, because you rescued one of our ministers from being infected by malware... Void and SNT, I hereby promote you to D-Tier Anti-Virus. Congratulations," said Norton as he and Minister AVG applauded for Void and SNT as they gave each other a hug.
Void and SNT then held hands and looked up to Norton.
"Minister Norton, thank you. This promotion means a lot, especially coming from you." Said Void as he bowed before him and proceeded to exit the room.
But before opening the door to exit, Void turned his head back to Norton. "Oh and minister Norton, may I please change my first period to be physical education please? At least so I can be close to a minister I can trust," said Void as he turned his head towards AVG who was speechless.
ClamWin was shocked to hear Void's request as Norton turned his head towards her and said straight to her face. "Permission granted, Void Ranger, permission granted."
ClamWin became even more flabbergasted, "Minister Norton, are you kidding me right now? I demand for these children to be removed from the academy immediately!" She shouted in anger.
"Shouldn't you have a class to teach?" Norton growled back.
ClamWin was furious. She left the podium and stormed out of the courtroom as Void, SNT, AVG and Norton stood there and looked on.
"Don't worry children... She has her issues," said Norton.
As Void, SNT and AVG left the courtroom, they passed by Minister Webroot, who was on his way to the courtroom to speak with Minister Norton.
"So, another virus deleted from the equation... Tell me mister Void, would you happen to explain what happened in the gymnasium between you, AVG and this... beast?" asked Webroot.
"Hey, who are you calling a beast?!!!" yelled SNT who was offended by what Webroot called her.
"Minister Webroot, cut the crap, will you?" shouted AVG in anger.
"I was just training my students in preparation for their first exam, when a giant worm suddenly showed up and attacked the gym. Luckily for me and my students, these 2 children fought the worm themselves. Would have been much easier for them if you would show up," AVG snarked as he put his hands on Void and SNT's shoulder.
"Ha! Says the anti-virus that never deleted a single malware in his life." Webroot snarked back.
Webroot then turned his attention to Void and SNT, "Now you both may have deleted an easy virus such as the SoBig worm, but mark my words. Once you take on the first exam... You won't be so lucky, as you're gonna have to fend for yourselves. And not a single minister throughout the U.A.V will be there to assist you. Do you understand?" Webroot said.
"Think about it... And take that with a grain of salt," said Webroot as he resumed his walk towards the door as Void, SNT and Minister AVG looked back to watch Minister Webroot open the door to enter the courtroom.
When the door finally closed, SNT frowned and announced out loud, "I hate that guy."
